What a great episode this was! I was exceptionally pleased to see Makina and Reina have the chance to shine and be provided the opportunity to learn more about them and their unique relationship. Who would have thought these two couldn’t get along during their early days, which even resulted to canceling their shows! Much to Walkure’s relief though, the two of them realized they make an badass duo and now behold our ultimate hacking team! They only thing that spoiled their plans was the fact the Aerial Knights were able to catch the wind of it not too long after they successfully infiltrated planet Voldor.
It was a great twist to find out how the Aerial Knights are controlling the military and local police forces. Who would have thought those damn Winderemere apples mixed with Paraganal Ruins’ shrine water would artificially create a Seidznole which is tied to the Var. By doing this, they can then control them through the wind song. But man, Freyja was absolutely horrified to see her favourite delicacy be used for such underhanded means.
BUT OH MY FUCKING GOD, THE PURPOSE OF THOSE BLOODY APPLES WERE RIGHT IN FRONT OF US THE ENTIRE FUCKING TIME. So I went back a couple of episodes to look at the introduction messages to see if the mentioned anything about Protoculture and BAM WHAT DO I SEE, EPISODE 1: Starts off with a man controlled by the Var eating a Winderemere apple and he acts as a suicide bomber. MY GOD, THE WINDEREMERE APPLES WERE RIGHT IN FRONT OF US FROM THE GET GO! My god, I think that scene was actually prelude of what is about to come. God this is going to get ugly really fast. YA GOTTA PUT A GALAXY WIDE BAN ON WINDEREMERE APPLES!
There was a lot more talk about the Dimensional Weapon today and along with it are two very different stories. First off is is a dangerous weapon of mass destruction that distorts space-time and is banned according to the galactic treaties. For those who live in Winderemere Kingdon such as Freyja, they have been told it was the Earthlings who did it. On the other hand, outsiders claim the Winderemeres were the ones who used the Dimensional Weapons against the NUNS which to blew up both friends and foes. Millions of civilians fell victim to it. This particular event said to have happened seven years ago during their war of independence. During that time Freyja was little when she witnessed it happen, but she didn’t know what it was. Poor girl, now she has to figure out which side is telling the truth. Mikumo made a point of, “Is the me you see the real me?” so as to make the point of, just because the elder says so doesn’t mean it’s the truth. We will have to wait and see though, because even the royalties believe the Earthlings did it, or are just to use that anger and grudge against Earthlings to back them up… unless there is a third party we haven’t heard about that wanted to create this tension in the first place… But that’s just far-fetched speculation.
But was that the reason why the Winderemere Kingdom prioritize taking over this planet? No, it appears not. As of right now, getting their hands on another Dimensional Weapon is not necessarily on the top of their list. There is also the fact this planet specializes in researching genes, which can potentially lead to help improving their species’ short lifespan of thirty years, and in order to ‘behave’ they will provide some research for them. But their ultimate goal appears to be gaining evidence that they are the rightful heirs of Protoculture- something which they have declared many times now. In fact, Roid wrote many papers on Protoculture, in them he writes ‘The last humanoid races the dying Protoculture gave birth were the ones here in the Brisingr Cluster. Therefore we are, by all means the rightful heirs of the Protoculture.”
But what is Protoculture really? They say is a a highly advance alien race became the first space-faring civilizations, by manipulating genes of primitive indigenous life forms and the traces of their power can be found throughout the Milky Way. It feels like there is a lot more to it than what we know about it right now. Like Mikumo, it is shrouded in mysteries! Actually funny thing, Mikumo could hear something which the others could not, she feels as though something is beckoning her and Protoculture has something to do with it.
Speaking of Mikumo, my god was a badass she is- and they aren’t exaggerating when they describe her to be a lone-wolf. When she catches the wind of things, she is already on the move- not to mention she is also super crafty. Planting those microdrones bugs was a genius plan. And honestly I’m starting to lessen my suspicious about her role in general. So I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt until she does something I consider shady.
Also a shout out to Kaname for also showing off her badass qualities!
Finally, our trio Hayate, Mirage and Freyja are in a PINCCCCHHHHHH~! They fell into the trap of going through the ventilation system to escape and now they are completely surrounded by the Aerial Knights no less. Welp, how the hell are they going to get out of this one?
