I didn’t think they could finish Part 4 in 39 episodes but here we are in the very last arc, my favorite part. Things are starting to look very bad for Kira as his father tells him that Rohan and the others are going to fully investigate him. He’s killed Hayato and the timing couldn’t be any worse. Kira’s so nervous that he’s biting at his nails and making them bleed, but luck is on his side when he gets a new ability when the arrow pierces him.
We get the next morning, where everything seems like nothing has happened because Hayato is alive and well for some reason. It’s the start of a new day and they’re all having breakfast, while Hayato is lost in thought wondering what he should do to save himself and his mom. We get the weather report, we get Shinobu making tea, the teapot shattering, the phone ringing, and then Kira comes down the stairs happily humming and smiling with his new do (which I don’t care for). He tells them not to fight, they should be a happy family, and other fake shit like that. Hayato leaves for school and plans on following Kira again but Kira sneaks up behind Hayato and makes him walk together. Because he’s in such a good mood, he reveals to Hayato his real name but he doesn’t think it matters because he’s “matured”. He feels invincible and awesome and obviously that’s not good at all. Hayato notes the creepy confidence as they part ways, but Hayato isn’t alone for too long as Rohan appears in front of him with possibly his worst outfit.
Not waiting for the others to arrive at the designated time of 8:30 Rohan goes right to “questioning” Hayato. But he just used Heaven’s Door because it was easier, and he’d get honest answers. But it’s strange immediately when there are random details written about a man sneezing and women laughing, which happened right after. It would rain and lightning would flash at 8:27, and it did. But he also read Hayato’s actual thoughts, such as Kira being Kosaku.
This is when we get to see Kira’s overpowered new ability, Bites the Dust. I mean, all Jojo villains are usually overpowered, right? We learn that Hayato is an actual bomb, and it’ll go off if anyone tries searching after Kira. So this includes questioning Hayato, Hayato saying his real name, just literally anything revealing Kira’s identity will set off the bomb and kill the person there. And Rohan was immediately hit by the attack, and soon was killed without Koichi and Jotaro knowing as they came at the designated meeting spot.
So we learn that the reason why Hayato is even alive is because after gaining Bites the Dust, Kira went back an hour and didn’t kill him. Instead, he planted a bomb in him.
And for reasons not revealed yet, after watching Rohan get killed, Hayato ends up back in his room waking up. And the same events play out that morning. The weather report, the phone, the same dialogue. Hayato noticed something was definitely wrong and before Shinobu’s treasured teapot would crash Hayato caught it in time. Kira notices that and that’s when we get the explanation and he scares the crap out of Hayato.
First we had time stopping, now we have controlling time and making it repeat itself. Hayato is in quite a pinch and Kira is basically safe. Hayato can’t say a word about Kira or else let someone get killed for it, so how is Kira going to get found out now? Things will get intense, that’s for sure.
The only positive thing that happened was getting Shinobu’s blushing face after finally getting her kissu. ><
