#STANDSQUAD
LOOK AT SHIZUKA AND HER LITTLE ARM DOING THE POINTING THING THAT’S SO CUTE. I’m so glad they evolved this. Yukako is too busy looking at Koichi to join in and Rohan’s just…posing, but that’s alright. I love this but where’s Tonio?! >:T I’m glad they took that one cover picture of the manga and just added more to it. And put them in a very important location in Morioh.
I absolutely love the new opening “Chase”. I understand why people had mixed reactions to the first one. I liked it but it wasn’t my favorite Jojo opening. It was the most different from the Jojo openings and it was a little underwhelming. But this one really blew me away. The opening contained a lot of little hints to a certain someone who’s going to appear later on, we got new characters in it, and just visually it was much better. It was more dynamic and I enjoyed the effects that they used. It was very….shounen. And since Jojo’s is a shounen, that works. I guess I just wouldn’t call the other openings shounen-like. Honestly, I don’t know how to describe them. Anyway, the new opening is amazing and it fits perfectly as now the show is getting to the point in the manga where things are going to get exciting. No more dance party.
As per usual, Koichi’s in trouble and he gets saved. This poor guy just can’t catch a break. He was so scared that he even wanted Yukako to help him. He realizes that Rohan’s made him come to his house and that the reason why he lost weight was because Rohan had torn a page off of him. Rohan has been a cheat and used his memories and experiences into his manga and Rohan’s been erratically drawing. Koichi fears that Rohan is going to keep taking away his pages and sooner or later he’s going to end up dying. So when he hears the doorbell ring with Josuke and Okuyasu outside he’s relieved. With Rohan distracted by their presence, Koichi quickly crawls downstairs to open the door and get their help. But when he opens the door he’s completely normal and he explains to them that he was just watching a manga artist draw with a smile on his face. The boys don’t see anything wrong and leave, Koichi steps inside and wonders why he didn’t say the thing he wanted to. And once he’s inside, he turns back to a book. He opens the door, normal. When he’s back inside the house, book. It’s because of what Rohan wrote inside him that he can’t call for help. Koichi’s devastated and has no idea what to do.
But because he accidentally gave himself a wound on his hand, the next thing they knew they saw Okuyasu come in from Rohan’s window in his studio. But since Oku wasn’t careful, when he attacked Rohan he accidentally looked at the manga page and turned papery. Josuke was hiding outside the room behind the door. Rohan then wrote on Okuyasu that if Josuke tried helping them that Okuyasu would commit suicide and Rohan’s a crazy fucker. Josuke then comes in with his eyes closed so he wouldn’t be able to look at the manga page and he just charges in. Rohan tries to figure out how to make him open his eyes and when he looked in Koichi’s page, he found out.
We haven’t had someone make fun of Josuke’s hair in awhile, but we actually got backstory! See, it’s not pointless. After saying how lame and old school Josuke’s hair is, Josuke opens his eyes and gets pissed. But he’s so pissed that he doesn’t look at the manga page and he beats the shit out of Rohan. They all wonder why Josuke gets so angry when someone disses his hair, and then Koichi recounts a story Josuke had told him. When Josuke was four years old, he came down with a powerful fever, and at that time he and his mother didn’t know why. The doctors said they weren’t sure if he would live after 50 days. Sound familiar? Because at this same time is when Holly came down with that fever and Jotaro and the guys went to Egypt to defeat Dio. Josuke was also gaining his Stand and he couldn’t control it. Tomoko was driving Josuke to the city, but Morioh was hit with an awful blizzard and her car got stuck. It’s then that a young man with that same pompadour hairstyle came and helped push the car. Little Josuke saw him through the rearview mirror when they drove off and ever since then, he looked up to him as his hero, and adopted the same hairstyle. He gets angry when someone insults his hair because it also insults the guy that helped him. So it was a very special moment for him.
But he gets so mad that he doesn’t see what’s in front of him, as Koichi and Oku saw as they watched their friend throw shit around randomly when Rohan was just next to him. It was something Koichi didn’t know about Josuke which is why Rohan got rekt because it wasn’t on his memory page. But he didn’t seem to mind because he grabbed a pen and paper and started writing and sketching because even this experience was amazing. That’s trash for ya…So yeah they’re all saved and okay. After getting the shit beat out of him, Rohan’s manga went on hiatus for a month. But this won’t be the last time we’ll see Rohan.
Well that was fun. Getting backstory on the origins on Josuke’s hair surprised me when I first read it, but I really appreciate it. We get to learn more about Josuke and I’m all for that. Next week is going to be a good episode. Well, at least it will be for me because Jotaro’s gonna be in it and any episode where Jotaro is in it is a good one. (。’▽’。)♡
What’s even more special is that David Production opted to make Josuke’s savior voiceless. His dialogue is delivered in a dialogue card like in a silent movie, and it’s probably just the way Josuke remember it. This is one hella of a directorial decision and it works beautifully.
Yes that was such a perfect touch. I don’t think I would have liked for him to have a voice so I’m happy they did it mute. David Productions killing it again.
