Sorry for the late post, but this week has been super busy and just couldn’t find the time to sit down and write this post up sooner. We finally get the conclusion of the Raiders arc and while it went out with a bang, I was left with more questions than answers… again. At this point I should just expect them to constantly give me more questions with little to no answers given on the daily. Anyways, Noerde literally goes on a suicide attack to basically keep the Cleaners in place while the giant Trash Beast crosses the border. To which, she seemed fully intent on dying with them. If it weren’t for the hole Rudo shot earlier, they could have been in big trouble. Especially since the border was so close.

I think the biggest thing in this episode had to be the encounter at the border. The whole thing in regards to the Border and how people die from it has been a pretty big mystery. Especially since how did Rudo and the masked people cross without any real issues. SOMETHING must be a special thing about them but we just don’t know what it is yet. Anyways, when it flashed to a GIGANTIC being where we couldn’t even see the head, that legit freaked me out. This was the very first hint of what the Watchman are and for some reason I was expecting to be powerful givers… not these monstrosities! I feel like this opened a whole new can of worms and I’m now wondering what exactly are they and do they reside between the border? Not to mention, why are they even separating the Sphere and the Ground? Is it that important to keep them separate? What does it mean to take away everything that is precious to you? I have so many more questions now and I doubt they will be answered any time soon. Not exactly sure what happened to Noerde. She might have been killed, but it felt pretty vague.

We finally get to see kaiju girl’s abilities and to no one’s surprise, it is the kaiju onsie she’s wearing. Though what I didn’t expect was for her to just straight up turn into a kaiju. Her being heavier than she looks legit reminded me of Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist where they hid their true form with a smaller form, but still carried the same weight. Which in itself is pretty cool. And the fact that she could probably get even bigger if allowed makes me wonder just how big she can actually get. Though I am a bit bummed that we didn’t get to see her actually fight in that form and was just used to close up a hole and act as a landing craft. Would have been more interesting to see her help out the other Cleaners in their respective fights and what she is truly capable of in that form. Or at the very least I was hoping we’d see her wrestle with the giant Trash Beast. Even being the one to disrupt Noerde’s attacks would have felt more interesting… and helpful. Hopefully we’ll get another chance to see her fight in the future. Especially since she’s able to change how big she gets, so maybe shes able to move around a lot more in a small kaiju form.

Another character I was a bit bummed we didn’t get to see fight was Fu. They made it seem like he was gonna come in at the last moment to prevent the Cleaners from attacking the core. Especially with how he had this really eerie conversation with seemingly himself or at least I think it was himself. It could be a different entity or a split personality thing. However, what we do know is that the guy cannot take initiative in fights and has to be told to do something. He’s another MIA raider at the moment since we have no clue whether or not he got out of the giant trash beast before it exploded. We can probably assume he left since they built some intrigue around him with the different voice and will probably make another appearance later on.

Another big question at the moment is what the heck happened to Amo. I found it sweet how Rudo went out of his way to grab her boots, even risking falling off if not for Te- gosh, ENJIN. Clearly there is more to it than what we are lead to believe since it’s clear that the Raiders seem to not even know who Amo is. Not to mention Bundus’ comment about Rudo “not knowing” something. Why y’all got to be so cryptic. Let us know if you know her or not, dang it! But nah, they want to keep the mystery going and it’s driving me insane. I can only hope that Amo isn’t just straight up dead, especially since she had so much potential to develop bonds with the Cleaners and actually be with people who won’t take advantage or abandon her.

But man, I feel so bad for Rudo. Poor guy is probably exhausted considering that I don’t even think they even rested after the whole Amo incident. He’s also probably worried sick about her since he wasn’t able to get any information about where or how she is. Not only that but he also has a lot to think about after everything that happened. However, after all of that, Gris tells him he’s glad he’s alright and I don’t fully know what Rudo was feeling in that moment, but the fact he called Gris “big brother” was honestly really sweet. It makes me think that he’s FINALLY allowing himself to grow closer to the others and willing to let his guard down around them. While he had been getting closer to everyone in the Cleaners, I think he still had his walls up and couldn’t fully let them in yet. It wasn’t until he had that conversation with Zodyl that he finally understood what he truly wanted, companionship. He finally has people he can truly rely on and trust without any judgement of who he is and where he comes from. I’m definitely excited to see how his relationship with the others progresses now that he has realized how much they have given him.

This series is going to be the death of me with all the questions its constantly raising while giving me little to no answers in the mean time. The Raiders arc was certainly a ride with a bunch of twists and turns I didn’t expect. Hopefully now the group can FINALLY get some needed rest because it’s literally been one thing after another for them. Please, someone put Rudo to bed. Kid is EXHAUSTED.
