The first half, and the first arc of this season, has come to an end. Everything goes well for our adventurers, but there seems to be a threat arising. Well, not surprised since the opening basically tells you what’s going to happen.

lh12.9What Shiroe really wanted wasn’t wealth, but instead to buy the rights of Akihabara and the other facilities like the Guild Hall, etc., to the Yamato servers. Shiroe had made a contract, and when ripping it, the contract goes into affect. With the peace in Akihabara, Shiroe and the Round Table don’t need the rights to the Guild Hall anymore. If any problem arises, they can solve it in a number of other ways. After the contract being fulfilled, all the money that they had spent now returns back to them. But with that money, they want to purchase all the field zones in Yamato. Everything. And reassign the rights. They want to get rid of purchasable zones as well, since adventurers are the only ones that can buy them, not the People of the Land. So that can cause some issue and conflict, so Shiroe wants to get rid of them before that even happens and they could all live without dangers. That’s really what Shiroe had in mind.

When he explains it, it all makes sense. It’s true that they don’t really need the rights to the Guild Hall and such in Akihabara. Everyone gets along and knows who’s who. Everything sounds like it’ll go well.

As with the raid, they all managed to defeat the raid bosses and complete the raid zone. All of their hardwork, and they were able to come together and defeat such harrowing obstacles. But they did it, and I was pretty happy for them. Who knows how many memories they lost after dying over and over again. Their treasures and rare items await them. What’s also super cool was that a giant slab appeared, and it automatically put everyone’s names on the slab, specifically saying that they were the first ones to complete that raid. And since the Kunie Clan keeps this raid zone a secret, they’ll probably be the only ones who complete that raid zone. Just imagine. They’re the only badasses to have completed the raid zone, and they have something to show for it. God, it’s just awesome.

And so they leave. The Silver Sword guild return to Susukino to protect it. Demikas, who I thought was going to ruin everything, is actually in high spirits. His People of the Land “wife” (as Tetra calls her) notes this, and he’s blushing and shit. Really cute. Pretty happy for him. Shiroe realizes just how shitty he had been towards Demikas, and how he took out his confusion and anger out on him after the Apocalypse. Not saying a person’s name is like not treating them like a human. But at least after their one conversation, they both came to an understanding.

So Shiroe, Naotsugu, and Tetra ride on griffins back to Akihabara. And…did you know…that Tetra is actually a guy? Did you fucking know that? I’ve been fooled all this time? That…Tetra is a boy? And somehow Shiroe already knew that, and they’re keeping that a secret from Naotsugu?

Boy?

Does this have to do with the gender thing from that one conference? I have no idea. I literally…just had to pause the video, and…just sit there. Just sit and feel like an idiot.

lh12.36
BOY

Anyway, they arrive and the Log Horizon guild, and Marie and Henrietta greet them. Yay.

Before that, we get a scene with some scary looking random people. And it’s that cat/fox/thing girl from the last episode last season! I had no idea who they were at first, but when Shiroe mentioned some names, they’re actually that Tea Party guild Shiroe had been with before. I don’t know what they’re up to, but I have a feeling like it’s not good. Really not good.

Next week will be filler. A Valentine’s Day episode. Fuck. Maybe it’ll be good, but the last time they did a filler episode with romance in it (episode 21 last season I think?), it was pretty dumb and it was the only episode out of season one that I didn’t like. Maybe it won’t be as annoying, but then there’s Tetra making Marie jealous when clinging to Naotsugu, and Minori and Akatsuki with Shiroe. Like…I’m not looking forward to that too much. Maybe if we get cute shippy stuff with Isuzu and Rudy, it won’t be so bad. Can’t wait to see these scary Tea Party members later.

Unfortunately still a weeb

To be more precise, Tetra WAS a boy in the “real” world. However, just like how Akatsuki was using a male avatar and got stuck in it when the Apocalypse happened until Shiroe got her the appearance change potion, Tetra was using a female avatar and thus, biologically speaking, is 100% female. And yes, that gender thing is related. You may recall that Akatsuki still had her female voice despite her male avatar when she spoke to Shiroe back in episode 1, before she changed. However, it’s been noted that the voices, and possibly even the mentalities, of people who are in opposite-gender avatars (like Tetra) are changing to match their avatar. Adventurers are slowly becoming less like the person they were in the real world, and more like their avatar in the game world.

Simply speaking, Tetra is probably becoming a girl psychologically, to match the fact that she already is one physically.

You too need remember that Akiba’s research team discovered that the trans-gender effect is going stronger with time, like everyone now know how to cook and the weapons text going real. So, Tetra will go more female over time. And Nyanta will go more cat and Akatsuki will go more ninja.
