I feel a bit bad about putting Bakugou as the featured image again this week… I mean.. Out of 8 reviews, Bakugou has been in the front cover 5 times.. Now people are going to think that I’m biased, which I’m really not, I mean, me biased? Pfff, never, I’m the most objective person you’ll could ever find, especially when it’s about Animu and Mangos bishounens, I simply don’t care at all ahahaha… yeah…
But in all seriousness, this episode’s title is “Bakugou’s start line” I can difficulty ignore the fact that Bakugou is going to be the center of the episode right? So here we go, this week again, more character development for my favorite trash, Bakugou, Baron of Explodokills.
Bakugou is mentally destroyed by his fight against Deku. Now, he has realized that Deku has the power to crush him whenever he wants to. Meaning, Bakugou is not the strongest of the two anymore. He remains strong though, stronger than a lot of people but I doubt he can realize that. So while Bakugou remains silent at the back of the class, the rest of the teams fight each other. There isn’t so much fight development and that’s a bit sad. I’m still salty with the fact that the anime is going to stop before the Sports Tournament Arc. I would have wished to have more screen time for the side characters but heh, it’s okay.
So we get to see some students using their quirks but the one that shines the most in the first part is Momo, showing us that she is super intelligent, capable of analyzing the situation in every details. Furthermore, it’s not really related but she has quite a nice body, I think Mineta agrees with me… Yeah, I’m quite jealous on this one, especially the boobs, maan… If only…
Anyway, I could also see my favorite dork: Denki, having a bit of screen time so that’s nice, yup, that’s all I can say for now, I can’t wait to see the side effect of his quirk, it’s going to be awesome.
The second one who shined the most was Todoroki, who did cool things since that’s basically what Todoroki does. He does cool things and is cool no matter what. He showed that he was too OP for invisible girl and tail guy and manages to secure the weapon without the help of Arm man. Although he did not work as a team with his partner nobody seems to point it out. Todoroki remains the cool guy that everybody likes, “Ice guy” as Bakugou calls him and “Fresh prince” like I like to call him. I’ve never met a single person who dislikes Todoroki, I guess it’s just the type of character that you either appreciate or feel indifferent towards but do not hate.
After the recovery lady has treated his injuries and after having an unnecessary flashback, Deku goes back to his class. He is now a “hero” for his classmates since he fought gloriously against Bakugou. He’s not as cool as Todoroki but cool enough to make new friends in the class now. Good for you Deku, you deserve to be loved. Everyone was like ” wow Deku ur so cool” which made the scene cute and funny, it is always nice to see the classmates bounding with each other. Oh and yes, as cool as Deku might have become, he won’t be as cool as Fumikage who was chillin’ out, maxim’ relaxin’ and all cool on the desks at the back of the class. The way he sits clearly shows that he’s cool… Man… 2 cool 4 school.
The second highlight of the episode was the scene between Midoriya and Bakugou. After being healed by the recovery lady, for the third time in a few days, Midoriya learns that Bakugou is going home so he runs to catch him in front of the school gate. For some reason Deku felt the need to apologize and tells Bakugou the truth about his quirk: someone gave it to him and therefore, he did not hide it from Bakugou all this time. Furthermore, if Deku did not use his quirk against Bakugou it was only because his body is still too weak and that he cannot perfectly control his quirk, not because he was underestimating him.
But at this point, Bakugou doesn’t care anymore about the origin of Deku’s quirk since he has realized his own weaknesses. Now he’s ready to “start over” in a sense, to become the number one. Before, he thought he was the strongest but by fighting against Deku and seeing Todoroki and Momo being strong in their own way, he realized that he is not. I guess that to him, being strong is not enough, he wants to be the very best, like no one ever was, to fight them is his real test, to beat them is his cause.
Now let’s speak about Bakugou’s crying face: God… I-I… I know I shouldn’t feel bad for him since he’s a total ass but… gosh, that was painful. I was genuinely feeling bad for Bakugou, talking to my computer screen, saying that it will be okay Baekugou, don’t worry, son, stop crying. I might be the only one in the Bakugou Fan club, but I’m a premium member and I’ll remain one. I think that thanks to this episode, the Baron of Explodokills’s Trash club is going to have more members, everyone is welcomed. All that need to be remembered is that, if Bakugou is an egocentric trash, he remains an rather clever trash. He’s not totally blind, able to see his mistakes and learn from them, all hope is therefore, not entirely lost. All Hail to the King of Explodokills.
Oh! I almost forgot! The bad guys are coming!
