Now, I already know the answer to this, but who’s ready to see “humans are assholes that destroy the enviroment” story #457? Now I know everybody here of course said “yes”, so AWESOME! LET’S DO IT!
So our episode starts out with a crazy spirit….weasel…thing popping off a bunch of random people’s heads.
The other two basically say that that one’s gone too far and it’s their brother and he shouldn’t kill humans but he has to because the evil humans destroyed their home with their development. The brother and sister then say that they have to get the help of the guy with the beast spear. (shifts eyes) Is there like….a yokai network where they all talk to each other and KNOW the beast spear’s out again? It seems like every other monster’s been surprised when the guy had the beast spear, but I guess these weasel things are…better informed?
Anyway, they of course go seek out Ushio and test him by attacking him and get face owned.
So..are the random people in the street seeing this or are they just like…seeing a guy who magically grew hair swing a spear at nothing? For that matter, does the world now believe in Yokai as dozens of people have been murdered by them recently? They don’t really talk about that.
The brother and sister basically tell Ushio they need him to kill their brother because he went ‘the crazy’. He says he won’t do it because he’s not an assassin, but they show him a piece of a dead guy and say “that’s part of a human he killed.”
The brother wants to talk alone to Ushio so the sister has to talk to Tora outside. The guy explains to Ushio how the three of them in tandem, one of them would trip a person, the second one would cut them, and…the third person would heal them. I…guess they did this just to freak out the people so they’d leave? But that just seems oddly counterproductive to me.
“Our warning for you to get out of here is to trip you, cut you slightly, and then to make sure you never come back again, we’ll stitch you up. MWAHAHA” Yeah I know their not evil, it just seems silly to me.
Meanwhile, Tora and the sister have a dick waving contest with each other with results in Tora sensing some bad shit going down, but apparently the sister doesn’t realize it as she continues to attack Tora and cuts off his arm.
“he told me enough, he told me YOU killed her!”
“No Tora….”I” am your mother.”
“NOOOOO!!”
It turns out the brother’s back and has come back because he hasn’t had enough crazy yet and tells his brother and sister that he’s going to basically kill every human on the planet. To which the two are like “Um fuck that, you’re crazy.” So Ushio attacks and of course gets pwned like a noob.
Luckily Tora uses his dismembered arm to injure the yokai and it goes away for a while.
Apparently the only way to save Ushio from his pwnage is to have the sister heal him. So she does.
So they patch up Ushio as well as Tora’s arm and proceed to tell them the backstory of how they were happy and then how the evil humans built shit and drove them out of their home.
So since they’re going to build in ANOTHER place he lived, this time the yokai thing is going to kill all the construction crews. (Man…this show really hates construction crews, doesn’t it?)
Luckily Ushio shows up to kick his ass, but now we’re treated to the “Humans aren’t all bad” part of these stories where the weasel..yokai.thing.. (yeah I know it has a Japanese name but I don’t really care. Besides, it’s more fun to type “weasel thing”) makes rocks fall on everybody but Ushio stops it from crushing his brother and sister. He then gives a speech about how he loved a jungle gym and they tore it down and how he knows how he feels and he’s sorry.
This seems to actually be affecting the yokai, but then the jerk construction crew shows up and throws rocks as the evil demonic looking thing. Because they’re fucking idiots.
“What? No, that’s fucking retarded!”
“Welp, too bad. Doing it anyway!”
It is about to attack then when Ushio calls out to ask it for help so it can save his brother and sister. The humans hear them asking for help and actually do go back and lift the truck off them before it explodes.
The weasel thing then decides to not kill everyone and Ushio tells him that he’ll help them all relocate and no one else has to die. D’aw…it’s a happy ending!
OR IS IT?!
Nope, as the weasel thing knows it can’t go on and randomly attacks Ushio, getting stabbed by instinct and fades away as he tells his bro and sis that in order to stay in this world, they have to look like humans.
and of course Ushio’s sad about it.
And that’s where the episode ends.
Ok, one of the first things I have to say about this episode was, I was NOT sad when this thing died at the end. Ushio’s acting like it was his brother or something, or someone innocent but…um…did we forget THIS?
Yeah. Remember THAT? Ushio was going to literally let this thing walk off La Di Da after THAT. I didn’t WANT this thing to live. I don’t care if it might “find a home” later, but…sorry this thing had to die. I think in it’s heart the demon thing knew that too. Or maybe it didn’t. I don’t know. But i’m not a big fan of Ushio’s “Let bygones be bygones”. THAT DUDE THERE DOESN’T HAVE A HEAD ANYMORE.
On another topic, yes. We get it. Humans bad. Nature good. Okay, thank you Ted Turner. I recycle, I walk instead of drive a lot of places I will help the environment more, christ, I’ll plant a tree or something. I get it.
I do see they tried to show that humans can be good, but the obvious environmental message was still there. Also probably because they didn’t know you existed. Then again, are they ALLOWED to talk to humans normally? Once again, I don’t know.
I have a feeling this episode was trying to make you feel bad for the evil thing, but unfortunately I really couldn’t. Bishoneny mc Weasel was all

Look, here’s an idea. You guys have been around for a while, and this construction probably started a while ago. You guys can take human forms, so why don’t you like…get jobs or make money and then you know…BUY the land so no one will bother you? It’s shown you guys can function perfectly as humans so..buy yourself some land in the middle of nowhere?
This episode did make me roll my eyes a lot, but it wasn’t necessarily a BAD episode, it was just one of THOSE episodes. Also, of course it derails us from our main character going to see his mother. Because of course, why would we want to see THAT?
Anyway, I ranted enough.
