Yep, because if there’s something that a 12 episode series needs, it’s a recap episode. Because lord knows we couldn’t get through this series without one. (Sigh) Fine, let’s just do it.

So the episode starts up with Takeru and Nya-tan at the park. There they see the snake eto-shin. She warns Nya-tan to be careful around her snake tiara, however Nya-tan doesn’t listen and gets bitten by it, turning her to stone.

Wow. Nya-tan shut her fucking face. This episode is better already!
Wow. Nya-tan shut her fucking face. This episode is better already!

Seemingly the only way to turn her back is for Takeru to go find the antidote with the snake by traveling through the Eto-shin dimension by dimensional train. (Is that the same as a space train? Because goddamn it I hate space trains.)

Seriously. I really REALLY hate fucking space trains
Seriously. I really REALLY hate fucking space trains

And what do they do as they travel through the Eto-shin dimension? That’s right, they have a recap episode.

Basically everything that’s happened in the series they bring up, all the major plot points, the things we’ve heard already, basically everything in case you were too lazy to watch episodes 1-6.

The only new piece of information we get is when Takeru and the snake enter Nya-tan’s shrine only to find it’s still rebuilding itself and her memories are scattered throughout it. Takeru asks if he can return the memories to Nya-tan and snake tells him no because some things are better left forgotten.

Apparently these are the same type of memory orbs that braniac has.

Heading back to the train it turns out that the cure was some curry that had to take time to cook, so the entire train ride of a recap episode was to kill time.

They give the curry to Nya-tan, she recovers, and the snake gives Takeru her seal…well…just because.

I guess you could call that....the curry of life! haha ah...that really was a fucking horrible naruto filler arc...
I guess you could call that….the curry of life! haha ah…that really was a fucking horrible naruto filler arc…

And that’s where the episode ends.

I don’t even know why i’m reviewing this episode. It is 90% recap. The only thing that’s good about this episode is that Nya-tan shuts her fucking face for nearly the entire thing as she’s turned into stone for most of it.

There is of course, really no reason for this episode. The only thing that happens is Takeru gets Snake’s seal. That’s really about it. Everything else we knew and was seriously just a time killer.

During the episode they DID bring awareness to the fact that it was a recap episode, but honestly, that doesn’t make it better. If you’re playing a guitar terribly and scream out “Man i sure do suck!” it doesn’t make you suck any less, it just brings more attention to it and since you HAVE called attention to it, you should probably NOT DO IT. I mean, it isn’t like they realized they were doing a recap episode and then tried to stop it, they just basically went  “tee hee, look at us! We’re doing a recap episode! And we know we are! Isn’t that funny?” No. No it’s not funny, it’s fucking boring, stupid, and a complete and utter waste of everyone’s time.

Snake in herself is an okay character. She’s a little dry, but compared to the rest of the characters she definitely has the most reserved personality. Not my type of character, but I don’t hate her like I do Nya-tan, she’s just….not my type of character. Still, it was nice to see her a little closer and a little deeper. Hopefully we’ll get an episode with Piyo-tan like that.

But really, it’s a recap episode. There was absolutely no reason to watch this episode. When watching this series, COMPLETELY skip this episode. It’s useless. Here is everything you need to know about this episode in four words. “Takeru gets Snake’s Seal”. That is literally all you need to know.

There you go. There's the entire episode
There you go. There’s the entire episode

This was worse than a bad episode. It was pointless, and that, in it’s own right is even more egregious of a sin.

Episode 3/10 (wasn’t less because Nya-tan mercifully wasn’t around for most of the episode)
