WOW @#!* YOU BOHMAN, @!#&! YOU. My god, this episode was nauseating to watch because of the horrific things Bohman is doing. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the rules of the skills doesn’t apply to him since he can use it whenever the @#*&! he wants!

Basically Bohman’s goal is to quite litterally “unite” the world. We are already seeing signs of this with Robopoppi being able to see the broadcast of the duel, as she herself couldn’t understand why she was able to. (It was so good to see her again though! She’s so cute with how she was cheering on Yuusaku and Ai!) He claims life and consciousness are different, as their consciousness will forever live within him, and everything will be reflected by his will. That’s his idea of the ideal new world. And what makes Bohman so bloody dangerous this time is the fact he is now using all five of the six Ignis’ powers, claiming he will be able to draw out their full potential. Additionally, he has a new power called: Neuron Link, a system where he can pull out and use the human brains capabilities of the the players who are currently trapped in Link VRAINS. This makes them serve as his resource for indispensable powers, such as gaining the capability to use Master Storm Access, and produce a Link 5 Monster: Chimera Hydradrive Dragrid.

It was good to see Ai call Bohman out for his bullshit. Even though Bohman doesn’t consider what he’s doing to be ‘wrong’ or ‘bad’, it doesn’t change or make his actions and less horrific. It is just as Ai says, he is basically killing people in exchange for more power.

But what really gets to me the most is the implications we keep on hearing, over and over again in this series about what happens when things goes wrong in Link VRAINS. Akira and Emma discussing the risks involved of figuring out how to forcefully log the players out of the system is what makes Bohman’s actions so alarming. Regardless of whenever Bohman falls, the damage has already been done, and there will certainly be repercussions of its side-effects that will play out in the living world. Whether or not those players who were sacrificed all for Bohman’s new powers are able to wake up from their comatose remains uncertain. The worst case scenario would be this Neuron Link frying their brains and ultimately killing them both in Link VRAINS and the real world.

And due to Link Sense, Yuusaku can hear the players’ fearful screams, and it’s bound to take a toll on him. And the longer the duel goes on, the worse it’s going to get. So unless he can somehow tune them out, this is going to make it incredibly difficult for him. I also imagine it is very likely this will become a trauma that will haunt him for some time, regardless of the outcome of this duel.

Speaking of trauma, even if some of the players in the network are fortunate enough to be spared from Bohman’s power, every single one of them will certainly experience post traumatic stress to some extent, unless everyone’s memories of the incident is wiped out entirely, which may also end up happening as well. This also puts the nails in the coffin for Link VRAINS as a whole, as I doubt anyone would want to get themselves involved with it again, including SOL Technology, whose name as a company will undoubtedly be tainted. They would have to rebrand themselves to start on a clean slate.

What also makes this duel so nerve-wracking to watch is the uncertainty of whether or not Yuusaku will be able to beat Bohman. Sure, we all believe that the protagonist gotta win at this point, but what happens if he doesn’t? What if Akira and Ghost Girl miraculously somehow figure out a way to forcefully log the players out, disrupting this fateful duel? Sure Bohman claims that when he wins, he will use the Neuron Link to instant take over the world’s network, and people in real life will be under his control. But to what extent will that be? Will be play out in a similar manner as how he was able to rob Jin of his consciousness? Perhaps, but I imagine they ought to be a loophole somewhere. Either way, choosing the route where Yuusaku losing in this duel, and he is sparred because of Akira’s and Ghost Girl’s intervention could certainly open up some really interesting development for the final season, but it’s not something I actually expect to play out.

If my eyes can roll any further, they would fall out of their sockets. The cheating and hypocrisy knows no bounds. I never liked Bohman and after this episode, I probably never will.
When will the cheating stop? Most of the villains in season 2 have cheated. The only villain who didn’t cheat was Haru…but you know what happened to him. sigh
I mean, I know that Playmaker is gonna win and I WANT HIM TO WIN! BEAT THIS HYPOCRITE’S ASS TO OBLIVION!
I also want to know how SOL Tech is gonna squeeze themselves into season 3 after this duel. Will they label PM and the others as cyber terrorists just to take some of the brunt of the bad publicity off of them? Will the six victims play a role due to their status as origins? Since Yusaku has Link Sense, I wonder if the other five victims have their own unique abilities–it would be an interesting detail to talk about in season 3 since Link Sense hasn’t been given a thorough explanation.

He is quite litterally hacking his way through the duel. +_____+💢
I am very interested in seeing what will become of SOL and how they will rebrand themselves next season. Will they continue to push that AI implant? If so, have they perfected it despite everything that has happened thus far? Curiously, as you mentioned about Link Sense, would such grant them that kind of ability as well? There are so much stuff they can work with, that I am looking forward to see which direction they take us.

You know one of these days I´m gonna start a stopwatch every time a new turn begins just to see how long it really last, I have heard from IRL players how these kind of turns happen where they can keep going for 10 min but come on this is BS.
Joke aside there was many good things in today´s episode:
Link 5 monster that even if it may never be printed is still a nice milestone and god dam does it look sick in a cool way, the ramafications of it´s creation will propperly get some anime fans mouths to water.
Playmaker summoning Cyberse Quantum Dragon indicates that he´s gonna try every move in his arsenal to cut down that behemoth of a Hydradrive and we have seen in season this arsenal is not on the small side. Bonus points for the fact that the way they have been playing this off and from what I have seen of the spoilers for the next episode indicates that they won´t be enought and the only thing that can beat a Link 5 is another Link 5.
Season 2´s ending duel is a go let´s get something to enjoy.
PS: I can´t claim it´s true but I have heard rumors that there might not be an episode next week but that there should be 2 episodes the weak after, it´s only a rumor so take it with a grain of salt.

that LINK 5 monster looks pretty good and I like it but bohman skill it totally insane. he can use data storm and his skill every turn

I’m loss at words to describe Bohman in this episode. But one thing for sure, his ideal is twisted. Doesn’t matter if he is more sensible than Lightning, it’s still twisted. I heard this duel gonna last very long around 4 or 5 parts. I just hope they won’t make those episodes boring or repetitive. And Akira, Ghost Girl, and Hanoi Knights better do something during those times instead of keep watching!
And concerning SOL Technology. I agree, SOL Technology’s very late action resulted players falling into Neuro Link, and if the players developed PTSD, SOL Technology’s name will be tainted. This would lead to people no longer trust the company and refuse to use their service; meaning no money for the company. Considering Queen is willing to do the extreme to gain profit for the company, this incident may cause SOL to be so desperate that they’ll do another extreme action to regain their customers along with their money, a motive that I think is enough that may turn them into the main antagonist in Season 3.

Yeah as I was watching this I was thinking how many this one’s going to be. I expect at least four episodes. Hopefully it won’t get repetitive because dragging it out to the point it gets boring it’s going to wear the viewers out.

“Considering Queen is willing to do the extreme to gain profit for the company, this incident may cause SOL to be so desperate that they’ll do another extreme action to regain their customers along with their money, a motive that I think is enough that may turn them into the main antagonist in Season 3.”
…Why do I get the feeling that they’re going to track down the victims and try to kidnap them again? That’s what I can think of if SOL were to go to the extreme. I mean, all of them were revealed in Frog and Pigeon’s broadcasting, so they will probably use that to their advantage. They can’t kidnap a new batch of kids due to technological advancement and the six origins are the ones connected to the six Ignis. If they want to understand the Ignis code and create more Ignis, the origins (or getting Ryoken) will surely be a nefarious goal for the third season. That’s what I can think of if SOL wants to stay in the picture as relevant and competent villains.

      1. Eva

Oh my god, I think you’re onto something. O_____O Or what about this, the original lost incident victims VS SOL’s victims/lab rats? The new victims (or volunteers) could prove to become twisted as Onizuka had demonstrated, losing their original personality and such. Or perhaps become the living examples of those who have “successfully” been able to accept the AI-Chip implants.

        1. ecarg312

That can work too. Maybe they’ll get AI chip implant volunteers to make them track down the origins since they’re scattered. Since their ultimate goal is a Super AI, the Ignis are a necessity. The AI Chip has been proven to be a scary thing, they can totally corrupt people with it.
