Show By Rock!! Short!! Episodes 5 + 6

Episode 5

So we didn’t immediately pick up from last episode. Instead, I’m starting to see a pattern here, we head back to Tokiko’s show, and she’s all dressed up because a very special group is there: Trichronika! And Shuzo is really hot and stuff so she’s elated throughout the entire program.

Shuzo is his usual overly energetic self. He tells Tokiko that the band is going to go on a galaxy-wide tour. Yeah, galaxy wide. They’re literally going to visit other planets. I actually don’t remember if they mentioned about space venture or having that type of technology available. So how big is the galaxy, and how popular is Sound Planet for other planets to even know who Trichronika is? Why am I questioning this anime so much? I don’t know but it makes me wonder. Anyway, other than that, nothing too special happened. As usual, Shuzo was shiny and loud, and the other two in his band looked cute.

Speaking of which, I thought they were twins? But the drummer called his brother “older brother”. Maybe they are twins and they follow the whole “Oh I was born first by two minutes so I’m older” thing. Also apparently they like melon and grape flavored popsicles. What gripping knowledge.

Episode 6

So here we go! Well, I will say that I was a little disappointed. As I thought, A found fun playing the shamisen and she asks Un to teach her and hurray. A’s stomach growls so they go to eat something but then the annoying egg and his buddies come to harrass the girls, but then they’re interrupted by a small daruma doll. It asks for water and Un gives it some, then all of a sudden it grows into a giant red daruma doll and squashes the delinquents. And out comes my queen Darudayu.

I love her. <3

I love her attitude and that pipe of hers and her clothes and her design and everything. The girls ask her name and she tells them, and that she is also a drummer. After that the narrator says that’s how the band got together. Um…okay.

I would have liked to see way more than that. I thought that A being given the opportunity to join a band would be a little conflicting for her, and I would have liked to have seen her play the shamisen more, and see her struggle. But hey this is a short so of course I’m not going to see that, but it really would have been nice. Oh well. So I’m gonna guess that the next episode will be another episode with Tokiko and another band, maybe one of the smaller bands we saw in the anime, like the water girls.

I’m surprised Crimson wasn’t featured yet.
