Dance With Devils Episode 8: [Waltz of Transience]

When I first saw the preview of this episode I thought this was going to be a Fan-service episode with all the devils dressed like princes, battling with songs to win Ritsuka’s heart . Was I right? Was I wrong ? The suspense is killing me and I must confess I still believe, when there’s a new episode I lose my mind. Give me a sign . SING WITH ME ONE MORE TIME !

This week’s episode opens with Rindo spreading Holy water on Ristuka, not to wash her sins (or her impure’s thoughts about Rem-sama) but to protect her … I guess.. Well , that ‘s the only thing that Rindo is doing in this show. Every time he opens his mouth it’s to say ” I will protect you Ritsuka”… So, my chances to be right are really high.

Anyway, that day, the school is holding a Festival where Ritsuka wants to go. Rindo accepts but Ritsuka will be followed either by him or Azuna during the whole day. We already know that they’re going to fail, not because Ritsuka is a fucking ninja who can easily escape from Alcatraz if she wanted to, but because our two exorcists really suck at their job. I swear, I’ll send them to the True Cross Academy to study how to be a decent exorcist and then they will have to do an 1 year internship at the Black Order to learn how to do their job properly ʕ ᓀ ᴥ ᓂ ʔ

Rem announces to the Jerkcrew that he found the grimoire in a church in Vienna. Of course it’s a lie because he obvioulsy knows that the rest of the jackass devils want the grimoire for their own interests and that therefore he can’t trust them.

But I’m really wondering, why is Rem still working with those jerks if he knows that they are going to betray him ? They are a bit useless if you ask me, so ditching their ass shouldn’t be a big loss for you Rem. But this isn’t Rem’s main preoccupation. Right now, he’s staying  in the library wondering what he should be doing about the grimoire. Because he knows that Ritsuka is the grimoire, he will probably have to kill her. Oh, just admit that you care about her already!

After leaving the Student Council’s room, Senor Urie, Mage the great and Creepy Shiki start plotting against Rem and discussing how they could get the grimoire for themselves. Also Urie slapped Shiki with his rose and Mage threw him against the wall. I don’t really know why but this whole scene had Yaoi tones… Brrrr, I don’t like that, please stop ʕ´• ᴥ •`ʔ

Oh and the dog, Loewen, is gone. Good riddance. Never liked him. Jerk…

Back to the School Festival, Ritsuka is making pancakes with Azuna. She sees her brother subtlety watching her and even if he was really discreet, Azuna leaves the pancake stand to ask him to go away and to practice his hiding skills far away from them. Of course Azuna, leave. Leave RITSUKA ALONE . DIDN’T YOU LEARN ANYTHING DURING THE PAST SEVEN EPISODES ?!

So yeah, while she’s gone talking to Rindo, a Devil’s puppet comes and announce that Ritsuka has a “visitor” wishing to see her. It’s Senor Urie, waiting behind some tents, smelling his rose like a creep. He asks her to be his partner for the ball and to give him her soul and body. Eh, slow down a bit Urie, it’s not Christmas yet.  Of course, one creep does not creep around alone and the rest of the second hand ‘s devils are there. They all ask her to be their partner but Shiki notices that her fragrance is not coming through like usual. We learned in the previous episode that this fragrance was the smell of the grimoire. So did something happened to Ritsuka then ? Or maybe something is going to happen…Fishy, fishy… Also, they let her know that Rem has found the grimoire in Vienna. She’s a bit surprised but quickly understand that Rem lied to them because she’s the grimoire and as far as she knows, she’s not in Vienna at the moment.
Shortly after, Azuna and Rindo arrive to protect Ritsuka… Late as always. If the Devils’s plan was to kill Ritsuka she will be already dead. You really need to work on your exorcisms abilities. Just sayin’.

But the most amazing thing happens right after Azuna and Rindo’s arrival. Crazy fan girls come to capture their beloved devils. So, Sir Urie, Bossman Mage and  Master Shiki are taken away by their respective fan-base. the funny thing is that they are all dressed in different ways. Goth Lolitas for Shiki, Rock-punk for Mage, and mini skirts and crop tops for Urie. There’s also guys in Mage’s crowd … Yeah… Hummm…

LET’S MOVE ON TO THE DANCE !ʕつ ͡◔ ᴥ ͡◔ʔつ

Ritsuka and Azuna arrive at the dance. They have to participate in a silly game : if you find a queen’s crown in your drink, you’re the queen of the night and you have to dance with the king. Of course, Ritsuka finds it in her drink. Urie, Mage and Shiki are also present at the dance and they somehow managed to escape from their fan-girls and fan-boys (what has be seen cannot be unseen Mage, sorry). They see that Ritsuka has the queen’s crown so they all drink their glass really fast but sorry, you’re not the main guy of this show so you don’t have the right to get the crown. Know your place. Thank you ʕ； •`ᴥ•´ʔ

STOP! I’m sorry can’t conceal my feelings anymore …

Please, someone, do something!  Stop making horrible outfits please! THIS IS NOT PROJECT RUNWAY HERE ! WHAT ARE THOSE AAAAH!!! Please Burn that outfit with fire Rem !  MUSTARD PANTS ARE FORBIDDEN RINDO ! AND AAAH RITSUKA WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU ?WHAT’S UP WITH THE CRAZY LITTLE HAT !! This is the kind of thing that I will never wear. Or maybe just at New year’s Eve, if I’m in a good mood ʕ ◔ᴥ◔ ʔ

Fioou. I’m okay now… Let’s continue with the episode…

So Rem obtain the King’s crown. Oooh I’m really surprised .. He’s also doing his usually Tsundere’s act like saying: I’m going to dance with you not because I like you or anything but because I have to. .. We get it Rem, we get it. While they’re dancing , Ritsuka thanks him for always protecting her and her brother and then the atmosphere warms up a bit. It’s now the moment for the first Duet of the show:

UH..

I don’t know where to begin. This song is Bad. It’s funny how bad it is. I think it’s meant to be bad (at least I hope so). This is a love song and it’s not catchy at all. Rem and Ristuka are dancing with Rainbows, Unicorns and Dogs. Everything is overflowing with nice feelings. Is this really the Mighty Rem, Heir of the Arlond Family who is dancing with rainbows, singing about love while petting a dog ? What I mean is: this song’s visual are funny because it’s all marshmallow and sugar stuff and that really contrasts with the rest of the show. But I don’t really know why I wasn’t really moved and didn’t laugh that much. I laughed more during the first songs in episodes 1 and 2 of this show, and I’m still laughing my ass off during STARMYU’s songs but for this one I don’t know.. MEH… Maybe I was expecting a nice badass catchy song… Meh again.

While Rem and Ritsuka are dancing and gettin’ all lovey dovey, the Rest of the devil’s cast is silently watching them in a dark corner like losers from a bad TV reality show such as the Bachelor or a crap like that. SORRY SHE DIDN’T GIVE YOU THE ROSE, YOU’RE OUT BOBBY!!

OH COME ON ! I thought you were going to do anything to get the girl, and after the first obstacle you give up ? Waaaahh, what mighty devils you are. But I’m sure that in reality,  you are  really pissed off. Rem, the only guy that stayed silent since the beginning, gets the girl. He gets the girl just by standing there and being beautiful (well, he’s  also the Blue prince of dancing flames but QUIET ! it’s a secret). At the end of the dance, to make the whole thing more romantic (just in case you didn’t understand the first time): Fireworks. But all the romantic atmosphere is killed by Rem’s party pooper skills when he decides to leave the ballroom without saying anything.

While they are coming home, Rindo, Rituska and Azuna are attacked by the Drag Queen vampire and his vampire army. They all try to kidnap Rituka while our little exorcists are trying to try protect her. At some point Rindo enters his berserk’s vampire mode with red eyes and Azuna dies . Ahaha …

WAIT WHAT ?!

AZUNA IS KILLED BY THE VAMPIRE GUY ? WHAAAAAAT ?! Not cool, not cool at all. You can’t kill characters like that Anime.

But yes. Azuna tries to protect Ritsuka another time but she’s killed by the vampire guy. While she’s lying on the ground, Ritsuka shouts a big “NOOOOO” and white light starts to spread all around her. She might have activated the grimoire’s powers or something like that… I’m not sure if the white light was really useful because it doesn’t seems to cure Azuna, but at least it was useful for the shit vampire guy who now knows that Ritsuka is the grimoire. Now he can report what he found to Lord Nesta ( Who the hell is lord Nesta by the way ? ).

This end of episode was : Waaaah, I did not see that coming at all. I thought that they were going to escape like always. But no, reality hurts. Eventually Azuna is coming back to life, because since Ritsuka is the grimoire she might be able to do something if she learns how to control and use her magic.

Next episode : There will be a battle between Rindo and Rem to see who can really protect Ritsuka. Things are getting more and more tense now, Have fun with that Nikolita !ʕ•̀ω•́ʔ✧
