Hataraku Onii-san! Episode 1 First Impression( Was this supposed to be extremely funny?)
Oddly, I didn’t find the first episode funny, but the first episode is never really funny in most shows except Haruchi Sumiya, Gintama and Dirty Pair. But we have to give it a chance.
Hataraku Onii-San is centered on two cats who have part-time jobs at a packaging delivery service to pay for college. Tapio, who is the energentic one( he is tabby cat) and Kuehiko, who is just kinda carefree and wants to do as least amount of work as possible ( he is a dark blue cat).
Kuehiko just pushes Tapio out of way like a boss. He want to get out of there as fast as possible.
Then there is the boss who is white cat with yellow eyes, which I didn’t catch the name of, who gets his work done fast and efficiently.
I think this show has potential of being funny. It’s only the first episode. Kuehiko’s personality makes him funny, the fact he doesn’t care and Tapio is trying to make him do stuff he may not want to, is the comedy. And the way the boss always unites with Tapio and Kuehiko is like “Really guys…”
But the best moment was when Kuehiko pushes him out of the way with the package when he trying to do the introduction of the show, which is shown earlier in the post. And when that koala just starts talk from the boxes saying random lesson quotes… ” Time is the flow of everything ” and stuff like that.
I didn’t find this episode wildly funny. But it has it’s charms. I love how I said it’s not really funny, but I was able to find something funny that happened in the show. The second episode is always more funnier than the first, it’s a guarantee….most of the time.
And the OP and ED were good with the puppet things. I liked that.
