After the short program where Yuuri ranked first with a personal best score, it’s time for the free program for each participant.
vlcsnap-2016-11-19-17h26m47s296First we have Guang hong, who was gifted with a nice little story and visuals added to the skating performance. It first felt a bit out of place but after a second thought it was a nice initiative. It changes a bit from seeing only figure skating performances and I guess it was less difficult for the animators to animate than skating movements.

Then Swiss guy Giacommetti’s performance was less provocative than last week, expect the end… hum… Yeah, I don’t really want to talk about that. At least his true intentions were revealed during that performance, which gives him: CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! HURRAY! Now we know his goal is to put Victor back on Ice in order to win against him since he always saw him as his rival and idol. Nothing to make you jump off your seat I’ll admit, but still.

vlcsnap-2016-11-19-17h29m14s387Phichit’s turn was enjoyable. Although his performance was really badly animated, his happiness and his will to won to get recognition for his country were quite communicative. And apparently his program was really amazing so that’s great which allowed to pass Giacometti in the ranking.

After Leo de la Iglesia who ranked 6th it was the turn of my favorite guy:  the Russian drama queen. Everything is so intense with him… He also had the best song of this week’s episode. I also feel bad for him… he doesn’t deserve that, #makehimhappyagain.

vlcsnap-2016-11-19-17h28m58s383During all the other skater’s performances  Yuri was showing signs of extreme anxiousness. And after trying out a lot of things, Victor couldn’t manage to bring him back to his senses so he tried to test him with the hopes that’ll give him a reason to fight. So by announcing he’ll quit being his coach if Yuuri loses the podium, Victor made him cry. Like, legit crying. I’ll admit that was pretty cute and touching…
If Yuuri was actually this stressed it was because he was fearing his mistakes might have repercussion on Victor’s career. So yeah, that’s pretty cute. He also asked him to stay by his side, always. I might not be the biggest fan of romance and drama but I admit, this scene was cute and touching.

vlcsnap-2016-11-19-17h30m50s347Now you can tell Yuuri has changed a lot. During his performance it was like his goal was to impress Victor, to show him was he’s made of and to surprise him? That might be why he changed his last move to try to reproduce Victor’s signature move. Although he failed the reception, that was apparently super impressive since no one ever managed to do the correct number of spins.
It might be just me but I found Yuuri’s performance this week more touching than the previous ones. Especially the part were everything besides music went silent, that was my favorite part. I still prefer the Russian drama queen show but I’ll give a little bit of applause to Yuuri too.

Oh yeah! Victor and Yuuri kissed right? I think that’s probably an important piece of information… worth mentioning at least although it doesn’t really surprise me.

Now there’s one final cup before the Grand prix final and it’s going to take place in Russia. Which means: YURIOOO! Hehe, finally, I lost my Russian drama queen but the angry kitten is back!
