Preview Format!

The following titles featured in this season preview was decided by each of the writer who are participating this season by making a list and ranking then titles them by levels of interest.

Shadow: As much as the third season of this series disappointed me, I am still looking forward to see more of the Hashira. Even Tengen is coming back for a bit and it’s always a good time whenever he shows up. And this series has a special place in my heart so I wanna be able to see this series all the way through even if the writing isn’t and comedy isn’t the best at times. The Hashira are probably one of my favorite parts of the series and I can’t wait to get to know the ones that haven’t been focused on yet.

Black Butler: Public School Arc

Synopsis: Continuation of the Kuroshitsuji anime adaptation.

In Victorian era Europe, a young boy loses everything he once held near and dear to a vicious plot. In his moment of death, he strikes a deal with a demon: his soul, in exchange for revenge. Ciel Phantomhive is now the head of the Phantomhive corporation, handling all business affairs as well as the underground work for the Queen of England. His new partner is a demon butler, Sebastian Michaelis, whose prowess as a butler is only surpassed by his strength as a demon.

The story follows the two along with their other servants, as they work to unravel the plot behind Ciel’s parents’ murder, and the horrendous tragedies that befell Ciel in the month directly after.

Quietcupcake: You know how middle school obsessions can follow you for life whether you want it to or not? That’s me with Black Butler. I was in shock when they announced a new season since it had been so long! And while I have thoughts about season 2 of the anime, I’ve been pretty impressed with the ones that came out after (Circus, Murder, and Atlantic)! It’s been a long time since I’ve read this arc, but I remember enjoying it so I have high hopes for Black Butler’s return! Who knows, maybe if it does well, we’ll get even more animated. Or even if we don’t get more animated, I can at least hold out for more stage plays.

Eva: [TAKES OUT MEGAPHONE] LETS FREAKING GOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Oh man, I can’t believe we’re getting a complete remake. I absolutely love this series, it’s in my top three favourite novel series of all time, so I’m really looking forward to this! I’m totally down for covering it even though I know it’s going to be slow at times, but I’ll double post it when it comes to that. There’s absolutely no way I’m missing out on this series, it deserves to be covered. I hope the adaption turns out well, the new characters designs since I’ve watched the 2008 adaption, (though this time it’s more faithful to the novel’s character designs) so it will take some time to get used to, but at least it’s already growing on me.

Eva: Not gonna lie, I’ve been eyeing this series for a longggg time now purely because it’s a non-isekai fantasy romance, and I’ve only recently gotten around to picking up the first three volumes of the novel. It’s a short series of only six volumes long, so there’s a good chance we might see the entire story adapted. It’s kinda been sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read since I bought it at the same time I picked up 7th Loop and I’ve kinda been neck deep with Apothecary Diaries novels too soooooo it’s been on the back-burner ehe… We’ll see if I get around to reading a bit of it before the anime airs though, I still have time. Though there’s certainly pros and cons of doing so. It is admittedly easier to cover when I don’t know what’s going to happen, hahahaha.

Wind Breaker

Quietcupcake: I know next to nothing about this series, but the PV had it all: Delinquents, banger music, and man oh man do the characters seem like a lot of fun. I think it’ll be a good time!

Eva: Wow talk about a callback. I’m aware of this series, but I can’t remember if I’ve ever gotten around to watching the original adaption (2006). It was around the time I was just getting into anime.

Quietcupcake: I don’t have any experience with the original series. But the premise of this one caught my attention. A lot of people speak highly of the source and the original, so I’m interested in giving it a try!

Eva: Ever since I’ve actually gotten around watching a bunch of baseball series (Diamond Ace being my favourite), I’m more more inclined to checking out the new ones.

Eva: I don’t know how I feel about this one yet. It definitely piques my interest, but I’m not entirely sure if I’m going to be watching it this season.

Quietcupcake: I’m in the same boat as Eva! I almost skipped over this one in my initial look over of the spring season, but this seems interesting enough to give it a go!

Synopsis:

That little act causes Hananoi to ask her out soon after.

What does love even mean? What does it mean to be in love? Hotaru is flustered at suddenly being asked out by Hananoi, who has an endless amount of love for the person he loves and wants to do everything he can for them. This is a story about first love between a girl who doesn’t understand romantic love and a boy that may be a bit too heavy-handed when it comes to love.

Eva: I read this one and I will admit, the beginning had me iffy but it quickly grew on me so I’ve come to enjoy it. Can’t remember where I left off, I’m pretty sure I caught up to the latest chapter at the time I’ve read it– which I also can’t remember when I last did aha… But man,  I still miss his long hair man, I liked it a lot… q v q RIP Long Haired Hananoi.

Quietcupcake: It’s been a couple seasons since I’ve found a slice of life romance that I’ve enjoyed. I’m just hoping this can fill that void!

Eva: This looks very wholesome, so I’m definitely checking this one out!

Shadow: This one actually sounded really cute, especially since the couple is already married and have been through a lifetime together. The premise sounds interesting and fun and I might give it a look all the while hoping there won’t be someone trying to split up the couple or get in between them because I’m sure that would upset me lol.

Quietcupcake: It was the synopsis that got me with this one. I’ll be honest, I’m not expecting much, but I’m hoping for silly, goofy, and all around something that’s lighthearted!

Eva: Okay this is probably my biggest shot of the dark this season. I’m really curious about the direction this series is going to go, so I’ll be checking this one out.

Overall Thoughts

Eva: I’m looking to take it easy with maybe two or three shows this season. Spice & Wolf is a given, not doubt about it, so it pretty much comes down to what clicks with me between Unnamed Memory, A Condition Called Love, Go, Go, Loser Ranger! I’m mainly looking to avoid two shows airing on the same day, so we’ll see how this will pan out. There’s definitely a handful of shows I’ll be watching on the side, namely Windbreaker, Whisper Me a Love Song and BARTENDER Glass of God. As for YATAGARASU, Oblivion Battery, and Train to the end of the World, those three are probably the biggest toss up for me. But who knows, maybe I’ll end up covering one of those instead of one of the above haha!

Shadow: Not much besides Demon Slayer really caught my attention for this season. Though Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again does sound really cute and I might give it a watch once I hear a popular consensus about it. Overall, a pretty lowkey season for me so I might actually find some time to do my AOT posts that I had planned on doing this past season but unforeseen events sprang up where I couldn’t. Not to mention the new season of Demon Slayer doesn’t start until later in the season sooooooo hopefully I can get AOT out during that time.

Quietcupcake: I’m still recovering from all the fantastic anime that came out in the winter season, but it looks like there’s a pretty decent line up for spring! A lot of them I’m planning to take a step back and wait to see what sticks with the rest of the community, like Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again and Yatagarasu. But then there’s the opportunity for some romance with Whisper me a Love Song and A Condition Called Love! I’m rooting for one of those to satisfy my desire for a cute romance this season. However! When it comes to what I’m covering this season, I’m mostly looking towards Black Butler and Wind Breaker. One will satisfy my inner middle school and the other to find even more delinquents to enjoy! I’m looking forward to getting back to getting back into blogging! (❁´◡`❁)
