So we’re heading into another season of anime, and Tribe Cool Crew is still trucking along. Are you as excited as I am? Probably not because I’m not certain if anyone besides me actually WATCHES Tribe Cool crew, but that’s besides the point. Are we ready to begin? Awesome. Let’s do it.

So the episode begins with the group waking up and heading over to the fourth round of Dance Road. They make their way to a giant picture of Jey which turns out to be a hologram and head inside.

Subtle Jey...subtle
Subtle Jey…subtle

Once they get into the room, they’re informed by the butler of what’s going to happen. However, several of the participants are getting pissed off that it’s the fourth round and they still haven’t seen Jey yet. They respond to this by him appearing…in a hologram. He talks to them and that convinces them enough to shut up and keep on going. Because you know…yeah. Holograms are totally proof.

Have we learned NOTHING from Tupac?
Have we learned NOTHING from Tupac?

In there, there’s a set up pretty much like the first round. … I guess it wasn’t important for people to see rounds 2 and 3 but it was important for rounds 1 and 4? Upon arriving, we learn that Team Sakura and Team Machine Gun actually have combined teams, so now, there are four teams. And honestly. I had to laugh. They say that only two teams are going to proceed. And….that’s Tribe Cool Crew, the new duo team Blossom Bullets, and then two random teams we’ve never seen before with members who don’t ever speak. (snicker) gee. I wonder which two are going to make it.

Seriously..I can hardly contain my anxiety. Who could possibly win?
Seriously..I can hardly contain my anxiety. Who could possibly win?

So first the two “who the hell are these guys” teams go and then Blossom Bullets goes and their dance is pretty damn good, mixing Team Sakura’s talents with The Machine guns.

Then it’s Tribe Cool Crew’s turn. However, if you remember from last episode, Kumo broke his toe so he can’t dance. So the four of them have to go out and dance without him, with his encouragement. And…surprise surprise, the two groups with voice actors win.

Pff. Did you really think you were going to win? They couldn't even be assed to give you guys voice actors
Pff. Did you really think you were going to win? They couldn’t even be assed to give you guys DIALOGUE

They’re all excited and give Kumo the pin to hold on to. Ah. poor Yaneru Doesn’t get one. However we learn he doesn’t get one because he’d take it apart anyway.

The group running Dance Road then talk about how people dropped out of the fourth round because they were worried about Crowd High and they need good people to win.

That’s the end of the episode.

Wait a second. I can buy that Crowd High is worrying the dance community, but I find it REALLY hard to believe that people who made it to the FOURTH round of Dance Road have dropped out due to it. I mean, It takes a LOT to get that far. I don’t think these people would drop it just like that. That’s asking me to swallow a lot show.

I shall dub these people "Weiner Dancers"
I shall dub these people who dropped out, “Wiener Dancers”

Anyway, So yeah, it’s good to see that we passed the fourth round of Dance Road, and the next round is going to be the last one. Kind of makes me wonder how long this show is going to be. If I had to guess i’d say it’s probably going to be the last season to make it a 52’er, of course, I have been known to be wrong before.

This episode was pretty good. There was some good dancing, the characters were all into it, and, there was an energy about it, however, I do have to laugh that we’re this far into dance road and we have them going up against random ass people that we know are going to lose. That made me laugh.

Also the fact that they were completely satiated by a Jey hologram. ….I know “I” wouldn’t be. Someone could easily be putting his likeness over theirs in a hologram. But….that’s maybe just my paranoid opinion.

All in all, not a bad episode. I enjoyed it, and I can’t wait to see how the final round of Dance Road will go. Still, before we get there you know what has to happen first. That’s right. One more chunk of filler episodes. Bring it on Tribe Cool, Bring it on.

Episode 7.5/10

For some reason, I thought I recognized the all-girl team from the first round. Might have just been my imagination, though.

This episode really had a “we’re coming into the home stretch” feel to it, so I figure we’ll get another coeur with this cast… any longer and I’m afraid this storyline is going to overstay its welcome.

I’d love “Tribe Cool Crew” to become a perennial all-ages franchise, like “Detective Conan” or “Pretty Cure”, but I’m not sure how they could pull that off, considering that the name “Tribe Cool Crew” refers to these specific five people. I also have no idea whether this show is making any money, but I guess it’s a good sign that it’s been on for almost a year.

In any case, I’m glad that Sentai Filmworks licensed this show, because I haven’t enjoyed an all-ages anime this much since “Sasami’s Magical Girls’ Club”, and that went off the air in 2006.
