As a reviewer I should step in to say this show is absolutely product placement to make you want to purchase the product it is selling. As one of the people this product was clearly intended for I can say oh my goodness they’re all so cute! This episode introduces the Bananya friends and family including black (kuro) Bananya, Tabby (tora), Bananya, and hold up here. . . Bananyako. Here is some fun Japanese tidbit information, ko is a very traditional female particle for names. So this is sort of a pun, the Bananya that’s female. Good job with all that originality! We get tons of Bananyas however including my personal favorite, Daddy Bananya, before they’re all found out and have to hide by retreating into their peels and literally tumbling away.
I can’t get over how cute they are. Torabananya is in love with Bananyako who is ‘the Madonna of the Bananya world’ but still apparently not cute enough to win the love of the long haired Bananya who is the ‘handsome boy’ trope Bananya. I am personally rooting for Torabananya because he’s precious and mostly because long haired Bananya seems like the god Narcissus and we only need one of those.
This show is all about cute things and fun and I’m certainly having fun watching all the Bananyas play. My favorite is honestly Bananyako because she is a precious adorable fashionista cat who uses ‘makeup’ to make her fur look white. How can I not love the prissy cat!? Her fur is so cute!!! Baby Bananya is too easy so he’s not for me but I love how funny Daddy Bananya is just by existing. Seriously, it would be Japan that makes Daddy Bananya with such an endearing design but still makes him a ‘dad’.
Until next time, have the adorable cats of the week!
