HOLY SHI&$(*@#&%* YOU HAVEN NO IDEA HOW MUCH I FREAKED OUT WHEN THE POWER WENT OFF WHILE WRITING THIS! THANK GOD I DIDN’T HAVE TO START OVER! OMFG. WE’RE KINDA HAVING AN ICE/SNOWSTORM AT THE MOMENT!!!! *(@!&$ JUST WENT OFF ON ME AGAIN. EXPECT DELAYS FOR MY OTHER ENTRIES!!!
I was extremely skeptical about how this episode was going to turn out and the minute I saw it pop up, I decided, “Screw it all, lets forget about the manga, and focus solely on the show itself.” Of course it’s always easier said than done as I had to restrain my brain from making snarky remarks about the arrangements and so on. At least they actually stuck to what happened in the manga a bit more and basically re-arranged the timing (which isn’t uncommon for adaptions), so in sense it was far more tolerable compared the previous episode.
This episode basically wrapped everything up along with Kakeru’s resolution to continue soccer both for himself and Suguru, whose heart now resides him. I was actually happy this episode made me slightly teary because if it didn’t make me emotional- I would’ve been frustrated because the lack of connection with the audience. It was the diary scene in particular that made me teary, without a doubt it was hard for me to see Kakeru read his brother’s dreams and cry as result.
Our unique alien turned out to be Seven. She’s one hell of a player (YOU GO GIRL!), I actually wish that we could see her playing as a teammate or on the girl’s team, otherwise it feels like a waste – if you get what I mean. Seven was also the one to break the news about the truth behind the heart transplant. Of course this was probably the best thing she could do for him because if he had learned about it later on, he probably would’ve regretted it and feel extremely guilty for wasting all that time only thinking about himself.
Overall this was a decent episode, definitely better than the last, it looks like there will be a time jump where Kakeru and Seven will finally be high school students. They will be looking for a guy named Araki Ryuichi, and judging by the preview… The guy probably quit the soccer club or something since he gained a heck of a lot of weight.
