Whew! We’re finally finished with the difficult part of the move! I really hope this will be the last time we do this because it’s always a stressful process! This move was super important because with the rising costs of just about everything, it was just not sustainable to continue using the former service, so I’m really glad we finally got that out of the way and will be hoping for the best with this one. So far, we’ve had spectacular support to help make this a very smooth process! Considering we’re back online within a matter of hours, I’m very happy with the outcome!
IT’S A GOOD DAY TODAY!
While we got the hard part out of the way, now it’s going to take a bit of a time to refill the house so to speak. Without the luxury of being able to mirror our content, I’m left to restore content bit by bit. Thankfully I managed to get all the galleries sorted out in advance of DNS Update considering the time constraint I was working with. This really helped speed things along!
Anyways lets’ get down to the nitty gritty details about the changes that have been made, and what’s left to be done before the move is fully complete!
Restoration Status Tracker
- All 2021 – 2025 Entries are completely restored!!!!!!!!
While I got up to 2021 entries mostly restored, 2020+ will be restored in a more curated way. This approach is tailored to individually restoring writers’ content due to the sheer file size of each month dating all the way back to 2010. I will be prioritizing the most recent writers, and slowly work my way down the list.
- Image Content between 2010 – 2019 remains broken/missing
(*with a few exceptions of those restored in 2020 due to error in previous migration)
This time, our galleries from March 2020+ didn’t break– largely because after many trial and errors, I’ve finally figured out what went wrong the last time we did the migration! Images from prior that will not be restored unless it’s been done manually by the writers themselves in 2020. Entries between 2011 – 2018 however have been removed from our cloud over time in order to cut down on the cost. However some specific series may have been restored if they’ve been popular enough to do so.
- Current Work In Progress: Last Updated – Dec 26, 2025
- Eva: 100% (I’m putting myself last on the list because I got 15 Years to restore. Easier to start with the shorter ones!)
- Berry: 100% Complete
- Nikolita: 100% Complete
- Shadow: 100% Complete
- Quietcupcake: 100% Complete
- Kazanova: 100% Complete
- Disclaimer Note: Former writers’ (who retired by or before 2020) contents will not be restored at this time!
One of the most difficult decisions I had to make while preparing for this migration was deciding whether or not I would restore all of our past writers contents. This is because the previous migration we did back in 2020 broke all of our images which leaves many of our past writer’s contents incomplete because some of their writing style often required the image and subs on them for context. So I’m troubled whether or not I should exclude it, because it’s a huge chunk of our history. It would feel like a loss not to keep it… It’s a difficult decision to make.
So my goal at the moment is to test and see if I can actually use the media files from the backup I’ve recently found for those members. I haven’t had the chance to actually test it out yet. But I do know from the process of rebuilding the site on this server, that that file is far too large and it’ll actually cause the site to crash and be unresponsive. So I’ll have to see if I can extract the files individually on a separate test server or a different way. That mission will be saved for another day though. It’ll be great if I can get it to work… But yes, that’s the situation at the moment. I’m looking to start testing that out in February and give myself a month to see if it works or not. I’ve been working preparing for this migrations for the past year, so I’d like to take a breather from it.
On the flip-side, having a more contained pool of writers will make it a lot easier for me to re-organize the categories (which I had given up restoring after previous dumpster-fire experience) because there were just too many to sort through on my own. We’re talking over 200 categories… and I haven’t uploaded the bulk of my stuff yet! So I’m definitely going to get THAT sorted out first, and then figure out what’s the best way to proceed.
End of an Era & Going Forward

On September 28th 2025, it was our 15th Anniversary!
Fifteen years is a long time, so at this point I’m sure you’ve noticed that the majority of our writers have more or less permanently retired. Among those I am still in touch with, all of them expressed interest of still participating in one form or another, but finding the time to doing it is increasingly difficult, or there’s just not enough shows of interests nowadays. Simply put, we’ve all grown-up! Whether it’s a change of interests, going back to school, work, getting married, taking care family, or even maybe starting one! New responsibilities meant rethinking our priorities.
And as we come to an end to an era, I’ve have long thought about rebranding the blog, (like for the past four years, I kid you not) but in the end, we just couldn’t settle on anything that could match what makes AngryAnimeBitches so iconic to us. Perhaps when I’m the last one left and I’ll decide to pick a new name, but until then, the name AngryAnimeBitches is here to stay.
That being said, I do think it’s important to explain why I say this is an end of an era. AngryAnimeBitches as we always known it; historically had a large team (typically averaging 4-6 writers per season), which allowed us to cover the vast majority of the shows that came out each season. And today, that no longer exists, and it hasn’t for the last few years now. It is bittersweet to close that chapter, but I don’t see it as a bad thing. It just goes to shows how the blog has evolved accordingly to how our lives have changed. Our blog’s history serves as a legacy we can fondly and proudly look back to!
Nowadays, ‘AngryAnimeBitches’ serves more of a place of personal comfort. A place where we can take a break from real life responsibilities, and simply write about the shows we’re watching, or perhaps whatever games we’re playing, or whatever books we’re reading. At the end of the day, among one of the many reasons why I made this blog in the first place; was to create a safe space to simply express ourselves, regardless whether people agree with it or not. Just like writing a journal, it’s serves as time capsule recording about the passions of our interests, and the friends we’ve made along the way.
And while it may frustrate some that we aren’t doing things like we used to, please understand that the blog now is only run by two people. Both who have jobs, busy lives and gotta deal with grown-up responsibilities. This blog is exists purely for sharing our passion for both anime and writing!
Finally, I want to take a moment to thank all the writers who have joined the team over the years for their support and contribution to this site! I feel privileged to have met so many people from around the world! 9 different countries in-fact!!!! Figuring out how to align everyone’s time zones was heck of an adventure back then! Hahahaha! Those were the days~!
Of course I also want to thank our our readers who have supported us all these years. It’s always a great pleasure to know that you enjoy our content! Thank you to our Patreon and Ko-fi contributors Dario, Luckychansey, and S.J, and our anonymous supporters over the years who have generously donated to us so that we could afford to keep running for as long as we have!
And with that, I will conclude with this…
Thank you for loving AngryAnimeBitches!
And cheers to more years to come!
