Kyoukai no Rinne Episode 7: Curse of the Rabbit Hutch

The stupidest rivalry is created because of a rabbit. Amazing. It’s actually really hilarious. Masato is such a loser, for a demon. Usually demon characters are pretty cool but Masato is the complete opposite.

He may look cool with those wings of his, but he’s a complete idiot. He curses the living spirit of someone that had a bike accident, and by bike accident, I mean that his motorcycle ran out of gas and while he was walking with it he stumbled and banged his head on a pole. He’s still alive, but he’s in a coma as his soul is not in his body. Masato appears and curses him, then takes him away. The spirit’s girlfriend is being cursed, and this is where Sakura and Rokudou come in. It’s then that Masato reveals himself to them.

The craziest and dumbest story I’ve heard is told. Six years ago in little demon elementary school, for summer homework Masato had to send a soul from the human world to Hell. He heads to the human world and finds a rabbit at a school dying from loneliness, and he was about to capture the spirit when little Rokudou appears and says it’s not dead yet. He would know, he was in charge of taking care of the animals. Anyways, he gives the rabbit a carrot and the rabbit lives. Masato gets angry and attacks him with a giant fork, and then Rokudou takes out his little scythe and starts beating the hell out of Masato with it.

And time and time again, Masato tried getting more spirits (of animals for some reason), but Rokudou always smacked him and stopped him. And when he went back to his elementary school, he got detention on his first day back lol.

And because of all that, he hates Rokudou and wants revenge against him. The reason for his hatred towards him is so convoluted and stupid it’s just so damn funny. This whole episode was weird, but it was really funny. Even more, this loser can’t even spell anything right. He wrote “curse” wrong on the spirit’s forehead, and he can’t even write his own name correctly. His whole being is ridiculous, and I can’t even take this guy seriously. He’s so dumb but he makes things entertaining.

Suzu, the girlfriend of the spirit, and her friend Tomoya is being attacked by the spirit, only because Masato is telling him lies about his girlfriend cheating on him with her friend, which Masato “proved” with a really terribly photoshopped photo. Honestly…this guy…Well, he’s doing this so the spirit’s relationships will be broken, and so when they are, he won’t have any attachments to the human world, so he can be taken to Hell. Masato takes him to Hell, with Rokudou trailing behind him, where Rokudou will go to Hell as well. Sakura and Suzu try to find the thing the spirit mentioned and try to save him, which we’ll see next week.

A two parter this time. This episode had me laughing a lot, I really liked it. Next week we’ll be seeing Hell, so it’ll be cool to see how different it is from the other spirit world. Considering that Rokudou really doesn’t belong there, and I don’t even know if he had his scythe fixed, he might have a lot of trouble.
