“This place might be dangerous”
Last week we left our favorite idiot gang wondering where the hell could Masaki and the rapper rapist have gone. Everyone is speculating on what happened to them and it’s at this moment that Megane kun says:
“We came here based solely on unverified information in an email. This place could be very dangerous. ”
SASUGA MEGANE KUN! Dear Lord. “Ohohoho this place could be dangerous”. YEAH NO KIDDING BUTTHEAD. Nice to realize that now that you can’t really go back.
Anyway, because Mitsumune feels that there is the need to perpetuate the human race since all those idiots are going to die, he wants to go and find Masaki with the rest of the group. While they are searching, Puuko (or Puke-Oh I don’t really know anymore) sees a big claw mark on a tree. They all panic because it’s quite usual to see bears in mountains you know so they all start to run away expect Mitsumune who stays there for no reasons. Then he sees a really, really creepy eye looking at him from a bush. Man, the eye was really creepy… I hope I won’t see it again. Except that I’m putting the picture of this eye right <= here so technically, I’m seeing it again…
Am I breaking the fourth wall by doing this? Or maybe the third wall… I don’t know, I’m not good with walls and handwork in general.
So Mitsumune falls and finds Masaki next to a tree, looking scared. She then explains what happened to her and the rapper rapist. He was taking her to a place where they could be alone (probably) but on his way he saw something and said ” Why here of all the places?” and left her alone. WHY HERE WHAT? AAAAH I DON’T LIKE THAT! THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE!
Anyway, they don’ really believe her but continue their investigation, questioning her again and again. Poor girl, she was almost raped by a guy who’s twice her age, left alone in a forest and nobody cares. Expect Mitusmune but I don’t believe Mitsumune, he’s a freak. Then Megane kun says ” What you will tell us will decide our future, if we live or die”. Wut? Since when does he know that they are going to die? Aaaaah I don’t like that, everyone is sooo fishy.
They all want to leave the place and start complaining again and again so Chill Master Valkana shouts to them that fine, if they want to leave they’ll just have to leave. They are horrible people who are ready to abandon someone and who don’t care about each other so they just have to leave, everyone will be better off without them. The he leaves to find the rapper rapist along with the fox guy and the Sick Kid. The rest of the idiots decide to separate themselves into groups. Good idea! Just split up! Did those guys never watch any horror movie in their life?
Maaaa, it’s okay, I should stop mentioning that they are stupid, I think everyone know by now that if they die, it’s not going to be the fault of some supernatural werewolves but more because of their own stupidity and ignorance. Mitsumune wants to comfort Masaki but she rejects him saying that he if continues to stand up for her, he will be rejected by the group too. Ayato then tells Mitsumne ” bro, stop going after her and do what I’m telling you to do”. Apparently Ayato used to defend Mitsumune from bullies at school which proves us again that Mitsumune is socially inapt. He has to rely on someone because he doesn’t understand how social interactions work and end up being rejected by groups.
There’s lot of fields with vegetables growing, so they have more food now. Yay! Though they won’t really need much food since they are going to die. There’s also a nympho girl who’s hitting on everyone and anything.
Later that day, Judness-kun starts ordering Jack the freak to change his name because their names are too similar. It pisses Jack off so he takes a 
hoe an try to kill Judness. Lol, that’s indeed a pretty effective way to solve the problem. Everyone stops him, he’s restrained and brought on a public place, exposed to everyone. One of the girl recognizes him, back in school he was arrested for stabbing a classmate. I said it before but eh, don’t look so surprised if there’s a criminal among you, after all, it was a tour to “start a new life”, of course some freaks would join.
Mitsumune again wants to stand out for Jack, and wants to defend him. It’s not that Mitsumune is wrong to defend the oppressed guy but in terms of survival, to fit in a group, this guy sucks. It’s true that they shouldn’t judge him on his past since they don’t really know anything but this guy is dangerous. He was the one hitting the driver and he nearly killed a guy with a hoe. And then we have Mitusmune saying ” Yeah but Judness was mean to him”… YOU DON’T KILL PEOPLE FOR THAT! That’s not a good excuse. So they lock him in some sort of prison, what kind of village in the mountains has a prison anyway? NO! The one in Higurashi IS NOT a good exemple.
After that, we have some backstory for Chill Master. He was a freelance engineer and was made the scapegoat of the company after an information leaking problem. So now, he never wants to take the blame nor feel responsible for anyone again. The tour girl then tells him that he is quite stupid. Joining a tour like that with loads of people isn’t the best idea at all if you want to avoid getting involved with other people. So she concludes that Chill Master doesn’t really want to be alone. Which pisses him off, he grabs her and wants to hit her but he doesn’t. End of the story.
During the Night Mitsumune feels bad for Jack and decides to go check on him. On his way he meets with Maimai and Lovepon, the crazy chick obsessed with executions. She wants to execute Jack and starts going insane. She tries to kill Mitsumune by drowning him into the river but he manages to escape and then sees the rapper rapist Yottsun’s body floating on the river. So he’s dead. Good grief, I wonder if anyone will shed a tear for that bastard. I certainly won’t.
Since I’m quite the Serlock Holmes, I’ve investigated the deeps of Internet to find what Mayoiga was standing for. And I’ve found a traduction of the tales of Mayoiga if you wish to read it click here . Having read that tale my guess on this anime is that only the “purest” person will survive all this shit. But I dunno actually, it’s quite hard to find some resemblance between this tale and the anime. Expect from the name and location those two things are quite hard to link. So maybe, the Tale of Mayoiga and this anime aren’t linked at all and I just did those researches for nothing…. but eh, you’ll never know until you try. Also, I usually don’t trust my intuitions, I’m a shit detective actually, I’m wrong most of the times. Im the type to shout ” HE’S TOO NICE! HE’S A TRAITOR! DON’T BELIEVE HIM!” when the guy is actually the nicest person on earth. Same with Mitsumune, I think that he’s a total freak but I might be wrong.
So eh, we’ll see that next week 😀
I like this anime but I hate most of the characters lol. I’m anticipating that half the cast will turn out to be psychotic like Lovepon. And honestly Yotsun will not be missed.
Nobody will miss Yottsun. I don’t really like anyone either but that’s probably the point of the anime. Maybe in that aspect it’s close to Battle Royale, where you see a cast of young kids, that you hate right away, killing each other. I don’t know if they will end up killing each other though.
But I like Mitsumune as a character. I find him interesting and I really hope he’s going to be the craziest among them all

Aha well you’re probably right. If I remember correctly they do mention werewolves in the episode at some point. Also, that claw mark looked a bit too big to be a the mark of a bear. So yeah, werewolves maybe also, there’s not so many werewolves animes out there so maybe, why not?
These people are fucking awful, they just keep getting worse. I guess I can understand Valkana better, but still. These are the worst people to put in a group together.

So what was up with the growling and the eye in the end? I’m surprised Mitsumune didn’t mention the eye to the rest of them, and that they’re all more worried with locking up (and executing) Jack instead of the danger from their surroundings. And if Yottsun’s body only appeared in the river at that point in time, it means that he’d most likely only just been killed, or someone decided that now was a good time to dispose of the body.
Oh that’s right I forgot about the eye too. Maybe Mitsumune forgot because getting in Masaki’s pants is more important.Maybe he hide it on purpose or the show is not that well written .
Sadly, if Yottsun was killed or if the corpse was disposed when the crazy chick, Mai Mai and Mitsumune were talking, it’s not going to be Mitsumune’s fault. And I’m sad, I want him to be the bad guy.
I want to try this anime, but there are far too many characters for me to keep track of, and I know that will blow it for me if I start watching. So I will just try to follow along from your reviews. :3
Actually I don’t find it that hard to remember who is who, everyone is so crazy that you can always say to yourself: oh that’s the execution chick, oh that’s the detective girl, the chill master and so on.
So in that aspect it’s not that hard, but liking the characters is the real challenge here 🙂
You forgot to mention masaki aka. ms.puke was acting very strangely and almost hateful when mr.nice-guy mitsumune was trying to stand up for her.
Megane-kun is actually right with saying that it COULD be crucial to them living or dying like how he was dying or was there something strange like the creepy eye etc.
Puuko wasn’t just flipping out because of some scratches but because there was also blood there (dunno if fresh or not tho)
Lion is quite clever and I like her (maybe because she is one of the few “normals” in that group together with female-lead and ayato bro-kun)
I would get pretty angry myself if someone was annoying the hell and is telling me to change my name/identity because of his shitty chuunibyo name Judgeness and want to hit the shit out of them (wow i sound like a psychopath) e.e
The way how the corpse came flowing down the river was funny because of the fast movement. Btw it could also be “luck” that the corpse came down at this time. Maybe it got stuck on something first.
And how is nobody wondering besides female guide that it is strange that everything is still working and in perfect condition besides a bit of dust. Hey perfect plants on a perfect field.. not suspicious at all. better eat it.
Similarities between the tales of mayoiga and this anime is that everyone has lost their way. The challenge is to find the rightous path and not stay/go crazy or greedy.
Oh wow, I totally forgot Jack was the one who attacked the driver!! That decides it – he’s the most interesting character to me now. I was honestly happy when he attacked Judge – friggin’ anime bullying =/ not to say he deserved a hoe to the face, but I could hardly tolerate his chuuni behavior to start with. Adding in my own experiences with bullies, there’s never been anything I find quite more annoying than unwarranted personal harassment.
And the MC comes in second for most interesting character, because there is totally. Something. Wrong with him. And maybe his friend too. “Just keep doing what I tell you” hmmm >.>

I agree that Jugdness behavior was wrong but he did not deserve a “hoe in is face” like you said. I do believe that hatred leads to more hatred so that’s probably why Jack is so violent now, considering his past experience. But you can’t solve this by adding more violence.
I’m also happy that I’m not the only one finding Mitsumune interesting. He’s just awkward in every situations. I do think he’s socially inapt, a kind f sociopath maybe….
Ayato doesn’t seems as fishy as Mitsumune but I’m wondering why he’s so determined to protect the MC…
No worries here – people’s reasons for bullying are often petty, so by keeping that in mind, I rolled with it pretty well ^^ most folks grew up in time for high school. Anime bullies really take things up to the 11 though.
This is definitely true – which makes me all the more interested to find out what really happened back then. Jack’s reaction to Mitsumine defending him makes me think he’s not a bad guy exactly, he probably just went over his boiling point and won’t restrain himself anymore. Most people don’t think of stabbing classmates so readily, so there must have been something to trigger it.
If nothing else, Ayato probably knows exactly why we find Mitsumine so odd >.> I feel like he’s keeping him on a leash or something, but maybe for the greater good.
Glad to hear it. But still I’m always amazed how kids and humans in general are so stupid that they’d cause pain to someone else just to feel better. Just how insecure are they?
I agree, I don’t think Jack is fundamentally a bad person, or I’d rather say, he wasn’t a bad person. But he became one when he saw that apparently the only way to stop bullies was to stab them. If nobody took the time to explain him that other paths without violence might work, it’s only natural and logical that he’ll use violence to stop Judgness. That’s why rather than restraining him, teaming up against him and marginalizing him, which is another type of violence, they should take the time to explain things. But since they are all dicks, they won’t.
I also hope that Jack won’t be accused of Yottsun murder if he happened to have found a way to escape the prison where he was put in.
Yeah, Ayato might know why Mitsumune is so strange and I do believe he’s actually protecting him from being either rejected by the group or turning berserk and killing everyone. There’s strong homo vibes coming from him tho, I wonder if he’s going to get jealous of Masaki, she might steals his only friend.
That eye scared the life out of me. That was one creepy eye. I mean… just wow that got me.
