Aoharu x Kikanjuu Episode 8: What Controls Your Mind Now

Midori can go fuck off.

Where…do I even start? How Masamune and Midori used to be friends as kids and that’s why Masamune is so traumatized? That Masamune was tortured? That Midori feels no remorse at all for his actions? That team Toy Gun Gun miserably lost in the worst way? They’re all terrible and depressing but I suppose I should go in order.

Midori and Masamune used to be friends! Wow…that sure makes this situation a lot worse. They used to be friends and Midori looked pretty normal. They were always into survival games when they were younger, they each bought their guns and they trained together. Midori seems to have the most experience of the two as we saw in the flashback that Masamune had barely bought his first gun when Midori already had his own. Well it seemed like they had a great friendship but somewhere along the way Midori lost his fucking mind or something and their friendship deteriorated. Knowing all of this, Midori’s betrayal followed by Masamune’s trauma really…just makes sense why he has so much trauma near him. And what’s worse is that Midori held Masamune down, purposely covered his mouth so he wouldn’t be able to say hit when Midori kept shooting him. And he was shooting him point blank. Right against his body. That hurts. That was painful. These aren’t your standard shitty plastic BB guns. These are quality guns that look like real guns, and I’m sure they shoot exactly like a real gun, the only difference being the bullets and BB pellets. So to be shot so close over and over again…Masamune deals with emotional trauma and physical pain all from someone who he thought of as a friend. I can’t imagine that. That was hard to watch.

Yukimura comes in but he’s taken down just as quick. And then Hotaru comes in but of course it’s too late. She’s the only one from Toy Gun Gun standing. She had doubted Yukimura before, but after seeing her two teammates beaten on the ground, she now knows how evil Midori is and her bloodlust appears again.

At this point I knew Hotaru was going to lose. She didn’t know that Ichi was hiding somewhere and I knew she was going to be the one that would deal the finishing blow as Hotaru was only focusing on Midori. And the only reason why Hotaru was shot was because Midori mentioned her real gender. Hotaru froze up, and that was Ichi’s chance to shoot her. He told her he found out she was a female when he touched her at the gun shop. I actually expected him to out her in front of Masamune and Yukimura, just to further hurt the team since he practically gets off from doing that. But he’s still the only one that knows Hotaru is really a girl. I don’t know how or if Hotaru’s gender will really be revealed to the boys later on, but Hotaru definitely won’t be the one since she said she wanted to when she would exact revenge on Hoshishiro, but that didn’t happen.

So Toy Gun Gun’s running in the TGC comes to a quick end, and we then learn that at the end of the TGC team Hoshishiro won yet again, making them five-time champions. We have a few more episodes left and it looks like we’ll see the pink-haired friend again. But Hotaru, Masamune, and Yukimura probably won’t even go near a BB gun for awhile.

Midori is a piece of crap. There’s nothing to like about this guy. He thinks it all a game. Torturing his old friend, it’s all just a game to him. He can only do these things in the TGC, shooting, stomping, just straight up beating on someone. Imagine if he had this freedom everywhere he went. This man is a sociopath. He takes pleasure in hurting others and he feels absolutely no remorse for his actions. None. He even said it himself. He feels no regret and he loves this. And I hate him.
