“There are seven of us…”
Impression
So it was a trap after all! And now all seven of them are stuck inside – a plan presumably engineered by whoever the fake Brave is. I have a feeling the Fiends left the temple mostly unharmed on purpose, in order to give off the impression that it was being attacked. Any of the real Braves who were nearby would then rush to protect it and end up wandering inside, trapping themselves in. I do think it’s odd that the last three Braves to be introduced all looked like they had just entered the temple from the only entrance when supposedly no-one can enter or leave the fog – and of the three, two of them certainly look dodgy.
I mean, this Hans Humpty person just screams shady – if he’s even a human at all that is, now that we know that Fiends can both talk to some degree and mimic human appearances. At the same time, he’s so obviously dodgy that he instead seems like an easy-to-spot red herring, and it would definitely be more interesting if the fake Brave was actually someone far better at hiding themselves and putting up a front – like Maura, who just seems like a prim and proper Saint so far. The other new Saint, Chamot Rosso, is a creepy loli who unsettles me for some reason. Why has she recently seen Goldof? And why does she want to start by killing Fremy? It’s not like the fake couldn’t come from the Braves we already know, though – Fremy is the Brave-Killer who has been chosen as a Brave, and Nashetania said some really worrying things about being the mistress of the barrier during her surprising panic attack. What was that all about? I thought I could trust bunny girl at least! In fact, Adlet actually seems like the most normal guy out of all of them there! And we even saw the scene where his mark was bestowed upon him. It’s like a seal of authenticity – one of the others must have tattooed theirs on or something. I think what I’ve been assuming is that Saints are good people, but Fremy refutes that idea completely. Saints are likely to be famous I guess, with their deeds well-known, but the power is inherited from what I remember so a chosen Saint could be any kind of person.
There were other strange things that need explaining – not least of all the inconsistent animation this week. When Adlet approaches the temple after opening its doors with a bomb just like in Zelda, there are these two suits of armour that attack him for some reason. And even before then, when he tried to save the Fiend disguised as a priestess or something – it never did try to attack him, and simply just ran away. I do love how I know practically nothing beyond what I’ve seen in these episodes though, it’s a nice change compared to some of the other series I’m covering this season. I have no idea how this will turn out at all! It’s so exciting!
Wellp, Chamo probably ran into Goldoff recently when he was searching for the Brave Killer, since she would be an obvious target. And she may have discovered who the killer was from him, or they may have discovered it together, but clearly she knows and sees know reason not to kill Fremy.
If you can’t trust the bunnygirl who can you trust? 😉 Seeing her freak out like that was unprecedented, and what she was yelling suggests something about her that I don’t like.
As for Adlet’s mark being guaranteed as real… we don’t know how the marks are supposed to be bestowed. It was a pretty creepy scene in which he received his. We don’t KNOW for sure that what gave it to him is what was supposed to give it to him: all we know is that HE didn’t fake it.
“…sees NO reason not to kill Fremy.”
I can spell, really. I can. I swear.
I could understand if it was just a panic attack or a bad reaction to a sudden crisis (and even then that’s already weird given how she’s been nothing but calm and collected so far) but what she was saying cemented the fact that something isn’t right. And she even started smashing stuff. What if those were important?!
So all of them could think that they’re legit, with the fault lying with whatever distributed the impostor’s mark? It’d make things more interesting, but they’d have to write it really carefully (with the easier alternative being that one of them is fake and knows it). It doesn’t explain how the barrier was activated either (assuming it was a Brave) unless one of them was manipulated or hypnotized into doing so… via the mark maybe. I don’t know.
I don’t know why, but since Ep 1 everytime I see Nashetania, seems like something is off, with every episode she only seems more and more fishy, The new guys are as weird as the rest but I think she is hiding a lot of things.
I tried to put this comment on spoiler tag.
I don’t think it’s really a spoiler now that it’s getting more obvious, but I tagged it for you anyway! For me, my suspicions only really began this episode – even if she had stuff to hide, I never thought it’d make her untrustworthy until now.
To make it all even more weird let me tell you some things (spoiler?)
maura is the teacher of saints, nashetanya and chamot training under her but that was long ago
fremy the legit brave killer (so she could be a brave herself)
– fremy tried to kill chamot as well and now its revenge time (more or less)
mr.black knight beeing like a little child, knows and loves our princess for a long time
Most suspicious ppl would be for me:
adlet that came out of nowhere
hans humpty because of his name (humpty dumpty -> broken)
chamot because she is scary
btw its not about ppl entering the door of that temple but more like entering the fog area i think
Adlet is not the fake, as we saw him get his mark. I don’t think Fremy is either because that would be too obvious and boring because she’s the Brave Killer. I don’t think Hans is either because suspecting the crazy-looking guy is cliche, and we don’t know anything about him. I don’t think Maura is either. Chamot is shady af and could possibly be the fake, but honestly she freaks me out. Idk about Goldof. But my money’s on Nashetania because I thought she was weird as hell since the beginning and she really proved it with that outburst of hers in the temple. Square up, princess. D:<
It’s possible that Adlet didn’t get his mark from where he was supposed to get it from (see above speculation) but that depends on whether they’re willing to let the mystery get that complicated. I don’t think it’s Fremy either. And Hans is so obviously dodgy that it would feel like a cop-out it was him.
I hope it’s not bunny girl, I don’t want it to be her ;_;
I was just saying that to show their point of view and how they might think who the spy is and presenting them to you
Would be no fun if i start spoiler as I am reading the LN :’D
Must be fun to be around ppl that are around your skill level and everyone is suspicious of each other and might even try to kill you if you are not cautious enough
