It’s official: Linklestone Topaz is now my favourite Precure Power. The sweet outfits were incredibly deceitful of what they could actually pull off. The only thing I saw coming was the shields factor, but the hammer and boomerangs- or the fact it looks like they can create a tool of whatever they want makes this transformation fun and exciting, perfectly reflecting the nature of the Topaz Linklestone. Since it is now my favourite, I really hope we will see a lot of it in the future. It makes me excited to see what they can create and wield with this power, especially since Precure is well known for their super strength.

Mahou Tsukai Precure Ep 11 Img 0005Since they girls have left the Magic World, they have to follow strict rules that discourages them to use magic, let alone in public. There is a punishment if they fail to abide the rules, which involves taking away their wands for god knows how long. However the punishment wasn’t enough to prevent both Riko and Mirai from using their magic. Late for school? Screw running, just fly to school! Fly high and fast they said, and everything would be okay. Actually far from it in fact. Both of them were spotted by a fellow classmate (luckily for them she did not see their faces) who tells the entire class about it the second she walks in late. And seconds after that happens, the same girl sees Mofurun walking out of the classroom. What a hectic start to the day! Although the rules have been established, there were no follow ups of strikes or punishments. With that in mind I wonder just how many times the girls will be able to get away with using magic in public and how will they respond when or if they are ever caught.

Mahou Tsukai Precure Ep 11 Img 0009The focus of the episode was less on the girls being rules breakers and more on Mofurun. He was the main character for the week. Now blessed with the ability to walk and talk, Mofurun no longer wants to sit and wait for Mirai to return home from school like he used to when he couldn’t move. So today he and Haa decided to sneak into her bag so they can check out what’s it like to be at school. While Mofurun apologizes and acknowledges he was acting selfishly, he decision to sneak with them paid off for the greater cause. Had he and Haa not been there, the enemy would have easily picked up Topaz Linklestone. It was thanks to him and his courage that the enemy did not get a hold of it.

Mahou Tsukai Precure Ep 11 Img 0019Haa like a pokemon undergone another evolvution. She is not only bigger now, but can talk a little bit. It looks like she had involved because she wanted to speak out on behalf of Mofurun to explain the reasons behind his actions. She also showed herself to be quite powerful as even before she evolved, she was able to protect Mofurun from a laser beam that made me shout in surprise!

And finally, we learned that the Crystal-ball actually has a name: Cassie.

Topaz looks like the most… well… magical of the Precure forms, allowing them to conjure whatever they can imagine.
So now that the primary stones are all collected, they still have a bunch of secondary stones out there to serve as powerups.
I wondered if Haa-chan would reveal that she really had a different name once she could speak, but it sounded like she was sticking with the one they gave her. Which makes sense from a logical standpoint (she’s just a kid, and the only name she knows is the one her “parents” gave her), but feels a bit nonstandard from a storytelling standpoint. Also, I suspect she isn’t done growing, and eventually she’s going to reach an apparent age where that name doesn’t fit her as well.

So the full name is Izayoi Riko? Wow that’s a really nice name, reminded me of a “black rose witch” in Yugioh 5D’s call Izayoi Aki! (By the way, “Izayoi” means “sixteen-day moon”, referring to the phase when the moon begins to wane. It can be seen as a parallel to Asahina that translates to “morning sun.” So “waning moon” Izayoi as a foil to “morning sun” Asahina.)
But back to the episode, don’t really care about Topaz form & Haa-chan’s growth cuz as early as episode 1 I already predicted how the writers would eventually shoot themselves in the foot for using the concept of 2 inseparable Precures from different worlds attending separate schools AND GUESS WHAT?? One of my worst fears had realized: Riko’s enrollment in the magical school was deliberately cut short now that she’s officially enrolled in Mirai’s school as an exchange student FOR A BLOODY YEAR!! (And I don’t buy the “exchange student” crap in all honesty, who knows Riko will ultimately decide to stick with Mirai after the season finale thus holding on to the good-old Precure mantra, “We’re gonna stay together always~~!!”) I knew that Precures from various worlds will enroll in several schools in a single season (especially for Ako and Aguri, they’re unfit for middle schools) but this one is, by far, the MOST ABSURD, since it actually required the plot to switch off one school career to accommodate another one, meaning that all of Riko’s supplementary lessons that she passed all amounted for nothing because she still missed the second year of her school!! And that also brought me to Riko herself, I don’t know, she just seems PERFECTLY fine with it as she could stay with Mirai, just for the sake of retrieving Linkle Stones on Earth (and given the green light by the Principal), utter bullshit, it means the Magical world will be sidelined for the large parts of the story!! What about the Principal (might be drooling over Mirai as I write this -_-“) pulling the strings himself perhaps to confront a greater evil as the previous Precure seasons liked to play that out? Wasn’t he the one who let Mirai enroll into the magical school at the start (after a magical stick was born out of THAT tree), then him allowing Riko to leave and settle at Mirai’s world (enrolling into her school too) because of the Topaz (or maybe more) Linkle Stone(s)? Whatever, the Magical world is too important to ignore for the storyline therefore they might return there for really important events, but I don’t think Riko will have any excuse to end her lessons in non-Magical world so abruptly now that she’s officially enrolled so… Onions, someone is cutting onions here T_T Seriously hope Riko will return to the Magical school cuz NO WAY it only provides classes up until second year, and I’ll not accept she’ll be back AFTER the season is concluded (or never return at all)!
Overall, the concept of 2 inseparable Precures from different worlds attending separate schools was really ridiculous from the start and seeing how the writers kinda screwed the storyline thus far, uggh it makes Mahou Tsukai even more cringeworthy to watch 😛

My favorite is the sapphire outfit. I love shades of blue and purple, and the sapphire outfit is one of the more realistic outfits and it has a sense of simple elegance and beauty. Topaz seems to go for cute, and diamond seems to go for nobility/striking.
And I can’t wait for Haa-chan to reach the age in which Saori Hayami can voice the tones she usually use: Shinoa, Shirayuki, etc…
And they have badly handled Mirai and Riko trying out school from the different worlds. I can tell it will be a while before we see something as good as Go! Princess again because this MT seems more than likely to go down the sour path reminiscent of HP and DD

First I would like to write that I really liked the Topaz outfits, and their ‘shapeshifting items’! Those outifits and items are so cool and cute at the same time. ^^
This episode is nice and has funny moments, and is really focused on Mofurun this time.
I can’t stop wondering about that student, named Kana Katsuki, who saw TWO magical or unusual things on that day and what will be her fate in this series. Curious and curious. And I loved Riko’s and Kana’s expressions when she asked ‘You saw them too, right?’ and Riko nervously makes an excuse, but I was like ‘Did she bought it?’. Well, let’s see what happens. ^^
Haa-chan has made a big surprise as well! So she has some sort of magic, and pretty strong ones now! Glad to see that and that she’s growing up and can speak now! And I think she’s getting close to reach her final growth stage and her magic will get stronger, but I wonder how much and what kind of magic she’ll have for the Duo of Cure Witches and Mofurun. 🙂
