GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! THEY JUST HAD TO END IT THERE! *FLIPS DESK* STUPID CLIFFHANGERS!!!!
WHY DID THEY END IT THERE?!??! I don’t know what is more frustrating about this episode, the fact that everyone we were treated to the preview last week was pieces from the beginning and the cliffhanger or the fact this looks like it might be a pattern for the next few episodes. (We have been spoiled with so much plot development!) But that’s exactly what had happened. This episode was such a tease. They baited us with the juicy stuff in the beginning, then a moment of peace in the middle, (which felt like took up the majority of the episode) and then more shit hitting the fan at the end.

Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V Ep 47 Img 0006Right off the bat, they showed us just how terrifying Yuuri’s character is. He is not an opponent you want to cross unless you have the ability to defeat him. When he confronts Yuzu, he shamelessly gloats about being responsible for kidnapping Ruri and Rin (Synchro!Yuzu), straight up tells her that he is assigned by the Professor to capture her, and shown us he enjoys playing with a preys who prove to be worth hunting. Seriously though, he’s scary. The way he talks, his mannerism, his expressions- the entire combination is what makes him an intimidating character.

Learning the truth behind Ruri’s and Rin’s disappearance both angers and scares Yuzu, and I loved the way she responded (also couldn’t help but laugh when she made the mistake of thinking Yuuri is Yuugo). She slapped his hand away, did some badass back-flips (they are not important, but it just makes her even more awesome!) and stood her ground. But the moment she realized he is not an opponent to recklessly duel against, she makes the decision to simply just run for it- which was her best bet for survival. Yuzu had every right to be frighten about her safety. She finds two of her opponents sealed into cards and her enemy casually going on about how he’s going to capture her. Can’t blame her for being so shaken.

Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V Ep 47 Img 0029At first, I had initially thought Yuugo appeared thanks to Yuzu’s prayer, but when I went back to double-check, I was able to confirm it was him simply appearing at that very moment she needed help the most. That being said, the mystery behind Yuzu’s bracelet remains at large, but as I have more or less suspected from the beginning, the Professor is probably seeking those bracelets and intends to use them to “unite the worlds”. The interesting pattern we have seen since the beginning of the show is how Yuuya’s AU!brothers cannot be in the same time and place whenever Yuzu is at the scene. Why this is the case, we don’t know- earlier on I theorized it was a sort of safety mechanism, meant to keep the parallel world selves from encountering each other. However I only take the theory now with a grain of salt now since we have yet to see further examples to determine whether or not Yuzu’s bracelet only effect the Yuuya, Yuuto, Yuugo and Yuuri as she and Selena are not affected. On top of that, we have yet to see if the same effect would apply to Selena’s, Rin’s and Ruri’s bracelets. With Yuuya, Yuugo and Yuuri wandering about, there are certainly opportunities to see whether or not Selena’s bracelet has the same effect.

Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V Ep 47 Img 0033Yuzu was extremely fortunate for Yuugo’s excellent timing. If it weren’t for him showing up, forcing Yuuri to be teleported elsewhere by the effect of her bracelet, Yuzu would have probably been captured and it would have resulted her disappearing without a trace (unless Reiji’s surveillance cameras had caught it). What’s even better is that Yuugo has finally been blessed upon the opportunity to clear up the misunderstandings revolving around his name and clarify that he is Yuugo- heck, even Academia’s Obelisk Force thought he was an ally when he introduced himself! Thanks to Reiji’s surveillance around the city, he was able to witness Yuugo stepping into to save the last LDS Idol boy standing, (which happened to be the Pretty Boy- who reveals to be no where near courageous as his charisma makes him out to be) and met up with Yuzu, mistaking her for Rin. Yuzu has proven to be a great communicator so I do look forward to seeing her help him out (maybe they will come up with a nickname for him). But with not knowing where Yuuri was thrown to, I hope for Yuzu’s safety that they stick together (fortunately they were whisked off together since they were holding each other when Yuuya showed up at the scene).
Dennis is as we all had feared after seeing his shady encounter in the preview a few weeks ago. He is a two-faced prick who is working along Academia and is BFFs wth Yuuri to the boot. He plays dumb when Yuuya and Gongenzaka tell him of the situation and ARG, SEEING HIS REACTION OF THINKING YUURI HAD ALREADY CAPTURED YUZU MADE MY BLOOD BOIL. NOBODY TOUCHES MY BABIES. I just want Gongenzaka and Yuuya to be as far away as possible from this guy. Man they are going to be so upset when they find out he is part of Academia.
Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V Ep 47 Img 0021I couldn’t be more proud of Yuuya for using his brain and having so much faith in Yuuto. Now that he is aware there is darkness threatening to take over, he follows his father’s words of having the courage to face his fears and win. With the development of the circumstances surrounding them, it makes me curious to see how Yuuya will behave when he encounters the enemy once more. With so much chaos unfolding, and the conflict of being possessed by darkness, it is good to see that Yuuya is becoming more mature as a character. He is not letting his emotions get the better of him. Having Gongenzaka and Mieru provide him an explanation of what is happening to him helped him calm down since his confusion and being out of the loop was one of the main reasons for his hysteria. Now he is using his head and is trying to stay grounded. This is why I am curious to see whether or not his entertainment style will be something he will make an effort to deliver in his upcoming duels. Seeing Yuuto’s traumatic memories of his city being invaded and witnessing fellow competitors being sealed into cards, survival instincts are kicking in and Yuuya finally accepts that they are in a dangerous situation.
Next week I am both anxious and excited to see how Selena is going to handle the situation. Sora defeated Shun and Selena was there to witness both Sora’s comments and Shun’s defeat. What’s bigger is that she is going to try and help him escape from Sora’s grasp. I am nervous because Sora is (of course) going to be tailing them and it makes me worried about how he will interfere with her attempt to hear Shun’s side of the story, and more about his sister Ruri and Shun is in no condition to protect himself. We can only hope that Yuuya and the others will run into them before anything bad happens to him- but as much as I hate to say it: things are looking grim for Shun. If they lose him, that’s going to be a major blow to Reiji’s Lancaster group.
Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V Ep 47 Img 0018To make matters worse, Reiji’s countermeasure plan is already crumbling. The audience in the arena are fed up with the feeds being down, the MC just wants to do his job, but he can’t- it is only a matter of time before the start to riot and force themselves out of the arena. But that isn’t the worst part: the LDS Idols didn’t stand a chance against the Obelisk Force. The only one who escaped alive was the charismatic pretty boy (who is not as courageous as his charisma makes him out to be) and that was thanks to Yuugo intervening. Reiji is still attempting to recruit his Lancers, but time is running out and ultimately the only ones who are going to survive are the ones who are adapting to the situation and making sure they are at least sticking together in pairs or groups. But as the LDS Idols showed us today, outnumbering the enemy doesn’t matter if you’re not strong enough to overcome their dirty plays. Reiji is counting on Yuuya’s generation to embrace Pendulum Summoning and expects them to become stronger if they are able to succeed pulling it off. And honestly, while I agree it’s the best tool they have to counter Academia, sooner or later Academia is going to adapt and learn the ways of Pendulum Summoning and learn to shut them down. This is clearly where being a versatile duelist becomes an advantage and will play an important role in the upcoming fight, perhaps even more so than being able to Pendulum Summon.
Last but not least, Sawatari surprised us with his sudden appearance questioning what is going on with the tournament. With the Elite Youth LDS Idols eliminated, Reiji provides Sawatari a a “revival match” opportunity- however Sawatari has no idea what he is actually in store for. All Reiji is doing right now is taking advantage of Sawatari’s desire to get back into the game in order to send out another man out into the field in hopes to that he will be strong enough to stand his ground against Academia’s grunts. And boy, this guy is in for a nasty surprise. The least Reiji could have done was tell him of the circumstances instead of blindly sending him into the battlefield.
Not really sure what is going to happen to Mieru, but she kind of knocked herself unconscious after slipping on the ice. Hopefully she’ll be awake sooner than later, because they are going to need all the help they can get.
Next week! Reira VS Blue Haired Kid are up against each other for the Junior Finals!
SPOILER ALERT: NOBODY CARES.

Random Note: Yuugo’s theme music is hands down my favorite piece to date.

It’s nice to know the name of the Synchro counterpart of Yuzu after waiting a while for it.
As for the Reira vs Tatsuya duel, while it’s nice to see how Tatsuya duels, there are so many other more interesting things to see. The writers better have some surprises in store for that particular duel.
And yes, the writers are very evil as far as cliffhangers are concerned.

Hopefully they will make Reira VS Tatsuya duel interesting if they plan to drag it out.
Yes the writers are truly evil when it comes to cliffhangers. HOW COULD THEY END IT THERE?!?!?!?! *CLAWS FOR NEXT EPISODE* 😉 They know how to keep their audience hooked!

First of all, it has been a long time since I last said anything, how are you?
Second thing: That wasn’t Neo Domino City, it was Heartland if you lookd at the buildings. Besides, Synchro World wasn’t invaded yet.
Yuu suffered a lot of badass decay, but then again I can’t blame him, he had a perfectly natural reaction and it makes us appreciate our main characters even more because even if they are facing terrifying enemies they are still holding their ground, and it kind of paralellel Yuzu’s situation quite well, just that Yuzu didn’t react as silly as him. I do find weird that they decided to spare him, so there is a veeeeeery slim chance of him getting stronger and redeeming himself in the future? I dunno, unless you’re named “Eita” Arc V likes to make his side characters important.
Yuzu doing backflips was important to me because I always wondered if she could pull stunts like Yuya did, it was nice to have a confirmation for that(and it looked badass), seeing Yuzu o angry was nice too, Yuzu has a lot of reactions, I think it’s nice, and I dided laughing when Yugo hugged her lol, he must be the Yu with the closest bond with his Yuzu.
Yuri was terrifying, I’m impressed how Ono pulled it so well, and speaking of Ono, its nice that Yuya got his shit together in a beliveable way, but more shit is coming to break him, so I wonder how well he will deal with it.
I hope Yuzu learns Synchro Summon with Yugo and on the plus side also learn how to ride a motorcycle, how badass would it be to see Yuzu appearing on a kickass D-Whell, Running over everyone and Synchro Summoning left and right? Damnnnnn!!!

    1. Eva

Yes it has been a while!!! XD I’m doing good, just internally freaking out as usual.
LOL yeah you’re right about that. I fixed it thanks! It was 4am when I finished writing this and I was staring at the flashback real closely and I was like, “Is that Heartland or Neo Domino… and then my brain was like, fuck it it’s Neo Domino.” XD Regardless Rin being captured does hint the potential of the Synchro Realm being invaded since I assume they needed to get information on Rin in order to target her. Or, Yuuri just waltz into the peaceful city, did his mission and the two disappeared without a trace.
Yuzu is QUEEN. AND YES PLEASE, SYNCHRO SUMMON LESSONS WITH YUUGO~ Also just riding a D-Wheel would make her even more kickass. AHAHAHA, YES I LOVE IT.

I think what killed it for me with Yuu was that he ran away with his arms in the air. That kind of just made the moment WTH?

      1. Eva

Yeah it was weird decision. I get it was supposed to be for laughs, but I found it to be too random than being funny.

        1. partner555

Really? I thought it was al least worth a chuckle.

eva i have a great news there will be new opening and ending song from episode 52 which mean from that episode we will begin the second part of arc v. i hope we will see ruri or rin in this new opening of the second part

    1. Eva

HELL YEAH! BRING ON THE NEW OP! IT’S GONNA BE SICK!!!! 8D

I know I hate it when people wish for real-life decks to appear in the show because most of the time its just them not thinking things through (like people stating that Yuzu or Sora will use Shaddolls….like WTF? All because Sawatari changed his deck doesn’t mean everyone else is. Also it is confirmed that the next deck Sawatari uses will be his permanent one)…but I hope either Ruri or Rin uses the new archetype that came out “Aromage’s”. Their artwork is so good!!!! (though its not known if they’re a Synchro, XYZ, or Fusion deck….better not be Fusion. I’m getting tired of that already). Now that everyone is separated, I can only hope there’s a tag match involving Yugo and Yuzu together (and what do you think of Yuzu’s dub name…its going to be freaking Zuzu!?!?! That sounds like a name you give your pet….)

    1. Eva

On top of that, it’s Sawatari’s character to constantly switch decks because when they don’t live up to his expectations because he considers them trash.
I get people wanting the real-life decks to show up in the show (especially Shaddolls because they are awesome = v =), but hoping the main characters to switch it up is asking too much. The best we could hope for is a new character using the deck, but that’s about it.
Ugh when I heard her dub name is Zuzu, I was 10000% done with it. The YGO dubs are so ridiculous to begin with, like I can’t believe how much content they actually change. When I compared the Eng Dub to the Eng Subs of YGO GX, I as ASTONISHED of how much they butchered the characters and storyline. Like, why- why do they change the script so much? Ugh, it saddens me.

      1. nanon

I thought that the Zuzu name change was only for the German dub? Are they really going with Zuzu in the English dub as well, that’s….a weird change.
There’s apparently some musical reason to change her name to Zuzu in the German dub, so even if it sounds dumb, ~~they have a reason~~. But. why.

  5. Miriki Takato

SERIOUSLY,THE CLIFF HANGER IS SO EVIL
Can’t wait for the next ep, it will be interesting to see Serena and Shun, since the preview next ep said Serena holding wounded Shun in her arms. I was like wtf when reading that line and my shippy sense tingled so much, lol.
It’s nice to know the bracelet can also affect Yuzu if she is in physical contact with Yu. I laughed so much when people just constantly mistook Yuugo. Poor boy, he should have a nickname soon.
Hand down for Yuuri, you know what, I actually like him as a villain. He is not crazy as Sora, his smile and sacarm is too well done, Ono is amazing for pulling off both Yuuya ad Yuuri so well. I find it’s interesting when they have the same seiyuu but not Yuugo and Yuuto, and so does Yuzu and Serena. It must have some meaning when their fusion clones have the same seiyuu, and it is probably not a coincident that Yuuya and Yuzu learnt Fusion.

    1. Eva

Hahahaha IKR? Everyone is like, “HOLD HIM!” But in all seriousness, it’s SO IMPORTANT for Serena to know his side of the story. Even if she doesn’t believe him, what will be important is that it will still linger in the back of her head and make her start questioning the Professor and Academia’s invasion.
It doesn’t look like she knows about the orders to kidnap her au!sisters and even worse fails to realize that the professor probably intends to keep her imprisoned there for the sake of his plans and never let her on the field regardless of her extraordinary abilities. Serena rebelling against Academia will most likely play a crucial role in foiling whatever plans he has for them.
I absolutely agree. Yuuri’s persona makes him feel like a true villain to fear, Sora is just batshit insane.

  6. nanon

Ahh I was waiting for Serena to meet up with Sora! Suppose we’ll have to wait until next episode to see her reaction to the shining epitome of fusion honour and dignity. I will always find it hilarious that Sora completely forgets what his mission is supposed to be until he completely screws up his odds for success. And that Serena ran right up to him and he still didn’t remember pffft. I’m a bit disappointed that apparently Shun wasn’t literally carried off in Serena’s arm like they said in the previews, that made for so many good images /sigh
AND DENNIS YOU DOUCHEBAG, Yuuya will be devastated when he finds out.. I wonder how much Academia knows about Yuushou and Yuuya though. Was it just “find the Standard guy that looks like Yuuri” thing, or is there another reason to use Yuushou as a reason to get close to Yuuya… wonder how long it’ll be until he realizes that no, Yuuri did not finish his job already.
Other than that, it’s really sweet how much faith he has in Yuuto. He only met him the once – and first saw him attacking his friend as well – but he’s still believing that Yuuto’s not the cause for all his violent breakouts. And he’s really taking the realization that Yuuto now only exists inside him really well (“duel de egao” on repeat aside)
It’s kind of amazing how much trouble the LDS Idol group had against the Obelisk force.. no one there had any countermeasures against effect damage at all??? But Yuugo, that dork, at least now he has video evidence of what his name actually is. And lmao at him speeding up a building and into the air during the duel. And he was on that pillar surrounded by lava earlier, how did he even get there. And his “sora wa dou kana”!!! His theme song is my second favourite after Yuzu’s theme in the ice duel for me, the beginning of his is really engaging.
And Yuzu was really lucky that Yuugo showed up when he did! Yuuri was so smug and self-assured, taunting Yuzu and going “yes, I did that. I carded your friends. I kidnapped Ruri and Rin. I’m going to kidnap you. Do you have to be so mad”. It’s like he really doesn’t care what the professor is up to as long as he gets to have his fun.
We finally have Synchro!Yuzu’s nameeee! I was surprised when Yuzu was teleported away with Yuugo, but then again, I suppose that’s the first time she was actually holding onto one of them when that happened.. And it’s pretty cute that Yuugo and Yuzu don’t think about breaking the hug as they try to get their bearings together.
Also Nico really deserves a raise, poor guy.

    1. Eva

She might have to haul him when she creates cover (by the sound of it from the preview) so that they can escape. I’m not entirely sure if Shun will be able to stand right away, especially considering how injured he is. But it would be hilarious and awesome to see her actually carrying him in her arms LMFAO. That would be glorious.
Hopefully Dennis will not know about Yuzu being safe, because it will allow him to worry about one less person regarding whose side he is on. BUT GRRRR. GONGENZAKA WILL CRUSH YOU FOR BREAK YUUYA’S HEART.
What I loved about Yuuto’s and Yuuya is that they had an instant connection. They started off on a rough note, but the moment they realized neither had any intention of harming the other, they understood each other. The two are truly like brothers, and their their desire to keep dueling true to its safe and fun activity is something they both strongly believe in. If Yuuto hadn’t disappeared, these two would probably be awesome tag-team bros. That’s why it makes me so happy (tears up) how much faith Yuuya has in him despite their short and brief meeting.
I’m wiling to bet Yuugo’s dragon poofed him to that spot, otherwise he had launched himself there from a building (totally possible with D-Wheels XD). HIS THEME SONG IS AMAZINGGGGGG, GIMME THE OST, I WANT THE FULL TRACK AND I WILL PLAY IT ON REPEAT FOR MONTHS TO COME!
// Yuuri was so smug and self-assured, taunting Yuzu and going “yes, I did that. I carded your friends. I kidnapped Ruri and Rin. I’m going to kidnap you. Do you have to be so mad”. It’s like he really doesn’t care what the professor is up to as long as he gets to have his fun. //
And that is exactly what makes Yuuri so scary.
LOL You know if Nico were the MC from 5Ds, he would’ve broken out of the arena already. When you have a passionate MC, nothing can stop them from covering the match- even if it the world is at the brink of disaster. LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!
