A/N: Sorry about how late this had to come out, Family Emergency required my attention, so I could only dish out what I had time for.
“Yeah, I have come to realize idols guide students.”- Michio
I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from S.E.M. Especially with their… unique outfits, but by the end of the episode, I love these guys to death. I always wondered how the three of them ended up leaving their jobs as teachers to become idols, but I certainly did not expect the idea to come from Michio. He came to the conclusion that perhaps it would be more effective to become an idol to guide students, since he hasn’t been able to reach them through their passion of teaching. Rui thought it was a fun idea so came on board, and Jirou only joined the other two once Rui persuaded him with, ‘Idols make a fortune’. Although Jirou’s motivation started out because of money, he certainly doesn’t half ass it and despite the training being difficult, he owns up to it and works hard.
What stood out to me today was Michio, a character I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with. His ‘take-everyting-seriously’ personality is the most charming thing about him. It’s not the point it’s overbearing, but just his way of conveying his passion for teaching and helping others, as well as his determination. He also showed us his softer and more worrying side, like when he felt responsible for Jirou getting sick because they had joined him to exercising in the rain. You just want to hug the guy and tell him it’s okay, it’s not his fault!
It was also Michio, who took matters into his own hands of preparing an exercise routine to help get his team and the other units in shape after the three of them were unable to keep up with the difficult choreography. Funny enough, the guy is supposed to be an idol, but he’s playing the role as the agency’s manager exceptional well. Thanks to that, it has became a routine they do altogether now, one that Jupiter likes to be apart of, so as long as their schedule allows it. In particular I loved the workout scene because it gave us a chance to see everyone interact with one another. It was heartwarming to see how despite the age gaps and different backgrounds everyone is meshing together seamlessly.
It was rather fitting how S.E.M’s first performance was at a prep school event. They first started off with inspiration speech, which had me cracking up – especially when Rui made a bold claim of, his dream is to become Prime Minister. Then the reveal of their flashy outfits was absolute gold, and they owned it. Their songs were also super catchy too, I really enjoyed them a lot! But man I was so bummed out that Crunchyroll didn’t sub the lyrics of the song. I wish they had it, I would have loved to know what the lyrics included, I am sure it would have been hilarious and awesome at the same time! I will probably look for alternative subs though, perhaps I might switch which ones I use from here on out.
Overall this episode was hilarious and charming from start to finish. It gave me a much needed laugh. In all, I am quite pleased with how the series is unfolding thus far, because I really do love the characters. They are all so likeable!
Random Note of the Week: OMFG, AND THE THREE OF THEM HANDED THEIR RESIGNATION, I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN THE REACTIONS, LMFAO!

the lyrics itself imo is really catchy, catchy and very trivial. Like they basically added some science, english and math trivia on the song lol kinda wished the anime covered the whole song… (me wanna see Rui cheering in english, Jiro rapping the periodic table, and Michio stating the whole number of pi, like who doesn’t wanna see that really? XD)
there’s one aspect that i’m glad they revealed it in this episode :
Hokuto and Rui’s relationship.
During the scenes where Hokuto managed to spare some time to visit the prep school to watch Rui’s first live performance and after the perfomance where Hokuto praised Rui for his performance. It adds some existence on Hokuto and Rui’s friendship long before they’ve joined 315 Pro and became idols (they were actually collegemates back then)
Thank you <3 It doesn’t look like the log is filled out yet though ^^;/ It’s coming up blank for me. But I will keep it bookmarked for the future!
Seeing Hokuto make the personal effort to make it to their first performance did the job of touching up on Hokuto and Rui’s friendship, especially since I am one of those who wasn’t aware they knew each other before joining the same agency. I hope we will be able to see the two interact some more in the future!
It’s pretty awesome though <3
i see the problem
