Twilight is such an awesome Dark Princess. I am already in love with her character. She as most of us probably had expected, is Dyspear’s daughter. And I have to say, she is a crafty one. First off, when she “helped” Haruka learn how to play the violin better, she told Haruka to “….lock your heart away and play” I thought to myself, “OH shit, is this a trap?!?” And you know what, it could have very well been- but that would be too easy and no fun for our Dark Princess, Twilight. She was fooling around with her, and further insulted Haruka, telling her she’s a third-rate player, a fake princess.
What makes Twilight’s character so awesome is her elegant mannerism. The way she speaks, it’s wonderfully evil. To add insult to injury, Twilight even set Flora’s leftover petals ablaze, and almost used that to take her down. Heck, even when the girls defeated Shut’s powered up Zetsuborg (which may I add: was the best Zetsuborg design to date, LOVE IT!), she wasn’t even fazed. To her, regardless of their victory, they are fake wannabes Princesses living in an illusion. Twilight claims a real princess like her who possesses the Sublime, Noble and Beautiful traits does not need dreams. Instead, she has an ambition to cover the world in despair with her black key, (heehee, she says).
Speaking of the devil: The Black Key is very different to the Dress Up Keys, so much so that I am feeling a bit more confident the speculation revolving around the keys have a darker counter part, but will not ignore the possibility of the Dress Up Keys being corrupted. The Black Key’s design is not the same as the Dress Up Keys. Is it shaped as a cage, meant to lock dreams away rather than to release them. The only thing now is whether or not there will be more popping up in the future because by the way the episode had ended with Twilight’s key, it certainly indicated the possibility.
For me, one of the fun things about the episode was how I was able to relate to Haruka’s experience with the violin. The way Haruka had been inspired and motivated to pick up the violin was the exact same reaction I had. It was fun to watch because we all knew it wasn’t going to be that simple to produce the perfect sound that Twilight, Minami and even Kirara were able to pull off. But what really surprised me was how Haruka had taken Twilight’s “advice” to heart. She actually followed her suite and locked her heart away so she could play a bit better, despite the she was just told earlier by the old man that violins are very good at conveying the player’s emotions, and it adds value to the performance. Later, when she does play better in front of him, he calls her out on that, telling her it doesn’t sound like her. Once Haruka goes back to the dreamy floral roots, she delivers her sound.Pafu surprised us (though when I think about it, I probably should have expected it), with her keen senses of knowing the Dark Princess was not someone to get close to. It appears she was the only royal fairy who had noticed since we didn’t hear anything from Aroma. I was also surprised no one noticed Pafu’s unsettled behavior, especially when she was trembling in Yui’s arms. But hey, Pafu is kind of like a dog and you know how they say dogs have keen senses about people…
The last thing I wanted to mention was the team slogan comparison:
(Princess Precure) “Strong, kind, and beautiful” VS “Sublime, noble and beautiful.” (Dark Princess)
It’s a an interesting comparison, because Precure’s slogan is something that is open to being universal, while the Dark Princess’s slogan revolved more around the social status and the outstanding individual who is above others. The only thing the two share is the “beautiful” part, but it’s safe to say their terms of “beautiful” are interpreted in different ways. I suspect the Princess Precures “beautiful” to refer to the individual’s soul where as for the Dark Princess, I see it being applies to her physical beauty. Of course, that is simply my interpretation.
PREVIEW: Next week it’s family day at Noble Academy. While it’s already pointed out that it will be revolving around Haruka and her little sister, I would REALLY like to see Minami’s family drop by since they are the ones who inspired her- but I have a feeling they will be too busy with work to come.
It kind of bothers me, all these things that Haruka keeps picking up. Is she still taking her ballet lessons, or has she dropped them in favor of a new fad that she thinks will make her more princess-like? She approaches each of these things as if she intends to give it a serious commitment, and people repay her with the kind of help one would give to someone who is making it a serious commitment, but I don’t think it’s possible for her to devote herself to all of these things the way she acts like she intends to. If she’s trying to do all of them seriously, she’ll burn herself out, but if she’s just treating them like fads; dropping each one when something new that catches her attention comes along; then that is disrespectful to the people who have helped her as she’s gone along.
Anyway, putting that aside… Currently placing Twilight’s chances of eventual redemption at about 85%.
It doesn’t bother me too much, but you still make a good point. it certainly does feel like Haruka lacks commitment to the acitivities she wishes to do. Music, dancing, fashion… she does them all, but the minute we see her succeed (aka within one episode), we never see it again. Of course it would be unrealistic to see them feature all these things, but like you said, she would need some serious time management like Kirara, otherwise she’ll just burn out. It would be a nice touch if the writers were to start off an episode, say she is practicing the violin, or taking further lessons of ballet with Minami, to show us the audience she is still committed to those activities.
LOL. We will have to wait and see whether or not her chances of redemption will rise or fall! Personally, I’d just love to see her as a villain from start to finish! XD
According to the spoiler image from magazine then I’d say that “Yes. She is still practicing ballet” Currently, I think that it may not that hard for her to manage each lesson. Because she doesn’t need to practice them everyday. I think that there are only ballet and violin. I’m not sure if she is still training tennis. I feel that it’s just only for school sport festival at that time. But I do feel a bit bother about her trying to do everything she fancies from watching other.
Kudos to the ever splendid Miyuki Sawashiro for giving us the pretty yet quite terrible Twilight into existence! Oh well, looks like our blooming Haru-Haru and co were already put to a much tougher test. I ain’t know why that dark princess begun fooling the youngest Cure leader in this franchise right now with her own harsh words, but still Twilight’s smoking hot ugh (and Shut’s going fanboyed whenever he sees her beauty)!
I noticed about Puff’s unusual behavior even though that she was already at Yui-Yui’s side, she looks scared (Oh dear that I have the same thing as Puff! :/). Moreover, my own prediction (and many of the fandom comrades) about Twilight being Dyspear’s daughter was correct yet I am suspected that what if our dark princess might do something bad against her own mom and even, a one-on-one fight vs Flora in mid season, that’d be an 86% sure for me that Twilight would be the fourth Princess Cure plus [spoiler]her key will be converted into a red one, though we’ll still wait and see. [/spoiler]
Anyways, I agree on that more powerful Zetsuborg being the best design yet one of the best ones also for the Cure series. I died laughing when Haru-Haru’s first try on the violin looked horrible and made Ms Shamour reacted back to her mascot form. *audible laughs* Looking forward on Haru-Haru’s imouto as well as I’d wanna see the families of Minamin, Kirara and (possibly) Yui-Yui in the next episode. >_<

Princess Twilight is definitely my most favorite villain character in Precure. Her dress and status are quite similar to Regina. But unlike Regina who is a spoiled kid. Twilight is mature, elegant and very beautiful. She is rude and completely evil. She is serious business. If the rumor is true about her becoming [spoiler]Cure Scarlet then HaruHaru really needs a lot of effort to convince her.[/spoiler] Please give her a lot of hug. :3 Other than powering up the Zetsuborg, I do hope that her Black Key is also a Dress Up Key which she can use to turn into Dark Princess Elegant Mode. That would be awesome!

It’s kind of late,, but congratulations on your first post at live journal (Last week I kind forgot to comment on it). I think it would be better to post it every week imo, but I think that is your decision, right?
Anyway, compared to last episode, surely there is some speculation here, especially regarding Scarlet, Twilight, Dyspear, and Kanata. I think most of you surely thinking they are related, but I think if you put hope too high, then you will be despairing too deep (Looking back at Regina and Cure Ace). The best action should be wait and see.
For next week, I think you will be depressed if you expect Minami parent will come but didn’t come and bang your head to table or wall, so let’s hope not too much (Geez, looks like I’m the depressed one here lol). Anyway, there are some spoiler from wiki that show us episode 16 will be Minami episode, 17 will be Kirara episode, and 18 will be Yui episode. Looks like Twilight will begin her little dirty work to our princess and their supporter to corrupt them (hopefully not) or doing something bad to them (very obvious). And I think there is a chance that Twilight will begin her redemption way……

I saw other people posted their review at live journal every week without any issue. One of them also posted the link to his blog like yours. I really don’t understand why the mod told you that. 0_o
It’s not a big deal, so it’s nothing to worry about. It probably has to do with me specifically mentioning I will not be actively participating in the community like some of the others may be doing. And sometimes it doesn’t always get updated quickly so if there’s too many posts from the outside, it will end up drowning out the community posts, which wouldn’t be fair to the posters from the community.
