Shadow: I. AM. READY. After a banger of a second season, I’m definitely ready for this upcoming season even if I have no clue what they’re gonna do. Especially since A YEAR has passed??? We don’t even get to see what went down in that year??? Well anyways, I’m definitely eager to see my queen Emilia again. Especially since this season is most likely gonna focus on her again and I cannot wait! Berry has given me her blessing on covering this season so it will be my honor to be able to gush about this series.

Eva: Now this looks very charming! I’m unsure whether I’ll be covering this one, but you can bet your dollar I’ll be watching it. I love the soft colors and the story-book vibe of the art-style.

Eva: I’ve heard about this series, and surprisingly I haven’t actually read this one yet. But I’m really looking forward to it because for once we have two protagonists dedicated to two entirely different sports, and a love story at that. Now that’s my cup of tea!
But considering this series has over 160+ chapters and 16+ volumes– on-going at that, I do wonder how much of it will be adapted. There’s a lot to cover, so I’m curious what’s the pacing of this adaption is going to be like. It really can make or break it. Either way, I have a high interest in potentially covering this one.
Shadow: This one actually looks pretty interesting. I am very picky when it comes to sports anime, but I do like that it seems to be showcasing a bunch of different sports. I am a bit iffy about how shiny the characters look. But I’ll give it 1 or 2 episodes to see if I enjoy it or not.

Eva: Wow, it’s been 7 years since the last season. I really loved this series, and I’ve already had bought the manga for it as well. With it coming back, I kind of want to try finishing Season 5 and 6 so I can consider picking this one up if I so desire to, but I don’t think I’ll be able to. I’ll try though!

Eva: Somehow I almost missed this one, but I’m glad I didn’t! It looks really good, and I’m excited to see yet another original mecha series. Lets go!
Shadow: Looking at the PV, I feel like this is a 50/50 in terms of quality. It looks really interesting and I am a fan of the cartoony designs for the characters. I’m also down for a fun cybernetic theme (I blame Megaman for this) and this looks like it’d be a fun watch, but I’ll have to see if this will be any good. Originals are definitely up in the air a lot of the time so I’m hoping it’ll land.

Eva: Surprisingly, I haven’t read this manga yet. Though I’ve seen it here and there, I actually haven’t heard much about it either, so I’ll be going into this as blind as you can get. And since the premise sounds like it’ll be my bread and butter, I’m going into this with strong consideration for it potentially be covering one of the shows I’ll be picking up this season!

Eva: Sadly I don’t think I’ll be covering this season. While I absolutely love the books, when Season 4 aired, at the time I couldn’t handle watching a show with lots of blood, deaths and grief. So I’m not really sure if I should be trying to cover Season 5 when I didn’t finish watching the previous season (and I’d need to reread the books for a refresh too). I’ll get around to it eventually though. In the mean time, all I can say is: Buckle up! Because Season 5 gonna take you on yet another ride!

Synopsis:

But then, a certain event leads to Yoshino witnessing the real Kirishima.

Eva: Man… this one is a wild one. It’s a decent read, but boy this is not for everyone. If you don’t like a toxic and deranged male lead, best to sit this one out. Honestly Yoshino’s the FMC is the main reason I stuck around and kept reading despite how absolutely batshit crazy everyone is. I’ll put my name down just in case I decide I do want to cover this haha! At least I plan to watch it.

Eva: Believe me when I say I’m not crazy about fishing… but I’m already sold on what I’ve seeing, so I’ll be watching!
Shadow: Hmmm… Just for the loony animation, I’ll may give this a try but gosh… Fishing is like one of the most boring things to me. But it looks like with all the crazy antics, they could definitely make it interesting. I might give it a watch or wait for the general consensus.

Eva: I can’t remember if I ever watched the original, but if I did, it’s been way too long for me to remember anything about it. So I’m so excited for it! This is definitely on the list of potential pick-ups this season!

Overall Thoughts
Eva: Holy shit, what just happened? Fall 2024 went from, not looking very hot for me, to suddenly there’s a flurry of shows that have caught my attention! And what’s this? Multiple Magical Girls themed series!?!?! As Precure just haven’t done it for me for the past two years, man I’m hungry for a magical girl show– provided it’s not going to go dark like so many had at one point! (God, I’m so done with those!) But thankfully it looks like they all got comedy slapped onto them. But we’ll see if I can actually cover any of them. If there’s just too much gags, then it’s not going to work. I need some plot or/and decent characterizations to chew on in order write about it. So I think I think for certainty at least… the titles that have my highest interest at the moment are: Blue Box, Mecha-ude, Nina the Starry Bride and Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. Following that, my second choices if any of those don’t work out, will probably be between: 365 Days To The Wedding, Acro Trip, Negative Positive Angler, Ranma 1/2 (2024), MahoNare!
As for the wild cards, that comes down to: Yakuza Fiancé, Natsume’s Book of Friends S7– provided I actually get around to finishing S5+S6 (given the time restraint, probably not). But honestly I think for these ones, I’m better of just watching it. So we’ll see how all of this goes. Feels like it’s been a while since I’ve had a list I’m really looking forward to! Maybe I’ll be back to covering 3-4 shows this season– provided all my favourites aren’t on the same day! [Laughs nervously at one particular day of the week.]
Shadow: Not too much catching my interest this season besides Re:ZERO Season 3 which will be my sole coverage this season. Though there were a few series that had PV’s that did catch my interest like Negative Positive Angler, Mecha-ude and Blue Box. Wondering how good some of these wild cards are for me, but I’ll just have to wait and see I suppose. Definitely feels like 50/50 but hopefully they don’t disappoint.
