How do you make one episode of a show and split it between Food porn and heart wrenching emotions? Well obviously the answer to that is to hospitalize your main character and have everyone bring them food. Then in the same episode, have him decide to risk life and sanity to save all the ability users of the world. Also pinky promising the girl he loves that he’ll come back, because that doesn’t scream ‘death flag’ for one of them.
So basically, Yu after recovering from the damage caused by the terrorist in the previous episode decides on Tomori’s suggestion to go and plunder all the abilities from users all over the world. Starting with Tomori, this is the point that he promises her that he’ll return. While he was recovering, he urged Yusarin and Misa to go to their parents. So Misa could say one last goodbye, she has the chance that a lot of other people don’t. A second chance to see all the people who were important to her in life.
While there were points in this episode with Yu and Shunsuke that were a little upsetting. Nothing really was more depressing then the scenes with Misa. The scene when she’s on TV, and she gets to thank her parents. How her mother, even though she didn’t know for sure that it was Misa. Said that Yusa reminded her of Misa during that moment.
The part where she accepts that it’s time to move on, leaving behind a letter for Yusa. Saying that it’d been fun to hang out with the people in the student council. That she was sad, that the one person she really wanted to spend more time with was never around when she was. Takajo, Misa, Yusa. They are basically side characters in the greater plot of this series….
I love them all. I like that Takajo is a huge dork despite his appearance, I love Misa’s attitude despite the way she cares for other people, I even love Yusa’s stupid cheery face and that delicious looking cream stew that she brings Yu in the hospital.
Honestly there are a few places the last episode could go. It could end on a happy ending, defying all of my expectations for it. It could go for a very depressing ending, where Yu manages to save all of the ability users but dies from an overload of power or goes insane and kills himself. We could be even looking at a bittersweet ending, where he doesn’t manage to save them all but lives and Tomori forgives him and loves him anyway.
I’m both excited and scared. We’ll just have to see what emotional suffering awaits us in the next episode.

I really liked this episode, so many mixed feelings.. sadness, comedy, the magic of making you feel hungry at any time and even philosophical aspects.. but that death flag though
How about an ending where Yuu manages to get all ability, is at his limit but gets his sanity back because of tomori kissing him (classic romance)
