Eva: This is my favourite arc of the entire series, so I’m really looking forward to it! TIME FOR THE BEST GIRL KANA TO SHINE~ GO MY QUEEN!
Shadow: I. AM. SO. EXCITED. I absolutely LOVED the first season of Oshi no Ko and just as the people have suggested, I actually held myself back from reading this arc in the manga so I’m going in fairly blind (there are a few things I’ve heard here and there about) so it’ll be a fun experience. Especially since we’re getting new characters! Also I can’t wait to see more of my best girl Kana T^T.

Eva: Long before getting burned out from isekai series, I read a bit of the manga adaption and had been meaning to get around to checking out the novels. (Spoiler alert: Still stuck in my backlogs). I enjoyed up to the point I’ve read it to (and it’s been a while since I don’t remember anything), so I’m looking forward to watching this. Not sure if I’ll cover it because it’s pretty slow… I’ll see how the first episode goes. I should commit myself to reading the novels once this season is over, haha!

Ikaruga Natsuki, a boy who lost his mother and his leg in an accident some years earlier, returns disillusioned from a harsh life in the big city to find his old countryside home half-swallowed by the sea.
Left without a family, all he has to his name is the ship and submarine left to him by his oceanologist grandmother, and her debts.
His only hope to restore the dreams for the future that he has lost is to take up an opportunity presented to him by the suspicious debt collector Catherine. They set sail to search the sunken ruins of his grandmother’s laboratory in order to find a treasure rumor says she left there.
But what they find is not riches or jewels; it is a strange girl lying asleep in a coffin at the bottom of the sea. Atri.
Atri is a robot, but her appearance and her wealth of emotions would fool anyone into think she’s a living, breathing human being. In gratitude for being salvaged, she makes a declaration to Natsuki.
“I want to fulfill my master’s final order. Until I do, I’ll be your leg!”
In a little town slowly being enveloped by the ocean, an unforgettable summer is about to begin for this boy and this mysterious robot girl…
❀
Eva: This one is a wild card for me, but I’m interested in the premise (especially since I do enjoy my dose of sci-fi), so I’ll be checking it out!

The second-years’ ground rules should ensure a peaceful life together in their dorm, but reality is never as simple as it seems in the movies, and some things are not so easily promised…
❀
Eva: Unlike some of the other adaptions on this list, I know absolutely nothing about this series. I think the characters designs are something that’s gonna have to grow on me, but I’m a simple person: It’s a romance, so of course I’ll check it out and see how it goes!

❀
Eva: This one is a real toss up for me because… well, pretty obvious this is gonna be a bloody one (and I’ve been struggling to watch Demon Slayer lately for that reason), but I’ve heard a lot about this one and I’d like to try to take a look at it at least.
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

Genre: Action, Fantasy
Trailer: PV 1 | PV 2
Synopsis: Anime adaptation of the “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin” video game.
❀
Eva: I can’t believe I ALMOST missed this. I couldn’t recall it coming out this summer, and when I was going through the list of shows I have no recollection of seeing it! Thank goodness I did catch it though because this is one of the titles I’m very interested in seeing play out this season. I’ve long been meaning to play this game (forever overdue) since it seems right up my alley, but it seems like I’m going to be watching the adaption first. Hopefully it’s getting a decent adaption.
Overall Thoughts
Eva: Honestly not much of interest for me this season. Apart from Wistoria: Wand and Sword, SHOSHIMIN, Na-Nare Hana-Nare, Dahlia in Bloom, and ATRI: My Dear Moments, there really aren’t any titles that makes me particularly excited in advance of their premieres. Since I’m still covering Spice and Wolf (2024), I’ll probably only end up picking up one title this season, which one it’ll be is still up in the air. But I’m still open to picking up two if I’m feel strongly about it. That being said, I’m trying not to bite off more than I can chew at the moment. Apart from that, while the Elusive Samurai is up in the air, I know I’ll definitely be watching Oshi no Ko S2 and checking out Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. We’ll see whether Twilight Out of Focus is something I’ll stick to watching or decide to binge-watch at the end of the season.
Shadow: Looking over what this season has to offer, the only one that caught my attention was Oshi no Ko season 2. I feel like it takes a lot for me to get interested in new series these days so it’s gonna be a pretty low key season for me. Unless there is a loud voice for a specific series, I probably won’t be looking at anything else. Hopefully I’ll actually have some time to do the long time coming final episodes of AOT that I have been putting off for way too long.
Shadow and Eva, are neither of you interested in Isekai Suicide Squad? I think this one can potentially be one of the sleeper hits of the season, and I say that as someone who tends to hate isekai series, with exceptions to that being Re:zero and Ascendence of a Bookworm.
Nope, not the slightest, that’s why it’s not on the list. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ We’re not really interested in the DC Comic franchise to begin with.
