The final episode of Bananya focuses on a birthday cake that all of the Bananyas play in the ingredients of. True to the nature of the show everyone manages to be adorable in the episode. Of course Bananyako gets a highlight as she dresses in the fruit from the cake, long haired cat does his hilarious laugh as he wraps himself in a birthday sign, and Bananya even manages to finally get covered in chocolate! For an episodic show it felt like everyone got what they wanted: to keep having fun. They even tried their best to make the cake for Mom so that the birthday party would go well. They are terrible cake makers though.
All in all Bananya was exactly what I was hoping for it to be: absolutely adorable. There was nothing harmful in the show and all it aimed to do was be absolutely perfect. I want to buy every Meowchi just because they’re so awesome and adorable, ironically I kind of want Long haired cat the most because of his frankly perfect laugh every time he is on screen. I don’t care how much he brushes his hair, his laughter is always perfect.
So, should you watch this anime? Well, it’s exactly what it says on the tin. If you want to watch bananas play and have fun together then the answer is yes. There is no existential plot here and there isn’t much to dissect other than that everyone seems to believe calico cats can be boys, NOT UNLESS THEY ARE STERILE INTERNET! Calicos are a chromosome X differentiations so they’d need to be double X!
I’m happy I watched Bananya. It didn’t change my life but it was cute and helped me pass the time. Enjoy your stress free death free cutesy cat anime, cause this is sugar incarnate.
