It’s official. There will be a third season of Haikyuu!! that will air later this year (I think), and I’m so excited for it. Though with the news of a new season, it did kind of spoil the ending of this match. But even if it did, that still didn’t make it less intense than it was! It was crazy intense! And I would have been screaming if my family wasn’t home. Honestly, I think I’m feeling a little nauseous.
Like damn, what am I supposed to say? There’s something about Haikyuu!! where it makes the matches such a delight to watch. With the mention of a third season, it just cemented Karasuno’s win against Aoba Johsai. Because there was no way they were going to lose to them again. So this ending wasn’t totally surprising to me, I had predicted it. A lot of emotions this episode. I think the special thing about Haikyuu!! that I’ve mentioned before is the show’s ability to make you like every single character and every single team. There’s not one character that I really hate. You look at Mad Dog-chan and think, Hm, I’m probably going to hate this guy. But no. We saw him as a Mad Puppy in love with volleyball, he’s just a little rough around the edges. He proved just how amazing of a player he is in this match. Everyone shone. We all want Karasuno to win, to get redemption after such a terrible loss against Aoba Johsai last time. But we don’t really have anything against Aoba Johsai or the players themselves. They’re each likeable in their own right. They just want to win as much as Karasuno, but, oops, they’re not the main characters. So now that creates a conflict with us. I think the matches seem much more intense and fun because we probably don’t know how to feel. We’ll feel glad for Karasuno, but we’ll feel upset for Aoba Johsai. I guess it’s just fun too. The teams don’t have any bad vendettas against each other like other sports anime. It’s just a test of skill, not a game where we’re wishing the opposing team would die in a fire. Also, because it’s a rematch game it was more intense.
Haikyuu!! is just so fun. It’s just so damn fun. I mean look at the title, it has two exclamation points! That’s how you know it’s exciting! Plus you got the yelling, the “Chance ball!”, the amazing animation that just added to the intensity. Just everything. Voice actors delivered, and so did the animators.
Everyone had their time to shine. Yamaguchi came in one more time to pinch serve. Kageyama adapted to the situation and helped Hinata score in the beginning, he also did a feint that pissed off Oikawa. Sugawara stepped in and brought in hell, and he’s supposed to be Mr. Refreshing! :O Everyone played their part and played a crazy good match, both teams tying in the end, with Hinata sending the last spike that hit the tip of Oikawa’s hand, the ball shooting behind him, ending the entire match.
Karasuno is one step closer to becoming the qualifier of their region, but they still have more opponents ahead of them. But they were able to prove themselves. The final episode airs next week, but it’ll only be a short break for me and Charibo as Haikyuu!! will be coming back a little later, and then we’ll see more volleyball, sweat, dumb boys, and Hinata’s squawking “OHHHHHHH!” (You know how it sounds like.) But finally…the end of a much anticipated match. With Aoba Johsai being such a powerhouse school, it’ll only get tougher for our crows.
