Hey everyone, it’ll be just me (Eva) again this season. Not enough shows caught Shadow‘s interest, so she’ll be focusing on the backlog stuff she’s been working to get out in the mean time. As a whole, there’s not a lot of titles catching my interest this season, but there are a few that I’m super excited for! So this is going to be another short and sweet look at what has caught my attention this season!

Eva: [Takes out megaphone] I LOVE ANNE OF GREEN GABLES!!!!!!!!! I can’t tell you how much I adore this series. Anne of Green Gables is my entire childhood, and it is the Canadian staple, a 1908 Classic!!!! I’ve read all the novels, watched the original animations, the old television mini series reruns on CBC, the remake Anne with an E! So naturally when I saw this announced, I was over the moon about it! I’m 100% set on covering this! Also super happy to see it’s getting 24 episodes! 😀 If you have never checked out the series, I highly recommend that you do! It’s a famous classic for a reason!

Eva: Okay I’m already down for the vibe, and it got all the themes I like, so this has fast-tracked to the top of the contention for possible pick-ups! I’m really looking forward to it! However I do want to note: This does come out the same day as Anne Shirley, so if I like it enough I’ll do a first impression. Then from there I’ll figure out how I intend to go about it.

Eva: Oooh I’m so excited or this one! I’ve only finished Volume 1 so far (despite already having up to vol 6, aha;), but I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to it!

Eva: Oh hell yeah! More magical girl goodness! By the same producers of Symphogears (which had multiple seasons and was very good, though I eventually lost interest in it), but it sure got the whole Precure energy going for it! An interesting time for this to come out considering Precure is running an idol themed story line themselves haha (which has been pretty good if I may add, I have been checking it out). However the one thing I am a bit mindful of is the fact this has been confirmed to be for four consecutive cours, which means this will be a whole year investment if I decide to try covering it and get hooked haha. So while this one is a toss-up of whether I’d pick it up or not, this is definitely a title I’ll be sticking around with to watch and see where it goes.

Eva: Whoops, almost forgot to plug this one in! Another sci-fi title this season I’m looking forward to watching! Just my luck though that it’s now the third show that I’m interested in that airs on a Saturday. Welp. Dang it, why are all the good ones overlapping on the same day?!

The Dinner Table Detective

Reiko realizes that Kageyama’s deduction skills are very good after Kageyama solved a seemingly unsolvable mystery.
After that, whenever Reiko meets an unsolvable case, she would lay out the details of the case for Kageyama, and he would explain to her how that particular case is solved after dinner. After every case, Kageyama also explains to Reiko some universal truth or human nature that led to each crime being committed.

Eva: Looks like mysteries are my jam this season! I heard good things about this one, so I’m looking forward to watching it! Unfortunately this one’s schedule clashes with The Apothecary Diaries so it’s not on my list of potential pick-ups.
WINDBREAKER S2

Eva: I enjoyed the first season a lot, so I’m looking forward to watching the second! I’ve been meaning to read the manga, but I’ve only read a little bit of it before I got sidetracked, haha… I guess I’ll be watching this season first before resuming it!
Final Thoughts
Well that’s what’s caught my attention this season! After looking over the schedules again I’ve noticed I’m in a bit of a pickle. I really wasn’t planning on picking up more than one or two titles, but there’s a couple of shows that I’m super excited for, so it’s hard to pass up on! Unfortunately for me, the scheduling isn’t quite in my favour as there’s overlap and no breaks in between Friday through Sunday. The Apothecary Diaries S2 airs on Fridays (which overlaps with The Dinner Table Detective), Anne Shirley, Kowloon Generic Romance, and LAZARUS air together on Saturdays, and then we have Princess-Session Orchestra on Sundays, welp.
Taking that into consideration, it will probably difficult to (potentially) cover Princess-Session Orchestra, especially since it’s going to be a long one. And if I want to cover both Anne Shirley and Kowloon Generic Romance, it’s likely I’m probably going to move one of the shows (most likely the later) to be sometimes covered on Sundays instead to spread things out. And I haven’t even touched on Your Forma, which is the only one that airs in the middle of the week (Wednesdays). Though whether I can actually stomach watching the bloody parts of the series is up in the air, gosh dang it! I’m still going to try because I enjoyed it that much!
Anyhow, I’ll have to see how the first premieres for everything (other than Anne Shirley, which I’m committing to) vibes with me! I do really want to give LAZARUS and Princess-Session Orchestra a fair shot though, so I’ll figure it out from there haha!
