Color me surprised by the sudden jump in the story again. I don’t know what this show is trying to accomplish by skipping around events, and why they would even skip Chise’s introduction. Is it to confuse us or keep us more in the mystery of these girls?

The episode opens up with a group of researchers from the Kingdom completing their prototype of a C-ball, or a Cavorite ball, the same that Ange possesses. Dorothy gets the word from higher up that their team is to use Princess to infiltrate the ceremony at the Cavorite mine and grab the prototype C-ball, so the Kingdom does not use their technology to create massive weapons. Dorothy also gets the warning that Princess is still suspected to be a double agent and so Dorothy is conflicted upon learning this, carefully observing Princess’ behavior and actions throughout the mission. Again, the episode was pretty straightforward. After the girls try to come up with a name for their group, we see them head to the ceremony. Princess and Chise stay among the people, and we get to see her grandmother. We also hear of a possible marriage for Princess so their relations with Moscow improves, and obviously Princess isn’t happy with it. While they speak, Dorothy, Ange, and Beatrice head off to find the prototype. Dorothy uses her sexuality as always to fool a dumb guard so the girls can move on, and not gonna lie it’s already a little tiring to see, but I do understand that this is her “skill”. I just kind of wish Dorothy were a little more involved because she’s just become this one trick pony. I actually find it rather ridiculous that every male guard she’s encountered so far has fallen for her seductions. If these men are so weak for boobs, then they shouldn’t be guards. You can call Beatrice a one trick pony with her voice changes, but honestly her voice manipulations are a lot more convenient and important to the team. I mean, it was just one guard, they could have easily have taken out the one guard quietly and taken the key instead of having Dorothy seduce him. I’m just waiting for Dorothy to come across a man that isn’t fazed by her seductions and boobs, either because he’s gay or because he’s an actual competent guard. Either would be fantastic.

Either way, Beatrice fools the other with her voice and that gives Ange the chance to head down to the room to where the prototype is supposed to be, but it’s not.

I…really wish they had explained this and I keep getting frustrated when they just keep showing us these abilities Cavorite can allow you to do but again no explanation. Ange throws her own C-ball into the middle of the room and shoots a bullet at it to make it show dust particles? Which glowed to show the shape of the room before it was emptied out and moved. At this point, all of these cool things are starting to become asspulls. Because we don’t know anything about Cavorite and its capabilities, we don’t know that it can do things like this and it’s honestly frustrating. Through that little trick Ange did, and a comment one of the guards said, she figured out the researchers moved out and are traveling on boat. The girls reach a bridge near where the ship was, Princess proves herself to be on their side, and Dorothy feels better about her. The girls head onto the boat, save the spy, and have the researchers arrested and the prototype if custody. And even though Dorothy trusts Princess, higher up says the world is only black and gray. And funny enough, they all decide on the name The White Pigeons.

I don’t know if I understood correctly, but Chise sounds like a double agent herself. I can’t really say too much about her as she was never properly introduced to us. From the conversation we got, Chise is there to see whether or not the Kingdom and Commonwealth can be trusted, and who they can ally with (and by they, I suppose it’s Japan). Chise seems to really like being in the group, describing Princess in a friendly way. Figuring out whether the Kingdom or Commonwealth is more trusting is their true cause, so I wonder what they said to the spy group that let Chise join the group.

The episode was fine, but with a little gripes from me. A little weaker than last week’s episode. I don’t know whether they’re going to keep skipping around or continue from here, I just hope with what they’re planning with this show will actually make sense, and not confusing when it doesn’t need to be.

Also, they’re not sisters. They’re just friends. Would have been more interesting if they were related. Mm. :/

Unfortunately still a weeb

Princess wouldn’t be the first to air its episodes non-chronologically; the anime for Suzumiya Haruhi purposely aired that way too.

I think Chise’s definitely working for Japan.

Haruhi is the only other anime I can think of that aired its episodes non-chronologically, and it’s been a REALLY long time since I’ve seen it, so I don’t even remember if it contributed to the story or not. Releasing episodes out of order is a really risky and bold move, and I just hope the writers know what they’re doing.

Just to avoid destroying your sisters theory, the word that the translators decided to translate as “friends” is often simply translated as “acquaintance.” All it really means is “people who know each other.” Ange doesn’t want the rest of the team to know that she and Princess knew each other from when they were children. There’s nothing actually in there about their relationship.

As for Ange’s trick with the cavorite ball, it’s still just gravity. It makes things glow when it’s affecting them. She used it to spread a wide effect over all the dust in the room, making it glow and lifting it up. By seeing where the dust was, and where it wasn’t, she could get a grasp of what had been in the room. Everything cavorite has done so far has been about removing gravity, and this is no different.

I’ll take your word for the sisters/friends thing.

I understand that cavorite is all about gravity, but making the dust recreate where it had been before? That I find hard to believe. Surely the dust would had spread around when the men had moved all of the equipment out of the room, not stay in the same place where the objects were when they were in place. :/
