Oh my gosh this episode was hysterical! I really enjoyed the chaotic adventure Catherine and Lili embarked on. I couldn’t get over how incredibly stupid they were with immediately assuming Kit was locked up in the tower, not bothering to check first if he really was. And yet these two were trying to figure out how to get through the locked doors, and then Lili choosing to attempt to climb because she had faith in her athletic ability. However it became quickly obvious that climb is not her forte, as she sorely lacks the strength to do so. She found herself clinging for dear life after Aphrodite ended up launching her to an upper level– only for Kit to walk into the scene absolutely bewildered at what these two girls were doing. Thankfully his timely arrival prevented Lili from potentially getting herself seriously injured if not killed from a nasty fall.

In the end, while Kit was not locked in the tower, there were actually a set of back-up keys he and Catherine had hid away when they were children. The problem is that Catherine totally forgot about it in the moment.

We did learn the real reason why Kit hadn’t returned to school, and that’s because as I figured in the last episode, his father had collapsed. With Richard having to take care of the family business in their father’s steed, Kit wanted to at least stay nearby to be by their father’s side so he wouldn’t be alone.

This was pretty much why Richard was rushing the wedding, but what I don’t get is why Henry wouldn’t try stopping him from doing just that. They were really trying to soften Richard’s image by claiming he’s bad at communication like Kit, and he’s just trying to look out for him in his own way… But no matter what, the way I see it is Richard projecting his own value system on to Kit, without actually caring what Kit thinks or how he feels about the matter. Hell I wonder if Kit was even in the loop about him attempting to rush the wedding as soon as the upcoming weekend. We never really got any reaction to that. On top of that, I really don’t like how Richard imposes his own standards onto others, such as scolding Catherine for hanging out with the likes of Lili, how she should be care who she’s friends with and so on forth. Like I get the aristocratically society stuff, but seriously fuck off. And Catherine in a more refined way said just that.

Ultimately this mess with Richard’s attempting to rush the wedding was more or less resolved with Henry assuring Kit that he can continue what he loves, which is art. Henry never had a problem with Kit pursuing it because he too was once an artist himself. He would travel the world to paint various environments, but unlike the case here, he had no choice but to return home to become the head of the family after his elder father had died. Fortunately for him, he found love in Charlotte, his late wife, and the rest was history. That’s why he told Kit, cherish the friends he has now. They are good for him. He had also more or less appears to have given Lili his blessings should she and Kit start dating. He definitely has known for a while now that Kit has strong feelings for Lili, and doesn’t want him to pass up on happiness with a girl who seems to be on the same wavelength as him in terms of passion for the arts.

With all that said and done, goodness, it was rather laughable to see Lili worried about others getting enough sleep but this entire time I’m like: GIRL, YOU HAVEN’T GOTTEN A WINK OF SLEEP FOR THE PAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS, HELL FOR SEVERAL WEEKS NOW! Actually surprised she didn’t pass out at all this episode. I guess she was running on pure adrenaline. She only finally fell asleep on the drive back. Lili deserves a long rest after all the shit she had to go through!
