I love trash.
He’s here and I love/hate him.
Look at his stupid face, his stupid clothes, and his stupid hair that I still don’t understand. I love this asshole.
There’s a lot of moments in Part 4 that I was waiting eagerly for in the anime, and this is one of them (the Tonio episode being the other). The introduction of Rohan Kishibe, a very talented mangaka. On his way home from school, Koichi bumps into Hazamada. Things are awkward at first but Hazamada brings up the topic of manga and asks Koichi if he likes reading it. He reveals that the author of a popular manga series is actually living in Morioh. They both run off to visit and bother him for an autograph.
About Rohan. He’s 20 and lives alone, he got his big break as a mangaka at the age of 16. He used to live in the city but he enjoys places like Morioh better. He can draw a whole manga chapter in just a matter of days. And he’s just really…adamant about his manga being realistic. He studies people and things so much to make his manga as realistic and authentic as possible. I mean I agreed with him that when it comes to writing (and drawing), you need to know everything about your subject. Like the spider thing. It’s movements, it’s anatomy, stuff like that. But then he stabbed it and started licking it and then it got weird. Then he immediately went to sketch Hazamada puking lol.
In all honesty, there’s not too much to talk about with this episode. Koichi and Hazamada visit Rohan and he invites them inside his house and gives them a tour of his studio. Things started out normal until it got weird, and when Rohan left the room Koichi told Hazamada they should leave because he sensed that Rohan was dangerous. Hazamada reluctantly agrees, but before they leave he wanted to check the unedited version of the latest Pink Dark Boy chapter. When they looked at it, suddenly something strange happened where their bodies turned into a book. No surprise, Rohan is a Stand user. His Stand, Heaven’s Door, lets him read people’s memories and basically everything about them like a book. Literally like a book as he turned the pages of their life…on their faces. Koichi was a premature baby, probably explaining why he’s such a small guy, and Rohan then finds out about all the crazy things that’s happened to Koichi with Stands, and all the Stands and people he knows.
Also, Hazamada is a gross loser but we all knew that.
Rohan wasn’t kidding about the whole realism thing. He wants to take Koichi’s memories and use them on his own characters so his readers will enjoy them. Since Hazamada is gross he won’t use him. Koichi attacks Rohan with Echoes but his attacks won’t hit him. That’s because Rohan can write whatever he wants in Koichi’s pages, and he wrote that Koichi can’t harm him. He laughs like a maniac, and then we just see Koichi and Hazamada outside of Rohan’s house all happy with autographs, saying things like how nice Rohan was. Hmm, well that’s not right. That’s a curious thing, but since we know Rohan can write things into their pages, he most likely wrote for them to forget what had happened. Curious, that the next day, instead of walking to school, Koichi walked right to Rohan’s house. And it looked like Rohan was expecting him.
I thought we would get a new OP this week, but maybe next week. Because Rohan is an important character in Part 4 so of course he has to be in the OP. It was a nice touch adding him in the ending. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel with Takahiro Sakurai as Rohan. In the video games, such as All-Star Battle (which I still haven’t beat), Kamiya Hiroshi provided his voice, as well in the recent game, Eyes of Heaven (I think). I’ll admit that I wasn’t a huge fan of Kamiya Hiroshi as Rohan at first, but the more I played All-Star Battle, the more I grew a liking. So when learning that he had been recast, which surprised me because this is Kamiyan we’re talking about, I was skeptical. Not that Takahiro Sakurai isn’t good, but I was skeptical. But I’m happy! He’s pretty great. Basically, I’ve been happy with all of the recasts, and that includes Yuki Kaji taking over as Koichi (*huff*) >:T
Also, why Rohan is a big deal? He’s basically Hirohiko Araki’s self-insert OC. Like, it’s not even a joke. It’s kind of a joke with the fanbase, but it kind of isn’t. Rohan is Araki’s favorite character he’s admitted, shamelessly. Araki also admits that of all of Jojo’s he’s written, his favorite part is Part 4, probably because of Rohan. Araki is Rohan. He loves him. He loves himself. You think I’m kidding?
Araki literally drew himself hugging Rohan so close to himself. This is not fake, this is real as hell, and yes he really did draw this. He’s hugging himself. He also sometimes cosplays as Rohan, such as when he was being interviewed for the Eyes of Heaven game. I swear he did, go look it up if you don’t believe me.
The one dressed like Rohan wasn’t Araki, that was Hiroshi Matsuyama(or Piros), president and CEO of CyberConnect2 (Naruto UN, Jojo games, Asura’s Wrath). http://jpgames.de/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/jojo-matsuyama.jpg?659fff
