After such a heavy episode previously, I expected this episode to be both a cool down and a build up episode. Which it was… until the ending happened. I legit did not think we were jumping straight into the next arc most likely a few hours after the whole Amo situation. These guys literally can’t catch a break and they weren’t even able to finish their meals.

Before that, we do get a little bit of world building with how the doctor lady we saw in the second episode was actually the one who lead the pioneering research to treat body pollution which could have had a hand in how their society runs today. And to my surprise and non-surprise, Eisha and August are actually her grandchildren. I see where August gets his shouting behavior from… But also connects to how Eisha is a healer as well. And here I thought the granny was just going to be a one off character, didn’t know she was actually closely related to some of the other characters we knew. Another little interesting world building tidbit we find out about when the Sphere moves, all of its trash comes raining down, which just looks like such a hazard. It’s no wonder that all of their cities have some sort of half open dome surrounding them that probably tries to lessen the damage caused by this. Though I’m sure because it’s not fully closed, there are still parts of the uncovered buildings that gets damaged. The Sphere sure is making it so difficult to live on the Ground. It’s not enough for the pollution to poison the air and create trash beast.  If those things don’t kill you, the falling trash from the sky probably will. I’d hate to be that person randomly walking around minding my own business only to suddenly die from a television hitting me.

We also learn a little more at what causes what kind of abilities the Giver has. It’s really interesting how depending on how they treat their items essentially determines what kind of ability is granted. Such as finding the full potential of an object will give attacking capabilities while wanting to protect their object will give them defending abilities, which is honestly a really interesting premise and makes me want to see what other powers different givers have.

Things are starting to get a little more serious in terms of people trying to get the bounty over Rudo’s head considering the very bold break in attempts at the base. While it seems like there isn’t much trouble in getting rid of “pests” due to the base’s strong defenses, it’s still a bit concerning that a lot more people are coming after Rudo. Especially since people are being tipped off that the Cleaners are harboring a Spherite. And of course money and hatred fuels a lot of people in this world. So after finding that out, I shared Rudo’s sentiments about the others being way too lax about it as they go out to eat in public. Like I understand you gotta take a moment to recharge after a big mission, but couldn’t you just have gotten food back at the base where it’s safer????

And of course things go from 0 to 100 in an instant because it always does in this series when the leader of the Raiders reveals he has Amo’s shoes. It hasn’t even been a DAY since they left Amo and Rudo gets shown the boots that she loved. I kind of wish there was a little bit of a time lapse before leaving Amo and them finding out something bad happened to her because knowing that things are happening literally right after the other just makes me tired for them. And while the Cleaners seemed to be way too lax for their own good a moment ago, I do appreciate that when the leader revealed himself, there was absolutely no hesitation from any of them jumping into action and treating this with the seriousness it deserves. And while it seemed like it was the plan to capture all the Cleaners, I still like to think that they were able to go through as per their own volition to make sure that Rudo isn’t transported on his own. Because I feel like it would be REALLY bad if Rudo was brought to wherever they were sent by himself.

The Raiders are such a pesky and persistent bunch that it makes them really annoying to me, but I think they did a good job at portraying them in a very imposing way. Not to mention that the new ending theme seems to hint at Rudo and the leader of the Raiders being similar or at the very least two sides of the same coin. So it’ll be interesting how both of their views end up aligning or contrasting despite wanting similar things. This next cour definitely seems like it’s going to be a doozy with the showdown between the Raiders and the Cleaners and I’m really interested to see what will come of it. Especially with what happened to Amo because I really hope that girl isn’t dead or hurt or anything. But considering it was freaking Jabber that went after her, she probably isn’t doing too well. :\ Definitely a little bit of a slower episode, but we’re definitely in for a lot of action for the next several episodes if not the rest of the season.
