Eva: OUR BEST GIRLS ARE BACK TO SAVE THE WORLD! I couldn’t be more excited and ready for this season! I missed them so much!
Shadow: I was wondering when this would come back and I’m glad to see it’s finally here! After the cliff hanger it left us on, I was curious to where it would go from there and boy does it look just as dramatic as it was back in season 1. Hopefully we do get more of Yugiri this time around since she’s the only one we got little to nothing on her. But nonetheless, I’m excited for this season. I really wanted to cover this, but with Fruits Basket and Digimon already on my schedule, I just don’t have the time to cover a 3rd title.
Quietcupcake: I recently re-watched the first season and boy am I hyped for the second season!! I’m excited for the humor and the drama that will unfold! Let’s Go Go Go Go Go Go Go Go Go Girls!!

Eva: Oh gosh I love these types of stories, but the fact the preview got me all emotional and teary tells me this is exactly the type of story that will quickly turn me into a blubbering mess, grossly sobbing my eyes out for the entire duration I am watching it, hahaha…
Shadow: This looks like A LOT emotional-wise lol. This series wasn’t on my radar, but I may end up binge-watching it since it looks like a series I wouldn’t be able to handle once every week.
Quietcupcake: I am absolutely ready to be emotionally destroyed by this series. This one has been on my radar for quite a while, so I’m super excited that this will be coming out soon. Every time something new about this anime comes out, I fall more and more in love with it, and it hasn’t even started yet. I have really high hopes for this one!

Eva: I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!! I first read the Web Novel of this series back in late 2018 and I’ve been hooked with it ever since and picked up the physical copy thanks to Seven Seas licensing it! Let me just put this out there so people don’t get the wrong idea about this series: This is not a reverse harem! There is romance, but it is sweet slow burn with wholesome goodness! The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent is the type of series where its charm lies in its simplicity. So just kick back, relax, and enjoy the show!
Shadow: I tried reading it a while back, but I just couldn’t get into it. However, watching things gives me an entirely different experience and makes it easier for me to be a little more invested so I’m willing to give the anime a try.
Quietcupcake: Wahhh!! This looks like it could be really cute! It seems like the kind of anime that can leave you feeling warm and fuzzy on the inside. I don’t have any experience with the Light Novel, so I’m excited to go in blind!

Eva: I picked up the first volume of this series as one of my blind picks back in December, but life been chaotic so I haven’t had the chance to actually read it yet. Oops another book in my infinite backlog. This one it ain’t fluffy, but it is still right in my wheel house…
Shadow: This could be a hit or miss with me since these type of series have to be really well written for me to get into. But it seems interesting and definitely looks like a binge show for me so if I hear good things about it, I’ll definitely give it a look.

Quietcupcake: Look, I am a simple person. I see a series about sports and I can’t help but check it out. I’ll definitely give this one a shot, though, it’s not one of my highest priorities for the season.

Since the grandfather’s death, Setsu dropped out of high school, moved to Tokyo and has been drifting, not knowing what to do besides play his Shamisen. That’s when his successful and rich mother, Umeko storms into his life and tries to shape Setsu up. She enrolls him back into high school but little does Setsu know that he is about to rediscover his passion for Shamisen.

Eva: This is kind of a weird one for me. I tried reading the manga a while back and I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe watching the anime might help, especially with the music integrated with it, so I’m willing to give it another shot to see if it’ll finally grow on me!
Quietcupcake: When I was initially going through what was coming out this season, I had passed over on this one. It seems interesting, but I’m not too sure how it will play out. But I am an absolute sucker for stories where individuals find their passion or rekindle the passion especially after a big change in their life. I’m going into this one with high hopes!

Quietcupcake: Of all the sports this season, this is the one I’m probably most looking forward too! I’m interested to know if they will focus wholeheartedly on the sports or rather the characters that play it. At the very least, I think there can be a lot of fun character interactions to be had, so I’ll definitely be checking this one out!

Eva: Oh man this takes me back! The only version I have experienced Shaman King is the 4KIDS Dub, so it’s an understatement to say I’ll be basically going into this as a true newbie all over again. Crazy I never actually read the manga after all these years, but hey I am excited to re-experience this adventure again!
Shadow: I remember seeing this series on Saturday Mornings during the Foxbox or 4KIDS or whatever that block turned into after a while, but it always looked pretty neat. Unfortunately, I was never able to watch it as a kid since I wasn’t allowed to watch violent shows so I don’t have that nostalgia connection to it. However, I hear that it was pretty good and now that it’s getting the FMAB and Fruits Basket treatment, I will give it a watch to see how much it stands up to today’s standards and if it’s just as good as everyone says it is.

Shadow: Trigger shows have been a very mixed bag through out the years. While BNA was just a slog to get through after a while and I never was able to finish Darling in the Franxx, I absolutely loved Kiznaiver and enjoyed the previous installment, SSSS Gridman a lot more than I expected. And seeing that this series is within the same universe (somewhat) as Gridman, I’m interested to see where they go with this and if this Trigger show will be another hit or a miss.

Quietcupcake: The premise of this one really grabs me! It seems like there’s so much at play, we have the revenge plot, but also the general going back in time to change the future. Also, the fact that this will likely focus on delinquent characters is exciting!

Eva: I just started watching the first cour, and it both intrigues me and terrifies me! I’m excited for the second half!
Shadow: We are having a marathon watching the first cour of this series and wow it’s a lot more intense than I expected lol. At first I was on the fence about this series since I can’t support actively carrying out murder even if it is to take revenge. But thankfully, this series made it evident that it did not support those ideals either and presented it in a dark light, which made it interesting and more enjoyable knowing that it was not supporting the act of revenge, but showing it from a lens of an antagonist (or anti-hero). So once we finish the first season, I’ll definitely be tuning into the second.
Quietcupcake: I binged watch the first cour in one night and I am so stoked for the second cour. Things are really getting interesting with the series and I’m very interested to see how Mycroft is going to fit into the narrative. I liked the dynamic between Sherlock and Moriarty and I’m excited to see these two contest each other even more.

Eva: When I first came across this series, I thought to myself, “What the heck is Kabaddi?” so I looked it up…. And yeah, color me interested! This could be fun to watch!
Shadow: I’m pretty picky when it comes to sports anime and seeing the animation and style in the trailer made me kind of wary. It looks very over the top but if I hear good things about it, I’ll probably give it a watch.
Quietcupcake: Unfortunately, the only knowledge I have a Kabaddi comes from the one character from Chio’s School Road which probably isn’t the best portrayal of the sport. However, this one did catch my eye do the premise Someone who hates sports, but then becomes interested again. I’m down to try it! I’ll probably wait to hear what other are saying though before jumpin into it.

Eva: I am pretty interested for this series simply because it’s written by NISIOISIN (Monogatari, Zaregoto, Katanagatari, etc..) and I enjoy many of his works. I have heard it’s more light-hearted story, so I’m curious to see how it will play out.
Shadow: So my friend showed me the first PV of this a while back, testing me to see if I could guess the VA’s. And I may have to give this at least a try because… well… my voice actor crush is there… yeah, sooooo…. The style looks pretty interesting so we’ll see lol.
Quietcupcake: This one looks like it could be a lot of fun! Visually there is a lot going on, but I’m willing to try this one out!

Shadow: This looks pretty intense but I feel like these kinds of series can go either way. But I’ll probably end up waiting for a viewer consensus about it and if it’s good, I’ll give it a watch.

Eva: The combination of the title and synopsis alone is enough to make people uncomfortable with giving this a shot, because even I was like “Eek”. But you really can’t judge a book by its cover/title, so I looked into it and I heard positive things about it. Let’s see if it is as promising as people who have read the novel say it is.

Quietcupcake: I really don’t know what to expect from this one, but I’m looking forward to checking it out. I don’t have any experience with the game, but it looks like it’s been rated highly across the board. I’ll definitely be taking a look at this one. Plus, the girls all seem really cute!

Eva: I have read a bit of the manga in the beginning, but I haven’t read it since. I will be watching this though!
Shadow: I was a huge fan of Rave Master back as a kid, but I never traversed into Fairy Tail. Though it seems people are split on what the actual quality is, but we won’t get into that. I’m kind of curious as to what kind of story this will be. Though not gonna lie, the fact that the mangaka essentially just recycled a lot of his character designs into these new characters is kind of… Yeah, I’ll just leave it at that.

Eva: Fun Fact: This story based on a dramatic stage reading production! When I first learned about it I saw that there was a manga adaption so I read a bit of that and I enjoyed the few chapters that were available at the time quite a bit! I definitely recommend giving this one a shot this season!
Quietcupcake: I typically can go either way with series like these, but man I am absolutely a fan of this trailer. I definitely plan on watching this one as it releases to get a better feel for it!

Synopsis:

All of his patrons seem to be slightly odd themselves. The college student who wants the world to notice him online, Kabasawa. A nurse with secrets named Shirakawa. A comedy duo that just can’t catch a break named the Homosapiens. A local hoodlum named Dobu. An idol group that’s just starting out named Mystery Kiss… All these mundane conversations somehow eventually lead to a girl who’s gone missing.

Shadow: This definitely looks very… odd lol. I saw the first trailer for this while watching the 2020 Crunchyroll Anime Awards and was greatly disappointed by the winner and was very confused as to what this was. The character designs are very simplistic and not as eye-catching and clean as say Beastars, BNA and Aggretsuko so I was going to give it a pass… Until I saw the second half of the second trailer. Things got INTENSE and it made me pretty interested to see how well it will go. Also the fact that Hanae (voice of Tanjiro from Demon Slayer) voices the main guy was mainly what got me interested in the first place lol.

Eva: Another light novel I’ve been meaning to read. If I enjoy the adaption, then maybe I’ll pick it up. It’s fluffy, so I’m looking forward to it!
Overall Thoughts
Eva: This season, I have a very specific goal. As much as I love a good angst and drama, right now what I want to watch and cover are the fluffy content! I am super excited for the return of the epic Zombieland Saga: Revenge! This is exactly what I need right now, and I couldn’t be more ready! LETS GOOOOO!!! There are always lots of exciting sports titles, even better to see the increase of variety each season! Of the lot, I would say I’m mostly interested in Bakuten!! But the one I very most excited about after Zombieland Saga is The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent! I absolutely adore the light novel and I can’t wait to see my OTP interact on screen. Oh gosh I hope they cover my favourite arc, I’m sure they will but alksdjalkdjalskdjsalkdj I HAVE THE MIGHTY NEED! Unless it’s too slow to write about, I absolutely plan on covering it! With so many titles catching my eyes this season it’s going to be hard to narrow down which wants I want to cover. Apart from Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent, the second choice would be either Zombieland Saga: Revenge!, 86: Eighty-Six, Shaman King, Bakuten!!, HIGEHIRO. Unfortunately their schedules overlap or are way too close to each other to cover, so I will likely be limited to only picking up two new titles this season. I will also be resuming Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s coverage starting April 28th! I suspect this is a bit later than expected, but I chose this date because I want to build a small queue to fall back on in case shit hits the fan, and I am unable to control my schedule again. Thank you for your patience, and I’m excited to get back to it!
Shadow: There definitely seems to be a lot more anime that are pretty eye-catching this season. Though I’m most likely going to wait for a majority of them to see what others have to say about them before giving them a chance. It’s already a given that I’ll be covering Fruits Basket the Final Season and continuing on with my coverage of Digimon. I’m pretty bummed I won’t have the chance to cover titles such as Zombieland Saga and SSSS.Dynazenon since I was looking forward to them. But I guess that’s just how the die were cast so maybe I’ll have better luck next time. Overall, I’m excited to find some new anime to pick up and to see if they are any good~
Quietcupcake: There seem to be some real potential powerhouses this season! It’s going to be hard for me to choose which one’s I’ll be following and which ones I’ll be binging later on. Hopefully that means we’ll have a very strong season!! As for sequels, Moriarty the Patriot, Fruits Basket: The Final Season, and Zombieland Saga: Revenge! are all guaranteed watches for now. However, I don’t plan on covering any of them. I think for this season, I’m also not going to cover any of the sport’s series, I want to focus on covering somethings a little different this time around. But I’ll definitely be watching them. If one of them does call out to me, then I will probably jump in and cover one, but I don’t want to make any promises. As for now, I’m absolute going to cover To Your Eternity because I am looking forward to this one so much. I’m the exact opposite of Eva right now lol, please give me the angst and drama!! I want to cry! I’ll also probably be covering Mashiro no Oto and Tokyo Revengers! Both of these have really interesting premises. I’m looking forward to see how they ultimately play out. I don’t anticipate covering more than three series this season, but I’ll also likely be following a lot of the others as they come out! Aaaahhhhh,,,,, I hope I can keep up with it all!!
To Your Eternity is written by the same author that wrote A Silent Voice, if that helps with your anticipation. I read the manga, but it wasn’t really for me. Maybe it might be for you.
