Very slow episode this time around, nothing new really happened until the second half. The first half consisted of a recap of all the events that have happened regarding the cases of the two murders with Saikawa and Nishinosono returning to their camp, Moe getting drunk and telling the whole story to everyone else at the camp and Sensei musing to himself on the beach.
After all that, Yamane comes onto the beach to meet with Saikawa. Because the lab made a contract with NASA, Yamane is asking Sensei to keep Magata’s murder a secret until that week. He even tries to buy him off! He says it wasn’t his decision as we saw in the beginning that he was in a meeting with every single member of the lab. But doesn’t that seem a little suspicious? I don’t know, maybe just me. And of course Sensei refuses.
It’s then that we get to the more important stuff. We get some more depth between Sensei and Moe. I said before that their dialogue with each other was always pretty awkward as Moe was always trying to win Saikawa over and getting ignored. But since last episode near the end and this episode, I like their dialogue more. Moe really knows Saikawa well. She could tell that he still wanted to stay on the island and not go home. He said he wouldn’t let Moe stay on the island until she would give him a good reason to stay, something that would convince him. Moe says she wants to stay on the island because she wants to know why Magata chose to talk with her, why she asked about her parent’s death, and all of those other personal questions. Moe feels like its relevant to the case and wants to figure everything out. And, they both decide to stay. Well, I agree with Moe. I do think that her interview with Magata could be linked to the case somehow. Just…somehow.
As they both return to the lab they go back to investigation mode. Saikawa asks for a print of things brought to Magata’s room from the past year or so. Then he and Moe check the surveillance video of that night again. And something I didn’t catch was revealed this episode: the elevator. The short time frame between Magata’s body leaving the cart and when the lights go out, the elevator shows that it went from B2 to R, the roof. Who on Earth went inside the elevator and went for the roof? Well it shows that someone really could have hid under the dress on the cart and when the lights went out, they could have quickly ran inside the elevator. But I’m sure they’d all hear that, or see the light from the elevator.
Another clue we found (i guess?) was that all of the books in Magata’s room go up to 15. Each book’s volume only goes up to 15. So Saikawa says Everything Becomes F is Everything Becomes 15. I don’t really know what that means, except I guess that the 15 represents Magata’s life changing 15 years ago when her parents were killed. I don’t know if 15 is significant in another way.
And in the end of the episode we saw what happened with Magata’s parents. The uncle hesitated too much killing them so Magata grabbed the knife and killed her mother, then the uncle came from behind her and helped her kill her father. The father said the “I won’t let you do this!” and then died, like the aunt had retold. It’s then we see the aunt come in at the end of the scene and Magata’s next words were chilling. Sounded like she wanted to kill her aunt too, which would make sense if she wanted to continue having an affair with her uncle. Everything was the same except for the screaming like she was possessed thing and laughing happening unless that came right after the scene ended. Now everyone is saying that the aunt is probably the murderer as she probably found out about the affair. But wouldn’t that be pretty boring? It’s been done so if that ends up being the case I’d be disappointed.
And that’s that. Nothing entirely new happened except for the elevator clue, and the books being 15 volumes. Still not enough clues and I really want this to be solved soon. Or at least more clues to help me solve the murders but I’m still sticking with the theory that Magata had a child she lived with. But these are the clues and facts we have so far.
CLUES
- Magata’s room needs her hand print to open the door from the inside so someone was in the room.
- Her body’s limbs were removed.
- The inside of her room is completely spotless even though the murder took place there.
- Everything Becomes F (Fifteen?)
- Messages left by herself and her personalities
- Michiru, the robot, who can only lock and unlock doors. (what significance could it have?)
- Toys and a sewing machine
- Table with two chairs (as if someone is living with her)
- Magata had a more advanced version of the Red Magic system
- When Magata’s body was riding on the cart, the system was malfunctioning (how and why?)
- The elevator during that moment went from B2 to R
- The uncle was killed from behind in the helicopter, probably from someone he knew
- Does Miki, Magata’s little sister, have something to do with all this and does her arrival mean anything?
