While not as emotional as the previous two weeks episodes, it isn’t as if the show has given up on making us feel. The episode begins by showing us that life goes on after loosing a loved one. With Yu back on the straight and narrow and back attending school. Life continues on, Yusarin is adorable, Takajo is a giant dork. Some things never change, no matter what happens. Life will always continue on, and for Yu, it’s sort of pleasant.
Tomori calls them to the student council room and while it looks like we might go looking for more power users. Instead it’s just watching Yusarin’s new music video and figuring out who’s going to the Zhiend concert with Tomori.

It’s Yu, he’s the only other person in the group that has any interest at all into their music. So they both have tickets go to to the Zhiend concert. Speaking of Zhiend, Yu just sort of happens to run into their lead singer running around screaming about Modern-Yaki. I love this woman, she’s loud, she’s brash but she’s also super kind.
She’s blind so she is a little more sensitive to things then people who do have their eyesight. She’s able to tell from Yu’s breathing and the way he’s speaking that something tragic has just happened to him. He tells her about his sister, and she wants to offer up incense to her. Not only that, but she’s willing to stick around and help him. I don’t even think it’s all entirely because he got her food either. I think it was the genuine kindness that he shows her.

Which she even asks, if he was always like this. He says no, he wasn’t and that something changed him. That something, was Tomori. The way she stuck by him through everything in the last episode, changed him for the better. I wouldn’t say the sociopath we saw at the beginning of the series is completely gone out of him. However, he’s trying to clean up his act and be a better person. Because of Ayumi, because of Tomori and the way she stayed by his side.

So he takes the lead singer, who’s name is Sala. To go see Tomori’s brother up at the hospital, as he used to be a huge fan of her music. He’s hoping that meeting with Sala will help the brother out, perhaps help bring his sanity back after what was done to him. They go into the room and he’s in another one of his fits, Sala with Yu’s help. Comes to understand the situation and then begins singing, it’s beautiful.
The English is a little shaky for for the most part, it’s wonderful to listen too. As she sings, Kazuki’s fit dies down and by the end of it. He seems almost coherent. Yu asks him if he knows him, if he knows Nao…and Kazuki speaks. He says Nao’s name, you get a call from her later saying that she’s come by the hospital and he knows and acknowledges her.

It’s sweet, it’s really sweet. I have to fully admit that I teared up, I may not of full out cried because this series has killed me with Ayumi but, this was a very sweet episode and I’m glad it was here. It show cased a wonderful change in Yu’s character, progressed Tomori’s story line with her brother and while she’s not a major character. It introduced Sala, who I adore. The last scene of her getting chewed out and dragged away by her manager was absolutely hilarious.
I am looking forward to the concert next episode, there is some mystery hiding in this bands music I think. The way that it makes Yu feel nostalgic. Perhaps we’ll get some leads into that next episode.
Zhiend concert, GO!
