Fuck this.
I know things were going to go horribly wrong once they got into Dio’s mansion, but…goddamn. I refuse to believe any of this. I’m always in denial about character deaths, especially if they’re the main character. But, again, this series kills off main characters, it’s not afraid to. Characters who you think are gonna stick until the end and have a happy end, yeah…this isn’t that type of shonen. I’m in denial. Like, hey maybe they’ll come back to life if Vanilla Ice gets killed or something, I don’t know. Wishful thinking.
Okay, so I know I’ve talked shit about Polnareff before. He can be an idiot, he can be a little annoying. I don’t hate him or anything, and I don’t necessarily dislike him either. I just like talking shit about him, but there’s no way I could this episode. Polnareff may be stupid at times, but there’s one thing you can guarantee about him and it’s that he really loves his friends. He’s extremely loyal to them, and I think he had a stronger bond with Avdol. Polnareff felt guilty the first time Avdol “died”, because if he hadn’t been selfish during that time when he was searching for his sister’s killer, he never would have gotten hurt. And again, Avdol died for Polnareff’s sake. Even when he said if anything were to happen, to move on anyway, he made sure Polnareff and Iggy got away. Avdol really was a selfless guy, and…yeah, denial. Fuck. Polnareff could have escaped the mansion, but instead he respected Avdol’s last wish and ran off to find Dio. Don’t stop for anything. And until the very end, trapped in Vanilla Ice’s plan, he went out with dignity, even with one leg being mutilated. And that really…FUCK.
So Vanilla Ice is a crazy asshole. He’s basically destroying the whole mansion just to get Polnareff and Iggy. Polnareff was able to find Cream’s weakness, and used the sand from The Fool to see when he would appear. Even so, it was still difficult to defeat him, and he never did. This whole time in Stardust Crusaders, we’ve seen all kinds of Stand users. But one thing they shared in common was that they all were loyal to Dio. But Vanilla Ice’s loyalty is more like manic dedication. Just because he had to strike down a fake sand Dio made by The Fool, he got into a rage and beat Iggy to a bloody pulp. Yeah, more animal violence, just fucking great. I can’t get enough of this stuff.
Other than his crazy self, it makes me angry to say, he was smart in the way he fought against Polnareff. Taking his injured leg into his advantage, then setting up that rolling trap. Leaving Polnareff to wait for his fate. That’s actually extremely cruel. But seeing how crazy this guy is, he’ll do any means necessary to make sure the guys don’t make it to Dio, even if he has to sneak up behind someone like a coward, or even create a trap like that. Ass.
Unfortunately Iggy was too hurt to even save Polnareff, though he really did try. If Jotaro and the others don’t make it quick, Vanilla Ice is going to swallow up Iggy. But from the looks of the preview, the three boys are going to come across some other people in the mansion, so it looks like that won’t be happening soon. *crosses fingers* Haha stop this. :’)
