I don’t remember that fairy tale from my childhood! My mom must’ve skipped that one in the nighttime story queue. For some reason. thank god. We got the cool recap again too, glad that wasn’t a one-off thing and this time, since I was expecting it, it didn’t scare the absolute shit out of me. Ok, a lot to unpack this episode. I think? It seems like a lot is happening, but at the same time it feels like we learned nothing. This is the true art behind an ecchi harem. Masterful.
First, THEY KNEW! I 100% thought Sayuki and Yuika wouldn’t know about each other’s fetishes. I thought the reason they didn’t get along was just the classic woeful tale of the shortie against the mature senpai. When they met, I was like ahhh shit, it’s about to. go. down. And it was immediately defused because they already knew about each other! The timing of this show is throwing me off. It seems like so far we’ve only gone through maybe 3 days of school, but Yuika and Sayuki are already coming down on Keiki for not being around as much as usual. It’s like, god damn. I think I’d have to be gone for weeks before someone noticed.
Second, Keiki is just… a really pure-hearted guy. “There needs to be love!” Alright Keiki, alright. Good for you. You’re in what is probably the worst possible situation for a pure-hearted cinnamon bun, but we know what’s holding him back now at least. Since we didn’t get another confession this episode, we got to see more what the show is going to be like in the future after everyone is introduced and then… introduced. Everything gets crazy and focuses on the girls for their reveals, which has been the past two episodes, so this episode was a nice breather. The humor is slapstick, the faces and reactions of Keiki are great, he’s the straight guy and the punchline for most of the jokes. The crazy fetish stuff is, well it’s great, but the fact that it also makes me laugh is a bonus. I like the banter.
So obviously neither girl is giving up yet because what kind of harem would that be? Yuika is determined to make him see the light and the rejection he’s showing towards Sayuki is just fueling her more. Although, judging by our boy’s new ptsd involving panties, I don’t know if he’d last long enough to start enjoying the slave life. I’m still saying that they could co-exist, as the weirdest couple ever, but the opening shows 2 more girls who will probably enter the fray and we still don’t know when (or if) Nanjo is going to confess and/or if she’s just a regular girl. I’d bet not, but that would actually be even more funny than her having one. I also don’t think she knows about Sayuki and Yuika. She knows Keiki has been going to the clubroom, she knows they went on dates, but does she know the truth? I liked that she was getting upset at Keiki for that, like he wasn’t the one tied to a chair in the situation…
So far, Nanjo seems like the best to me. There’s probably a bit of bias because she hasn’t gone crazy yet, but I’m sticking to it for now. There is still the hair covering one eye girl and the white-haired hoodie girl. The previews don’t give too much away so I’m not sure when we’ll get to meet them but probably not next episode. The case of Cinderella’s Panties is still ongoing, although I think for me (and Keiki) that has taken a back seat after all the shit that’s gone on in the past few days. We shall see.
