We finally got the chaotic fun that we’ve really been waiting for the past few weeks. The theme park antics was both cute and very fun to watch!
It sure looks like Youta going to be stuck in the friend-zone for a while. He can’t help but be extra clumsy whenever Miki doesn’t think twice about close contact and skinship. His hole system began to malfunction when Miki grabbed onto him from behind (back hug essentially, telling him to ‘take her away’ to boot.) You can only imagine all the romantic stuff running through his head when she said it like that, which is why he ended up walking into a wall. Heck! The guy almost fell back down the stairs into the people behind him because he got startled when she turned around so suddenly, putting their faces so close together. These are things Miki doesn’t think twice about, because she doesn’t see him in romantic light just yet. Instead, his clumsiness makes her think of him as a big baby. Funny, because with Koyuki, he acts like a dad!
But he mind fight some unexpected help from Miki’s brother Yuki, who’s now also at their school. Koyuki wasted no time introducing the two to each other. If there’s any leeway to be made at home, good chance Yuki might actually pick up on Youta’s feelings for his sister, and may even bring it up off-handily in a conversation. Youta probably wouldn’t like that approach, but considering how dense Miki is, he’s going to need all the help he can get just to give her some self-awareness.
As for the ship that was never fated to be, Koyuki’s and Youta’s friendship is so freaking WHOLESOME, I’m here for it! The second Youta realized Koyuki didn’t say anything about her birthday, he freaking went up to the park’s mascot and grabbed a birthday sticker, and slapped it on her hat hahahaha! But it’s also really funny with how extra flustered Youta gets when get gets left alone with Miki. He’s always like: KOYUKI NOOOOO COME BACK!! I’M NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR THIS ON MY OWN! Or at least that’s the internal impression I always get by his distress. It’s hilarious anyhow.
Minato on the other-hand, doesn’t appear to be able to handle rides, or the haunted house. His preference lies in the arcade, where he can score lots of cute prizes. It was sweet of him to give the arcade prize of the plush dog (which Koyuki accidentally blurted out as a suggestion based on her own liking), which was hilariously adorable because Koyuki’s absolutely obsessed with it. She can’t stop fiddling around how cute and plush it is.
But that wasn’t the only thing she thought to be very cute today! When she had later asked Minato if he had a hard time at the haunted out, she wasn’t expecting him to give her such an endearingly cute and honest response. The boy was so flustered that she had noticed, that he couldn’t stop blushing. It was powerful enough to make Koyuki think for the first time: “This boy is so cute.” Well that’s certainly progress… platonically at least! It’ll probably be a long while before Koyuki has any thoughts about getting into a romantic relationship due to her own self-inflicted trauma and external issues that arose because of it.
That’s not great news for Minato however, who’s falling hard and fast! And worse, coming from a guy who clearly has never truly fallen in love before, he’s finding himself quickly becoming jealous of the close bonds Koyuki shares with others, to the point of growing possessive.”I wish she only liked me.” Dial it in boy, don’t let yourself spiral down that rabbit hole. It won’t do him him any favour if he doesn’t keep those feelings in check. That’s would quickly turn into a red flag glaring so bright, Koyuki would be running for the hills, and fast.
Apart from that, with the arrival of Miki’s younger brother Yuki (whom Koyuki is close to since they’ve known each other forever), there’s another sibling of association from middle school that has come into the picture. Atagawa Akine (Atagawa Manatsu from middle school younger sister), looking to be manager for the boys soccer team. She didn’t waste any time to introducing herself to Koyuki with unknown intent.
On the bright note, it’s great to see everyone (except for poor Hayato) in the same class now. I was very pleased to see Tsukiko being welcomed into the circle, and it was hilarious how fast on the up-take she was about noticing Minato’s feelings. It was so funny how she thought she was third-wheeling, not realizing Minato’s feelings are currently unrequited and Koyuki’s completely oblivious to it at the moment! Adorable how a part of her was dying of curiosity and wanted to stay and watch, while the other part of her thought she needed to stop being a third wheel! Hahahahaha!
