If you haven’t guessed already, the above are some of my reaction notes I write while watching the episode. I figured, there was no better way to describe my emotions than to just show you (just all jumbled up in a paragraph instead of point form).
But seriously, I had completely forgotten about the devices Jean had installed on his security officers’ hats. He made such a fuss about rushing Yuuya into surgery to have it implanted, I failed to remember it was still a thing! Now Berserk!Yuuya is wrecking absolutely havoc because Jean-Rogers had the stupid thing put into Yuuya’s helmet and the electric shocks Jean-Rogers is applying specifically are meant to simulate aggression. This is why Yuuya’s inner darkness and berserk mode basically reached Hell Mode. By that, I am referring to the other two: Yuugo and Yuuri being dragged into the fray despite being in an entirely different location. This is some pretty scary shit going down because it’s one thing for Yuuya alone to be in Berserk Mode, but with the other two included, hell is breaking loose- that is if they were actually wrecking havoc on their respective ends, but it doesn’t appear to be the case since they never showed it. So if that is the case, despite the chaos unfolding, I suppose there is there is an off-screen joke going on- at least to me anyways. It amuses me when I imagine Yuugo and Yuuri going berserk all alone, anyone who may be walking by would think they are crazy. Moreover, I get the feeling Yuuri is going to lose his shit when he realizes he lost control of himself, but I digress!
I surely couldn’t have been the only one shouting or cursing or both, throughout the entire episode. In fact when they ended it with the bloody cliffhanger, I stood up from my chair and walked away from the computer and proceed to vent into my pillow. This episode was absolutely AGONIZING. I am 10000000% DONE with Crow falling for the “OMG YOu’RE THE TOPS DOG” bait! LIKE HOLY SHIT CROW, ARE YOU FREAKING DEAF? COULDN’T YOU HAVE HEARD YUUYA SCREAMING IN FREAKING PAIN, CLUTCHING TO HIS HELMET- JUST AS HE WAS ABOUT TO TRY AND RUN AWAY- WHICH YOU ENDED UP SHOUTING OUT LOUD FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD TO HEAR, IDIOT!
It was absolutely infuriating to watch!

The main reason why it is frustrating is because Shun was able to restore the faith and trust of the Lancers’ integrity, including Yuuya. Crow even apologized to Yuuya, the two shared their convictions, Yuuya gave alerted him of Jean-Rogers’ plans, they tried to make a plan together to save Yuuya’s friends- but NOPE. All of that flew right out the window! And Crow being the naive emotional idiot he is in this AU, who doesn’t use his head. And it’s sad because before the shit happened, Yuuy was so cool, so mature! We could see how far he has come! Yuuya has become so wise! He was the one who suggested the plan, in hopes to foil Jean-Roger’s plans.
That was one aspect of the pain. The second was where I was begging Sora to do something, to finally act! I was waiting for him to drop onto Crow’s D-Wheel- something the preview implied he might be do within the next episode! BUT SERIOUSLY, DUDE, YOU UNLIKE CROW KNOW YUUYA- HE IS YOUR BFF! I had this sense of relief when Sora was saw that Yuuya was sent to participate in the semi-finals and knew something was up, and decided to hop onto the helicopter to stay close to Yuuya. I said to myself, “Oh thank god Yuuya has a Guardian Angel watching over him.” Well, the said Guardian Angel is being real slow to react considering he already smelled something fishy.
Although this was a purely agonizing episode due to Yuuya getting hurt again, there were also reasons to cheer in celebration! We FINALLY got to see Selena’s bracelet react the exact same way as Yuzu’s. Now the question is, do the girls have an ability to to calm the storm? It has been something I have been wondering about for such a long time, especially with the opening- though their pose is much like when they are going to Fusion Summon. Regardless, this will be a critical moment since Selena is being brought back to the others, Tsukikage and Reira both were able to witness the bracelet flashing like Yuzu’s, and perhaps, we just might see them try something together within the next episode or two- depending how long this fight will drag on. Crow and Sora working together might not be enough to bring Yuuya back to his senses. The only way I see them doing that is breaking that stupid device, or ripping the helmet off of Yuuya’s head.
There will be no episode next week! It will resume on 01/10/16!

Holy Fuck that episode was intense my heart was just screaming inside. When I hear yuya’s scream oh god I was scared for him. There’s 2 things I wanna know #1 being can anyone even see that darkness floating around yuya like seriously that announcers just like oh sorry I thought you where messing around but your random screaming and darkness floating around must be part of your entertainment dueling I’m honestly wandering if she takes drugs. But anyway I’m also curious what jacks thinking because he made a disgusting look when he saw yuya in beserk mode when he was dueling security. What’s your opinion? I AM IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTIONS!!!!!
I don’t think anyone can see the darkness emitting from him (perhaps Yuzu and Selena might be able to since their bracelets are responding), but the biggest clues are perhaps his body language, the monsters which he uses (DDRXYZ) and maybe sometimes people can see other faces in him too- as we are seeing for Sora’s case since he encountered Yuuto in the past. In short it is probably difficult to tell he is being affected by his counter-parts since they are not at the scene in person with him.
The MC is an idiot. I thought she’d be a bit brighter, but nope- she’s as stupid as it can get.
Jack might provide Yuuya a benefit of the doubt if he had paid close enough attention to Yuuya’s behavior before he snaps. But for now, he will probably be more concerned with the current situation of Yuuya’s aggressiveness, then later try to connect the dots when he speculates about his true character.

Aah, misunderstandings. Been a while since we have it.
Poor Crow can’t even hear Yuya’s screaming in pain due to the trumpets and hippos distracting him, so in the end that plan backfired really hard. But we know arcV!Crow already – he’s not too hardheaded in his judgment on people. Even if it means he changes opinions often with what’s presented before him, he’ll still be open to a change in view if suitable evidence presents itself. So here’s hoping Sora can convince him to help Yuya next episode.
Meanwhile Jean is scarier and becoming more of a scumbag the moment he’s cornered. Poor Yuya has gone through a lot already and he’s now actually being physically tortured on top of all that. Wonder what kind of other sick plans he had in mind.
Though…I wonder what city was being destroyed when we see the imagery in Yuya’s eye. Could it be a foreshadowing of the City’s fate…?

Yeah I expect Crow to listen to Sora’s pleas in the next episode, but gosh- you’d think he would finally have enough common sense not to fall for the bait AGAIN! Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me! Now the question is, will Sora and Crow even able to drag him back to his senses? Now that I remember where the stupid device is located, the only option they have is to either RIP THAT HELMET OFF (get a monster to do it if they can’t get close enough) or break into the Security, and destroy the system… which would be a tedious task, so let’s stick to the ripping the helmet off idea. A part of me is hoping to see Yuzu and Selena play a role in bringing calm to the storm, because I am dying to find out what these girls can actually do!
Well Jean is planning to basically have Reiji and the Lancers kiled off by Sergey in order to get his hands on Yuzu and Selena. So he is truly a psychopath.
I looked back to the image of the city when the eye pulled a Zero Reverse it seems (sure looks like it LOL), and sure enough it looks like it may either be the Synchro Realm or even the Standard Realm to me due to the shape of the Tower in the center.
But on that note,since I have looked back, what caught my attention however, is the eye shape and its lashes… I might be over-analyzing it (AKA TOTALLY AM), but I get the sense that eye might not necessarily belong to Yuuya…. Only time will tell! XD
I doubt that even after ripping the helmet will bring Yuya back to his senses. Yuya himself isn’t even aware of the device so there’s no way he’ll somehow be able to realize it and break out of Berserk Mode.
Plus, once it’s unleashed, the only way to stop Berserk Mode is to have Crow and Sora hold him down and let Yuya scream his head off until he falls unconscious after getting the helmet off, or Yuya himself realize it’s not Yuto’s anger and something else and snap out of it.
The only other times why he was able to snap out was because he knew about Yuto. It’s going to be a challenge to get out of this situation.
Yeah I realized that when it was pointed out earlier below. Instead, perhaps this will be the opportunity for Selena’s and Yuzu’s bracelet to reveal one of its tricks! But I won’t hold my breath for it.
Otherwise, it’s just going to be: Rip Helmet Off > proceed to Saving Yuuya with the power of Friendship 😛 or something along the lines!
Roger likely rigged the helmet to be very hard to take off, or maybe it could deliver a horribly painful shock to Yuya sending him into instant berserk if someone attempts to remove it. The guy is a control freak.
Crazy episode to end 2015 and welcome 2016!! All Yuyas going berserk at once due to Roger’s sheer stupidity, he has no idea what hell he just unleashed into this accursed Synchro dimension filled with corrupted rich fellas and hypocritical (regular) citizens!!! And Crow, well that’s the reason I preferred the original 5D’s Crow more, he’s too blind to fall for the same crap started by Shinji and flared up by Roger, but to be honest I DON’T want Crow to lose (or at least, die miserably), imagine what fury the madden Yuyas could unleash to this poor soul 🙁
Whatever, with the New Year looming, Sora will be the one to “enlighten” crow in an attempt to snap the Yuyas out of this mess! Happy New Year folks and goodbye!!!
Since he is quite afraid of Yuuri: I have to say, he royally messed up now because once Yuuri comes back to his senses, the minute he finds out Jean-Rogers was the one who pulled the trigger, he will absolutely destroy him, I am sure of it.
Hahaha yes! That is also one of my reasons why I am glad Yusei is not in this AU, he is being spared from this. I REALLY don’t want Crow to lose either, it would be more fun to see the tournament interrupted because that’s what they need to do at this point. But the writers appear to really want Yuuya and Jack have their rematch, so it seems likely the tournament will be able to wrap up properly- but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t.

It was a pretty decent episode with things truly hype worth. First they slightly have that vision of a certain city being destroyed to ashes and now all four of the counterparts are literally sync into one including Yuto who already have been absorb. Mainly, I gotta give props to Kensho Ono for the way he’s voicing both Yuya and Yuri(though they have the same voice it’s how they’re displayed makes it incredible and the way they fit). Something I also noticed was Yuto and Yugo’s voices being similar due to them being voiced by twin brothers and trying to also sound similar to Yuya in different aspects. Looking back it actually make a lot of sense one counterpart being the opposite of another, we have Yuya who is displayed as a fun loving person who can be emotional where Yuri is there shown as the dark version of him using dark actions and have his own meaning of fun; Next is with Yuto where he’s pretty calm and doesn’t express emotion unless when needed where Yugo is laid back and hotblooded which is a good opposite towards him. Lastly, with the huge amount of shit that’s about to go down it’s now fair to blame Jean.
LOL, and the joke is on him. If Beserk!Yuuya ends up destroying the realm, Jean-Rogers won’t have anything or anyone to build his dream Kingdom with. 😛
this episode was bloody insane! Although i’m now completely convinced that Roger is a fucking psychopath! Now that i think about it he seems to have quite a few traits of one… He has a charismatic personality where he’s all polite and that, he’s cunning, manipulative, has a big grandiose personality and he doesnt have any empathetic traits and just uses people around him wanting to control them… there is a list that i looked up but i’m pretty sure now that he is a psychopath because he has shown NO remorse for anything he has done and when his plans start to fail he shows how much it affects him before he formulates a plan to work around.
I actually wonder if Rin and Ruri’s bracelet’s are glowing as well considering that ALL of the yu’s are in beserk mode now!
Speaking of Crow, i was all ‘Yes, you’ve reached your senses! I love you again!!’ at the beginning and then when he starting thinking that Yuya was with the tops after all my reaction was exactly this:
“*stares at screen* Didn’t take you long Crow did it? You gained my respect and then lost it again all in ONE episode! *gets up calmly* *walks to other side of the room* *FLIPS TABLE!*
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!? ARE YOU DEAF OR BLIND!!? HE’S SCREAMING IN FUCKING PAIN! YES I KNOW THE ANNOUNCER LADY DIDNT NOTICE BUT SHE’S A LOST CAUSE TO BEGIN WITH!!! MOREOVER WHY WOULD THE TOPS NEED TO USE YUYA!?? IT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE THERE’S NO REASON FOR YOUR SHORTSIGHTEDNESS!!!!!!”
So yeah, Crow better grow a fecking brain soon! Cos his idiocy is pissing me off. At least the idiocy Yugo shows is funny!
And That was exactly my reaction to that revelation! They need to knock his bloody helmet off!! Sora you can do it i believe in you!!! I know you are a good guy now, you passed my expectations!
Well, to be fair to Crow the hippos and the trumpets tokens were making a very loud noise( I was getting a headache during this part), he was fairly far of Yuya and looking at his back, the sound of the motorcycles and the wind were very loud, and Yuya didn’t do what they agreed to and had a very sudden change of behavior.
It was still frustrating but no Shinji tier of dumb.
Jean planned to implant the brainwashing chip on Yuya, but because he was in a hush he changed it to a chip on his helmet that sends shocks to a part of his brain to stimulate agressiveness instead, even ripping his helmet might not work because Yuya isn’t brainwashed.
The most surprising part of the episode for me was to see Serena’s bracelet reacting because it’s the first time it happens, I wonder what it does.
It will agonizing to wait for the next episode, all the HYPE!
Yeah, that makes sense. Ripping off the helmet alone won’t be enough. The aggression is already active. Perhaps if this does prove to the the case (and likely so), maybe, JUST MAYBE this will be Selena’s and Yuzu’s cue for whatever the heck they have up their sleeves something even they don’t know about!!!! Hello. First time posting here, though I’ve been reading this blog for a while (didn’t have time :P)
I find it interesting how the cliffhanger to end 2015 was very similar to the one that ended 2014 – if I remember correctly, that year ended with Sora being sent back to Academia and the entire dimension business being revealed (and the first instance of Yugo and Yuto going berserk, I think, or one or two episodes before that – somewhere around ep. 36). Funny how the Sora situation is so different now.
I’m honestly worried about Tsukikage, Serena and Reira, though. In the previous episode it was shown that Reira couldn’t keep up the pace with Tsukikage when they were escaping, and now we see that they had to stop somewhere in the city (and well, Yuri won’t stay berserk forever, probably)… I hope that one shot of them back in the third opening wasn’t foreshadowing or anything. :c
