Gakkou Gurashi ep 2 [ Ghosts ]

Well, once you know the truth about Gakkou Gurashi this show certainly becomes different. By different I mean I go from ‘Wow I really hate moe shows where people have feelings’ to ‘I LOVE MOE SHOWS WHERE PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED INSIDE!’ There’s something special in this kind of show where it has elements you really despise but underneath it it is something beyond reason: fucking awesome destruction of little girl’s minds… wait am I a bad person?

I’ll be the first to admit when they’re giving into Yuki’s delusions I get so bored I don’t listen much. Then we see the broken glass and destroyed homes and I just shudder and go ‘oh it’s super good to know how destroyed everything really is’. Isn’t this school conveniently too well prepared for all this shit? And how the hell did these girls figure out the physics to a proper barricade with fucking wire?

I have to say the girl’s in this series are super invested in this delusion. I think they all need the distraction of believing in their school and studying to survive, but it needs to be the opposite. They need to get candy and slack off from school and try to live their lives. Their broken awful lives that will never be the same because they had to kill the boys they were in love with.

This episode has a lot of cruel hints, guys. They’ve changed things from the manga but let’s be for real, the anime will spare no blood. Everyone is in danger and already a major death that was meant to happen later is here for us right now, and I’m absolutely terrified. All I could think this episode is ‘I’m ready for the bad shit to happen’. This show is going to get brutal. So far it’s slow as it reveals it’s horrors, but with how we finally see how broken Yuki’s mind is, and how her friends cope with it- it’s a matter of time before the facade starts to break them all down. The question is how long?

    Yes. Shows that do evil unto little girls must NEVER BE TOLERATED OR EXCUSED. They must NEVER BE ACCEPTED OR FORGIVEN. And the ones who write them must BE HUNTED DOWN WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE BEFORE THEY CAN INFLICT FURTHER HORRORS UPON HUMANITY!

    I still owe Urobuchi some broken kneecaps. The guy’s lucky I lack the motivation to to actually go anywhere that he’s likely to be. 😉

    BTW, did you look up the double meanings for the op lyrics? And I love what this anime does to people’s minds: I saw one guy speculating that what Yuki was holding was not a bag of colourful balloons but something else, which is why the others gave her those looks :))
