La Corda d'Oro - Blue Sky Ep 10 Img 0016MAN, THIS EPISODE WAS AWESOME- though I am pretty damn sure it was Tsukimori that made it all more worthy. I litterally screamed and flailed when I heard Ave Maria again because I knew right away that it was Tsukimori and I was like, “AHHHH AVE MARIE, YES YES YES YES PLEASE TSUKIMORI OR HINO PLEASE TALK TO HER YESSSSSSSSS– NO IT’S TSUKIMORI OMGGGGG YESSSS WE FINALLY SEE HIM!!! FUCK YEAHHH!! WOOO! TSUKIMORI-KUNNNNN“, but my heart dropped when I realized that he was playing it at the grave because I dreaded the idea of Hino a character I love being dead and I was bracing myself to flip shit (worse of all I can’t read the engravings on the grave, but I’m not sure if anyone can because it’s pretty scrunched up together making it hard to read the characters). It was great to have him of all people explain and give Kanade a sense of direction of what she was missing as the first violinist, especially the part when he told her that she should define what makes her love the piece so much along with what makes it pretty. And that is what makes this a great episode for Kanade’s character development. She wasn’t mopping around like she usually does, instead she was trying to figure it out, and by seeking others’ hints and advice, she was able to get back onto the right path along with the motivation she needs in order to make it a beautiful performance.
La Corda d'Oro - Blue Sky Ep 10 Img 0007It was certainly an intense scene when Kanade had been brought by Amane’s Academy’s Director to meet the Headmaster Alexei. From earlier in the episode, we saw that Alexei was messing with Reiji’s ensemble, withdrawing Amamiya from the competition because he “reached his goal” (aka applying ‘love’ to his performances) and it would be meaningless to continue competing, so instead he will be leaving the next day to study oversees, (what the actual fuck man!?). Reiji is naturally pissed off about that and flat out told him that he has no intention of changing any of their plans. Oh man, Reiji just can’t catch a break with this guy. Speaking of Alexei , it turns out Nia is actually his niece (welp so much of Nia being a cat, though there is definitely a possibilities that she still might be…) and arrived just at the knick of time before Alexei pressured Kanade to quit both the competition and Seiso Academy and come to theirs’ instead. She revealed to Kanade later to not to get involved with him, as he has a reputation for ruining musicians on the whim. And it’s not just that, he and Kanade has a past together so I wonder how the two knew each other, but most importantly, I want to know why Kanade can’t remember. I am guessing that whatever had happened was such a traumatic/shocking event that she has no memory of it except for little bits of it coming back to her as small reminders and hints draw out the pieces of the once lost and scattered puzzle.
I am really looking forward to next week’s episode since I am hoping that we will finally find out Kanade’s and Reiji’s history. Shiori not only wants Kanade to save her brother, but she also claims that she is the only one who can succeed. And she could be right. I am also really looking forward to Seiso’s ensemble piece because it sounds absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to hear the full version and when all the emotions get served on the table. I just hope that they won’t let me down.
