The final battle is coming!
If I had to say one thing about Eraserhead, it would be that this guy is badass. He has a good knowledge of his environment, he uses his scarf thing to lift the bad guys in the air and to smash them against each other, in other words he’s cool. I must say, I did not expect him to be this good at fighting in the front lines but eh, guess can’t judge a book by its cover.
As for the main bad guy, Shikaragi , I think his voice sounds a bit too young. Also every time he talks I only picture Tsukishima from Haikyuu, which is not a good thing since I want to take this villain seriously. Sadly, hearing Saltyshima doesn’t do the trick. Now, I’ll admit that the villains aren’t that scary for the moment, the major part of them are nameless minions, waiting for their turn to attack, losing 10 against 1. Plus, we don’t really know anything about them expect the fact that they are members of the League of villains who guess what? Want to kill All Might because they are eviiiiiil. Although I believe their motivations are explained in later arcs, for the moment in the anime, the villains may seem a bit dull which is a shame.
The good guys realize that it’s most likely because the medias triggered the alarm that the bad guys were able to enter the school. In the meantime, Midoriya wonders why the villains are after all Might. It’s probably because he’s the symbol of peace so killing him will bring despair and if I learned anything from Danganronpa, it’s that despair is fucking awesome. Anyway, all the students are separated in little groups in different zones because of the shadow guy using his quirk. They all seem ready to fight, especially Midoriya who again, had a little flash back of the time he spent with all Might, who gave him the force to become a hero. I think we understood now, I wonder why they need to remind us every single time why the hero needs to fight. HEH, as long as it’s not the power of friendship or the souls of the cards that motives him, I don’t really care.
While everyone is trying to contact the school and All might, the latter one has an interesting discussion with the principal. The principal tells All Might to chill and stop taking care of every little villain in town or his body won’t be able to handle it. The main reason why All might came to this school was in order to train his successor but also to be able to hide from the media and prevent them from knowing his weakness. But if he continues, he won’t be able to achieve neither of those things.
Midoriya, Mineta and Tsuyu figure out a plan to escape the evil water villains and are counting on the fact the the enemy is underestimating them. So Deku jumps into the water and uses his quirk to create some sort of tornado that washes the enemy in the center while Tsuyu jumps and catches him before he hits the water. Then, Mineta throws his balls in the water which stick the bad guys together. The fun thing is that Deku thought to himself “Act like Kacchan”, which he translated into shouting “DIIIIIE” while jumping, I must say, it is quite an accurate impression of Bakugou.
Mineta had the courage to throw his sticky balls at the bad guys because he thought about how brave Deku was. Even if Deku was scared like him, he had the courage to act, while Mineta was paralyzed by fear. So eh, I guess Deku continues to inspire people.
Even if I’d like to write more about this episode, not so many things that can be analyzed happened. This episode felt a bit short and we could clearly see that we are reaching the end of the season. Everything being set in motion to offer the watcher, the epic battle that he’s been waiting for since he saw the opening.
I also had to laugh when Izuku’s take on acting ‘like Kacchan’ was to tell his opponents to die lol I like that he even prepared to swing his right fist, only to switch over to his left for the almighty finger flick. If he’s gonna break some fingers then he might as well start with the less dominant hand!
Nice introductory ep for Tsuyu and Mineta as well. Tsuyu is a real cool cucumber with a super versatile quirk (I love frogs XD), and Mineta…seemed very much like a 15 year old boy suddenly thrown in a life-or-death situation ^^ but the fact that he threw his stickies ’till he was bleeding didn’t go noticed! He’ll get there.
And before I forget – DAMN Aizawa-sensei! You be awesome!! Thirteen is awesome too!!!
