Another slow episode this week, there is not much to say until the very last ten minutes. What Satou’s henchmen were doing wasn’t exactly clear until we saw the explosion at the end. But these guys really did put a lot of thought into their plan. Instead of attacking Grant Pharmaceuticals outright, they instead attacked in another way. Pretty damn smart, and crazy that it all went according to plan. Satou is definitely a man that cannot be underestimated.
Tosaki, from the info that he got from the professor, has created a IBM countermeasure plan, while also creating a plan to capture Satou and the other Ajin. We see later that he had giant hoses to rain down on the pharmaceutical company to prevent the IBM from attacking. The police officer at the meeting assured that security is extremely tight, that they have watched for aerial attacks, and that a squad had searched for bombs and came out with negative results. Everything is looking okay so far, but the officer has qualms about Tosaki’s plan, such as the way they would capture Satou. The officer thinks it’s inhumane, but Tosaki is one of those people that doesn’t see Ajin as human. We didn’t learn what method the capture was, but seeing as how this is Satou we’re talking about it has to be something brutal to restrain him.
We see Satou’s henchmen pull off their little plan, by disguising themselves as some cleaning men. They enter some sort of building and are questioned why they’re there. They answer that they were called to check out the building’s pipes, and when the security in front checked the schedule, Satou had somehow put a fake appointment on the computer’s schedule, and they were approved to pass. So once they made it to the basement, they went to do their work, which was to plant bombs.
At that time it was two days before the time Satou had announced he would attack. We see Nakano again in the truck, this time he’s doing push ups. Poor kid, he’s been in there for about a week. As usual Kei visits him to bring down stuff, and this time it was a tablet, to watch the news of the impending attack. Again he tries to persuade Kei to help him and this time Kei listens. Nakano says he knows where Satou’s hideout is, but Kei is right when replying that Satou has already switched places as he’s not the type of man to stay in one place. But Nakano doesn’t care, he really wants to do something, which is to fight. But again, I think Kei is right when saying they can’t just fight against someone like Satou. And besides it would only just be the two of them against a man who’s trained in using firearms. Also, he’s smart. I know Nakano really wants to help, but honestly he has no idea what he’s doing.
The day of the attack arrives, and instead of the pharmaceutical company getting blown up, it was actually a high-rise building next to the company that was blown up. We never learn what kind of building it was, an apartment complex or some company building, who knows but it was completely destroyed. Satou had brought himself to the roof of the building, awaiting the explosion. And the plan was to actually get Satou to the pharmaceutical company by having him fall on it from the blown up building. And it’s amazing that they were able to do this so perfectly. They had to calculate where they would plant the bombs and how many, to figure out at what angle the building would fall exactly on top of the pharmaceutical company. And Satou is a crazy asshole. He’s laughing as the building falls and he crashes down, and all he says is that it was a maximum thrill. Also, he lost his hat in the process. But then he just had another hat delivered to him. THIS GUY. THIS GUY…WHAT. With a gun in hand, he goes off against a special police force.
The episode was pretty slow, we had a lot of talking and not much of anything. Interesting to see Nakano’s reaction and Kei’s reaction to the news. Kei still doesn’t seem to care, but he seemed a little surprised that Satou actually went through with his plan. Also, I really do think Tanaka is going to have a turn around because he wasn’t exactly happy with the sight that he saw even though he was part of this plan. Finally, things are going to get exciting for the last few episodes. Whenever Satou is involved you know it’s going to be thrilling.
Satou used a different method in the manga. You should read chapter 19, it will leave you with your mouth hanging open.
I think I saw someone say somewhere that Satou flew a plane into the building. I don’t know when this manga was written, but…knowing that I’m glad they changed it in the anime. Making him crash into the building in a plane would be extremely inconsiderate towards 9/11 victims so I’m not surprised they changed it. Of course the change they made with the building falling on top of the other building is equally terrifying.
Yeah, that’s what happened. Highjacking a plane and going boom with it. And he knew how to drive it because of realistic flight simulator video games :))
The manga is still ongoing. I think it started in 2013, though I’m not 100% sure.
Hi, i don’t know if you know this but ep 12, and 13 are out.
Yes I know, I’m going to write them both as a single review because I felt that there wasn’t enough to talk about for the 12th episode. I’ll have my final review out soon!
