Things went from bad to worse………………….company.
Haha, get it? Because the subs changed Keicho’s Stand’s name from Bad Company to Worse Company? Haha I’m funny. But yeah, Keicho’s Stand is actually called Bad Company, named after another rock band. Like I said, this is going to be very common from this point on. Also, like Jotaro having “yare yare daze” as his thing, I guess Josuke’s thing is always saying “great”. And I think this is an anime-only thing, and I love it. Gureato.
Well it looks like this is going to be a three parter, which I guess makes sense. I saw somewhere that Part 4 is going to get 39 episodes. Now I don’t know if that means that they’re going to cram everything in 39 episodes because that’s not going to work. Stardust Crusaders got two seasons, so I was expecting the same for Diamond because it’s slightly longer than Stardust. I hope what I saw was wrong, or that there will be 39 episodes, but it’ll have another season. But still, 39 is a weird number for an anime nowadays.
So in this episode, Josuke faces off against Keicho. Before he can grab Koichi and save him, Okuyasu wakes up and runs through the door telling his brother that he can still fight. All of a sudden, Okuyasu is shot at with multiple little holes appearing on his face. He stood in the way of his Stand’s range, and he was about to be shot at again until Josuke jumped in and saved him, the two of them ending up outside. Inside, Keicho drags Koichi’s body up the stairs. Outside, Josuke tries to get Okuyasu to tell him what his brother’s Stand is but he doesn’t say a word. Josuke looks like he’s about to attack him, but instead he actually heals him. Which Okuyasu doesn’t understand, because he’s the enemy and he can just attack him again. Josuke’s reason for saving him was simply that there was no reason for Okuyasu to die. That’s it. And Okuyasu is dumbfounded and doesn’t know how to react. Without bothering him further, Josuke goes up the stairs of the house by following Koichi’s trail of blood.
Josuke finds Koichi’s body in the middle of an empty room with no one there, and of course it’s an obvious trap. Keicho’s Stand is there waiting for him to run to Koichi and hurt him. But he doesn’t care and he’s about to run inside until Okuyasu’s Stand stops him. And since The Hand can cut space, he cut the space between Josuke and Koichi, and Koichi teleported to Josuke’s side. That was his way of thanking him, and he promises he won’t interfere with Josuke’s plan, or to even help his brother, so he steps outside.
Koichi is healed but Bad Company finally makes its appearance. The Stand is not one being, but multiple tiny ones. They’re literally like toy soldiers but firing from real guns. They look harmless, but their firepower is real, and painful. The two run off to another room after Josuke is shot at again and there they meet the rest of Bad Company, which is also small aircrafts. At first, Koichi has no freakin clue what’s going on around him, because like any normal person, he can’t see the Stands. But when they’re in the room, out of the corner of his eye he sees an army of tanks and warns Josuke. So…hey, he’s not normal! He actually became a Stand user, because only Stand users can see this stuff. Keicho appears and wonders just what kind of Stand Koichi has, and he makes an interesting remark saying that Koichi’s Stand might be of use to him.
Poor Koichi still has no idea what they’re talking about, but Keicho orders him to make his Stand appear. Josuke tells him how, but Koichi’s never done this before so he’s not sure. Keicho attacks, and out of desperation of protecting himself, he…lays an egg. Just a giant egg, and it won’t do anything. Josuke and Koichi are confused, but Keicho saw that the egg had cracked a little, so there’s something in there.
So Keicho turns his attention unto Josuke, and ignores Koichi because he wants to keep him alive. Koichi tries helping but just gets hurt in the process. 🙁 And just like any Jojo battle, whenever it’s starting to look bad, things always end up right. With all the missiles and bullets laying around by Bad Company shooting at him and Crazy Diamond deflecting them and breaking them with his punches, when Keicho doesn’t notice he uses Crazy Diamond’s ability to fix a couple of missiles and shoots them at Keicho, defeating him.
I love Bad Company, it’s such a cool Stand. We have one more part concerning the Nijimura brothers, such as why and how Keicho has something important like the bow and arrow. This is the first time in Jojo’s that we’ve had a three parter, but that’s because there’s more important details regarding the plot and characters, so I’m glad David Production is doing this instead of cutting things out and rushing it. I mean they’re following the manga so much, that they even kept Keicho’s line about CDs. It’s so outdated, hardly anyone uses CDs anymore! They kept such a 90’s line in here like…geez! I love it! So far they haven’t rushed anything, so that’s why it doesn’t seem right that this would only get 39 episodes. I’m not buying it. :/
He actually does say “gureato” every time in the manga, the problem is that the translations by the jojo’s coloured adventure team are mostly taken from Invisible Trio’s translations (and there is a rumor that those translations are just reworded Duwang, or that they simplify stuff)
Oh really? Well that’s interesting. It’s not that big of a deal, but I did wonder where the “great” kept coming from since I didn’t remember reading “great” a lot. Speaking of Duwang, I hope we get the “I feel you! I feel you deeply! Your feeling I can feel deeply!” line later on.
Part IV also is actually longer than part III, so with the current pacing no way they’d be able to fit everything in.
Exactly. 39 episodes is just not enough. I saw that when they announced the preorders for the Vol. 1 BDs, they also announced that this would get the 39 episodes but I would need to double check again, so for now I don’t know how many episodes/seasons it’ll get. Also, for it to get another season, it’d need to stop at a point and I think I know when in the story it would stop. Basically, this is longer than Part 3 so the anime needs to be longer too.
