Cue me getting emotional when Koro-sensei said he didn’t think of his students as a hindrance. ;_; Ahh…at least the ending that I guessed last week didn’t come true, where the three of them would die together.
The episode was just the entire fight. Two against one isn’t fair, especially when one opponent is twice as stronger and faster. Koro-sensei is having trouble fending them off, and Yanagisawa uses Koro-sensei’s weakness against him: protecting the students. The students were too much in awe to do anything, they could have left but they didn’t. Yanagisawa would make Reaper shoot his attacks at the kids and each time Koro-sensei would jump into the way and take the hits for them. Obviously, this made the children feel guilty and completely useless, but Koro-sensei says it’s a teacher’s duty to protect his students. And also, from the bottom of his heart he is grateful and so happy that his students would go through all the trouble they did to see him.
A lot of emotion this episode. To help him, Kayano ran in and faced off against Reaper. Of course, that was stupid. She has pretty good reflexes since she did use to have tentacles like them, but what she did was stupid, and she was stabbed through her body, killing her. This is when Koro-sensei went into a rage and went all out. The students grabbed Kayano and then ran off to a safer spot.
But Koro-sensei didn’t really attack with anger. He really faced Reaper and looked at him like he never did before. He gathered up a sort of kamehameha power beam and before shooting it at Reaper and then stabbing him, Koro-sensei says if they meet up again, they can study together so they wouldn’t make the same mistakes. Reaper wanted sensei to see him, and in the end he finally did. So in a way, his death was a little happy as he cried tears of joy before being pushed into the anti-tentacle shield, dying. Also, Yanagisawa died too and that was fantastic because that guy was the worst. 😀
Finally the fight came to an end. I enjoyed the fight a lot. But Kayano being brought back to life in that deus ex machina way was bullshit, I’m sorry. Like, I don’t have anything against her or anything, I quite like her. I didn’t want any of the students to die! But if you’re going to kill off a character and make it super dramatic, keep them dead. But bringing her back to life with a half-assed “I’ve gathered her blood cells in a ball with my tentacles and now I’m going to put them back in her!” thing, is so frustrating. I thought it was really dumb. Was this to show that Koro-sensei learned from his past mistakes (with Aguri) and how he learned from them? Because if so…I don’t care for it. Sorry, I just have problems with it. The rest of the episode was great, but that moment was just lazy. Of course, you don’t have to agree with me.
There’s only two episodes left and the bad guys are already taken care of!!! What…what’s going to happen? They’re not going to be able to stop those lasers, are they? The opening said 90 minutes, an hour and a half until the lasers shoot. Oh no oh no oh nooooooo…
I am only going to talk about Kayano for the most part . The whole episode was panel for panel (manga) except Ritsu got a little extra and more from the school year Flashback . The 30 minute / 30 second joke about the cake was the only add
Koro -Sensei also grew in the year He has always from the begininng wrote manuals guides and if you remember came in handy when the girls were kidnapped in season 1.
But I think quite harsh your take on Kayano’s death. He learned from Aguri’s death and knew it could happen to his students, So he was prepared That was a very important segment which I cant say why for now. That didnt surprise me at all. He needs everybody to graduate ! That was his promise to Aguri plain and simple.
I will revisit this topic at the end / not mad at you just my take / otherwise a nice review
A lot of comments I have seen were very emotional for Kayano.
If anything this has to be one of the best adaptations ever of an anime, Also author Yusei is up for the equal of an Academy award for writing. It wiil all make sense soon.
I was worried this was the last episode, especially watching the end credits. Glad to know there are 2 more episodes left. I actually kind of agree about Kayano’s being brought back to life being a little cheesy. I understand that her ultimate death would’ve been almost a failure for Koro Sensei, who promised to protect all his students, but maybe it was just done in a cheesy way. It seemed like a “oh that? Here let me quickly fix it.” sort of thing. Still loved the episode though.
