So here we are, starting up on the home stretch of Yoru No Yatterman. Including this one, we only have 3 more episodes to go. Can they wrap everything up? Well let’s find out.
We last left our heroes arriving at the outskirts of Yatterman city. They devise a plan of sneaking into the city and finding Lord Yatter at his headquarters.
Once they get into the city we see the people who were taken there to work getting off for the day, tired and drained of any energy.
Just then a Yatterman PSA turns on explaining their story of how the Doronbow were evil and how the Yatterman saved the day.
But then they say something interesting. The Yatterman video says “They’ve been living a long long time, without even being allowed to die.” Huh. strange thing to say.
After traveling a little further they are set upon by the 12 (actually 11 now that Goro’s in jail) general gods of Yatterman.
Unfortunately as there are ELEVEN people with the same relative strength as Goro, the Doronbow are quickly defeated and captured.
This is definitely the low point of the series where it looks like they’re about to be killed when Lord Yatter sends a message to not only stop them from being executed but also to invite them to his chambers. Confused, the generals lead them there.
Upon arriving they’re greeted by..something I honestly didn’t expect. They’re greeted with cheers and confetti.
With everyone being confused we finally get to meet Lord Yatterman.
Know how I said in the title of the episode “What A Twist!”? Well here it is. It turns out that Lord Yatterman is actually the original boss of the Doronbow from hundreds of years ago.
Here’s my face learning this.
And that’s where the episode ends and I stare longingly at my calendar wishing it were next Sunday.
Seriously..wow. I am REALLY REALLY hooked right now. We only have 2 more episodes and this is all culminating into something awesome. I can tell you right now this will not turn into a “They’ll continue the fight in the future” ending. No no. They’re going to finish this series in 2 episodes, and I’m pumped as hell to find out how they’re going to do it.
This episode was a great one. The episode started with freaking me out a bit because it started with a recap of the previous 9 episodes, but it only lasted for a few minutes so I felt better after that.
Albeit in the first half of the episode it was a bit slow, the second half really picked up the pace and I kept checking the episode timer to see how much was left because I was worried how much they were going to get resolved.
And the twist. Here’s the thing. If you don’t know the Yatterman series, that’s okay. All you have to do is look up this guy’s name and you’ll understand how big this is. We find out that the leader of the Yatterman was Doronbow’s old boss. Meaning even hundreds of years along, he’s still pulling the strings, having taken over Yatter City on his own, more than likely having used the Doronbow as pawns for him to take over the world.
I have never finished an episode of this show with SO MUCH WANT to continue to the next one. There’s so many questions I need answering! Is Goro Alloute’s father? Will they defeat this guy and bring peace? How did he survive all this time? Where are the actual Yatterman? How will they defeat the 12 generals? Damn you show! Answer me!
This is the kind of feeling I missed. The kind of feeling where i’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode. This show really brought back the kid in me. I love these characters, they grew near and dear to me so quickly and so deeply, I feel as if we’re family and by god they better have a happy ending. Oh I want you next episode. Once I knew it wasn’t a recap episode, even the recap part was done well.
This is the reason to watch anime.
Episode 9/10

I’ve should have known that this would happened. Dokurobe is actually RESPONSIBLE for the corruption of Yatterman, upsetting the balance to this world, and worst of all, playing himself as Lord Yatterman. He turned the Yatter Kingdom against the innocence and enslaving them to work by his will. And when I witness that Yatterman became EVIL because of him, Dokurobe is the cause for the death of Leopard’s sick mother, Dorothy.
Looking back, the twist is SO obvious I want to hit myself in the face for not figuring out sooner.
Of course! That’s why they suck so much at being good. It’s just the bad guy pretending to be the good guys all along.
If only these people should learn the REAL truth that it was all a lie. The REAL Yatterman would NEVER enslave these people and for that, Dokurobe should be held accountable for devastating the balance and ruining the Yatterman legacy.
